I succesfully downgraded my shift to XPe. All worked fine for many days.
I replaced boot.bmp in windows directory to overwrite common windows boot logo.
After reboot I forget an USB stick (probably with active partition) inserted in USB port ... and I suddenly removed it after bios screen... from that moment XP refuses to start and blocks itself before loading boot screen.
I removed USB stick, tried to load bios default etc etc... no luck.
How can I do ? Can the HD be failed ? How can I do to know for sure ?
Perhaps booting with WINPe ?
Any advice much appreciated. Best regards.

I really hope there is somebody with insight about my problem with my Samsung Omnia b7610.
A while a go I wanted to flash my Omnia (original version 6.5 from Samsung site)
It wend wrong...
When I now turn on my phone and connect it to PC, I only see the Battery charging. When I turn the phone on I only see the SAMSUNG logo.
I remember that before I could see a picture of a phone connecting to a pc. But that picture doesnt come anymore. So I Cant flash the phone anymore.
Hard reset doesnt work.
I tried Octans. Detect device doesnt work.
I use Win7 installed drivers and I can see in System Management that under phones Samsung MIT's USB sync is installed. That's all the phone can do right now.
I hope somebody can help me. Is there for example a way to get into a bootloader menu like the HD2 phone?
Thnx,

Try this flash tutorial for windows 7 x32
I used it for my flashings and it works.
One thing that you should verify is on the OCTANS or OCTANS MINI exe, the compatibility should be for Win XP.
After that if you have the drivers already installed, the phone should be detected after pressing "detect"
JUST PLUG THE PHONE AFTER PRESSING DETECT
if you don't do it it will start charging and does nothing
Thanks for reaction but...

Click to collapse
Tried this, and I also tried it on a XP machine now...
I think the problem is that I only see the Samsung logo on startup. I can remember that first I saw a picture of a phone connecting to a pc. It just stops at the Samsung logo...
Thanx for reply...
just get octans 2.14 download any rom from modaco

As far as i am aware the only way out is to reflash the stock firmware, without usb your a bit stuck. what is the problem with the usb connection?
i am trying 3 systems xp w7-64 w7-32 all are device not recognized error in device maneger is yellow mark unknown device
You need to install the usb recovery drivers. They are on the advent/pov websites. I assume there the same as your tab.
i cant access my tablet because i have usb not recognized error i want any alternat method to flash my tablet rom like sd card or usb drive thanks
no one solved my problem any idea if i use usb to serial cable or usb to lpt cable
You need to sort the usb driver issue. That will solve your problem. As far as i am aware flashing the stock rom with any other cable is not possible.

I'm having one heck of a problem here. So I've got my Nexus 7, on stock Android, but rooted and unlocked.
I wanted to try Paranoid Android, so I installed the TeamWin Recovery using the Nexus Root Toolkit, then flashed the ROM and wiped cache/dalvik. I tried to boot into the new ROM, but it just stayed on the boot animation. So I looked up the issue, and the solution seemed to be return to stock Android, then flash Paranoid Android again.
So I tried to use the 'Flash Stock and unroot functionality' of the Nexus Root Toolkit, which proceeded fine until the copying of 'system' onto the device... This lasted for about an hour without progress, so I decided to try again with a different version of stock Android. This too didn't work.
So then I (foolishly) rebooted the tablet. But when I got back to fast boot, it didn't show up in Windows (on either of the two machines I have here, and with two cables that have both worked previously, in multiple USB ports). The specific error is that it shows up as an unknown device (which is fine) but also in the device manager there is error 43, which states that the USB has malfunctioned so it has stopped.
For that reason, it's impossible for me to connect it to a computer or even re(install) the proper drivers for it. And as it doesn't have a working OS, i can't get to ADB either. So right now I can't think of anything that will work - no fast boot, no recovery, no connection to a PC.
Any ideas?
Really, no ideas? Come on XDA Developers, you're my only hope <3
Hi there!

Hi, Im trying to reinstall Windows 10 on a laptop for a friend, a Voyo Vbook V3.
Ive tested the image and the USB stick on my laptops and it works fine, however whenever I try it on this laptop I just get the above message.
Ive disabled the Secure Boot option but Windows Boot Manager remains the only option in boot options, I cant get USB to appear.
Running Advanced Startup and telling Windows to boot from USB again just gives me the message "System Doesn't Have any USB boot Option".
Dont have a clue what to do now, any help appreciated.
Bump, anyone got any clues?
I don't think this is anything to do with Windows. You need USB boot enabled in the BIOS in most machines,

Hello,
For some time the fastboot mode doesn't work on my N4. Neither Recovery, it remains inaccessible. (black sceen)
Recently, I formatted the system partition and android now cannot boot any longer (!).
Download mode works though!
So I followed the tutorial from there to unbrick it:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/nexus-4/general/tutorial-how-to-unbrick-n4-t2347060
But I am stuck at the LGNPST step, because my device doesn't appear in the app. I used a Win10 PC, so maybe there is some kind of uncompatibility with the "a bit old" procedure. I tried all three usb ports of the PC, with no luck.
Now, I don't know what to do next.
Is there some kind of procedure that can work with Linux instead of Windows to restore fastboot mode ?
Thanks a lot!
Have you checked whether your phone is appearing in device manager?
Perhaps Windows did not apply the driver to the device automatically (it happens sometimes).
