Hello!
I use the X1 as a modem to surf the internet. The PC connection is over bluetooth and it works fine and fast!
but ....
after some time the internet connection is always terminated and i have to select "connect" again.
The device is connected to a power supply and on!
(turn off automatically is OFF)
Is there any (registry) setting to keep the connection?
I also use an HTC x7500 for the same purpose; there the internetconnection is not terminated (using the same PC, provider and even bluetooth)
Any ideas .... Helmut

I have a problem where I have my Prophet connected via USB to my computer, which in turn has a broadband connection. It can connect just fine through this connection, but I have remove my MEdia Net (cingular) from drop down choice in my Connection Settings page. But then when USB isn't connected, I have to go back and choose MEdia Net on drop down choice for internet so it will connect to GPRS. When connected via Wifi, I don't have this problem. It seems to automatically see that the Wifi is on and so connects to internet via this, instead of GPRS. How can I do it so that there's this intelligent choosing of USB over GPRS, that way it'll only connect via GPRS when there's no Wifi or USB.
First time connecting phone to the Activesync, choosing to share an internet from the comp, but there is no inet connection when Activesync connected. It's always trying to connec to GPRS. When disabling phone module - there is no internet at all.
Did anyone have this problem?
Resolved.
Menu File->Connection setting - change Computer connected to: from Automatic to Internet.
Conection settings-usb to PC You must set (enable faster data synchronization) just when You want upgrade GPS data, but when You want again normal phone synchronization this option switch off!
I try this also and work!

Hello,
I'm in a strange situation where my HTC Blackstone (or sometimes my HTC TytnII) is far from my notebook and connected to another PC via USB which work as internet gateway.
Here in Italy HSDPA/UMTS connection is very poor and very often internet connection goes down and I need to restart it manually.
Is there a way to remotely startup internet sharing connection???
At this moment I'm using MyMobiler through activesync. When internet goes down I disable device LAN interface (this cause activesync to automatically startup) and through mymobiler I restart internet sharing connection.
I hope you can suggest me a better way to do this!!!
in other words...
it would be great if I could use my htc blackstone as modem... so that I could start connection each time I want.
Actually through ICS you can use ActiveSync OR ICS...
Hi @all,

While your phone is in active sync mode (connected to your pc) your pc is sharing its internet connection with the phone so why would you want to have wifi still on?
On working station, the PC Internet connection is blocking, so i want the connection over wifi or gsm.
if you're using windows mobile device centre (I think the same options are there with the old activesync too), with the phone unplugged, choose 'mobile device settings' from the green screen, then 'connection settings'.
Check the 'Allow data connections on device when connected to PC'. The wifi connection should then persist when the phone is syncing
(edit): on the old activesync PC program, it's under File/Connection settings
Thank you, that's it
I have an htc touch running nfsfan's 6.5 rom and recently bought a cheapo bluetooth usb dongle that uses bluesoleil.
I've configured activesync to feed the touch internet via bluetooth and can browse the web and all through that connection, but none of my sip programs can register their connection.
Upon googling it turns out activesync dosnt pass the required udp packets for voip.
The second solution is to create a bluetooth network completely bypassing activesync.
And here are my problems:
- I cannot establish a pan connection from bluesoleil as long as I do not establish a bluetooth activesync first (am able to exchange business cards though)
- If i establish activesync, then bluetooth pan, then disconnect activesync, the pan connection is still active, but I get about 75% packet loss when pinging my router from the phone and apps want to dial the #777 to get internet.
The touch not having wifi, that bluetooth pan connection seems to be my only solution to get voip working on that phone (cell provider phone data connection has very high latency and unusable for voip)
Any suggestions greatly appreciated
