Automated sms send when diamond doesn't receive signal - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV Themes and Apps

hi guys..
sometimes my diamond doesn't send sms because of it doesn't receive signal..and I see the wrote "Message was not send, try again?".
does exist a way so that the diamond sends the sms automatically?
thanx..
Fabio

I would like it to do this also. Its not often i have no signal but still.

I thought this was a network provider settings(?) You can choose to 'keep sending' until the message is sent.

Sorry I was thinking about the settings in Nokia phone (!), message validity or something.
Although in my MDA Compact IV, I've not changed anything in particular. When it is either my phone (or the recipient) out of reception, I initially get a message not sent SMS back and when it comes back into reception the message sends.
I'm with T-mobile UK.

Unsent Messages Going To Drafts?!

Phone: MDA
Provider: T-Moble
OS: 2.21
Has anyone else noticed that with the T-Mobile MDA, unsent messages (due to lack of signal) go to DRAFTS (which must be manually sent later) instead of being held in OUTBOX for when I have signal?
I actually upgraded my ROM thinking that would resolve the issue but it does not. Perhaps there is a registry tweak I need.
Any help/ideas would be most appreciated.
yeah, i have to agree its bloody stupid. what idiot thought that would be a good idea ffs.
a reg hack would be great.
Phone: MDA
OS: 2.21
Provider: T-Mobile
I am curious now how many other people have this problem, particularly Wizard users. If this is something specific to T-Mobile I might try another provider's rom to eliminate the problem.
Is this sms or outlook msgs (or both). I know that sms goes to drafts (not fixed in any WM version I know) but outlook email should go to outbox. I'm using the cingular wizard.[/quote]
Its SMS messages. So this is a function of Windows Mobile? Gawd what a stupid feature!
i must agree i wish they would go to outbox i hate having to go back to drafts and resend half the time i forget about them
It is a stupid idea, but surely something that could be fixed by a kindly app ?
I don't know about anyone else, but I've never had a phone that automatically sends when there is signal. It always saves to drafts and I have to send it later.
mine sends auto if there is signal.. but if its over 6txt msg long it sends to drafts cuz there is a timeout on it.. if we can figure out how to change the time-out or attempts made maybe we can come up with some sort of hack that will make it keep tryin until it goes thru!
My nokia 3650 always used to try to resend any unsent messages at a specific interval. I think you could even input how many times to try to re send.
i have it too, and the same thing was true when i was on wm2003se
it would be so much bettre if it auto sent once a signal picked up

Any bog-standard SonyEricsson or Nokia will do this. It's such as simple thing you'd assume MS would get it right, on what is after all version 5 of their phone OS.

I had a SE T610 and a S700i and both of them would just say "Sending Failed" and save the message in drafts, which do not auto-send.

Just so others can help properly it's worth checking that your text messages are not being received despite the message. For a while I got the message cannot be sent messages but in fact they were being sent!

Oooooh! Not good, hope you they were not sent I ended up with repeated messages sent all over the place. Maybe you could check by sending message to yourself.
Mike
well...i sent msg to myself and it works fine, saying "message successfully sent" but all other numbers it still wont go.

I see a reply from qtotter which I don't follow but may well make sense to you. Just in case qtotter does not have the explanation the following may help.
When I had the problem I began to notice that some numbers worked and some did not according to the message sent pop up. (as I said before all were actually being sent).
In my case it turned out to be to do with whether the numbers were on SIM on Phone or had been imported from SIM. As an experiment you could try re entering one of the numbers that appears not to work and saving it. Then try it again, if it's the same as the problem I had you may find the same number now works. Worth a try?
Mike
i guess what qtotter meant was that SMS in Japan is only possible between Softbank(Vodafone) and AU. Docomo doesnt support SMS...
For the x01th (hermes), it is the only phone in Japan without a proper email address connected to the carrier ( at least to my knowledge, maybe Willcom`s awesome W-Zero series has no email...dont know)
About the issue with the sms...i will look into the contact list/ sim issue.
Guess i will send some SMS and Cmails (AU) around.
Thanks for the tipp....

it's more like there is no way to get an address with x01th and use it on x01th by default. firstly, if you put your sim into another sb phone and go to Y!, you can get an account. secondly, if you install an mms client in x01th and set up vodafone/softbank mms setting, you can actually use mms on it. there is still some problem which happens once in awhile, but it works most of the time.
by the way, zero3 comes with an email address.

Seems like the sms message centre number has changed - it should be: +447782000800
I cant seem to find were to change the number though, hope someone else can help?
someone must know, help help!
someone must know, i tried calling three, but the indian call centre, suggested i go to a three store. thats miles away
have you checked your sms service center number.
Go to settings then phone. Then services. The voicemail and text messages. Click get settings and let us know what service number you have in
This is the number already in the settings +447782000800. So everything should work, but it doesnt.
So all you dont have any problems sending text using 3 network?
Why is mine like this
i found the problem. after 3 months of no ability to text, numerous calls to the indian call centre, and countless hours on the forums looking for the answer. heres what fixed mine:
under advanced network settings i changed the sms txt to GSM rather than GPRS.
so simple in the end, a big thanks to all who have previously tried to help me. I holpe this may help others out there who might have the same problem.
im off to send some txt to my friends now haha

Delivery Reports

I like to have delivery reports turned on, however I don't like the fact that it is the same tone as my sms.
Is there a way of assigning a different tone to delivery reports or even have delivery reports turned on, but not receive an audible warning, but just a message only?
Thanks in advance
i put delivery reports on but never get them. think its o2 uk network. i dont think u can change it, as its not in the sound settings as a choice that u can change. maybe there is an app somewhere that gives u more options that u could install.

O2 don't handle delivery reports in the same way as other networks.
You can get round this my putting *0# at the beginning of your text message. It's invisible to the recepient, but tells the GSM network to send you a delivery report.

Vodafone does have the capability and I do like them, just not the same tome or any tone....
thanks tried it and it worked
Can anyone still help with this one please?
This won't work because the delivery report is a SMS too.
The phone do not know that it is a report.

A Bit Confused Re SMS and WiFi

I'm currently forced to use WiFi instead of data to access the internet. Since I'm now leaving WiFi on all the time, I can no longer send SMS messages. And I'm not sure I'm receiving them. Is that normal? Is there some sort of setting I need to change? Or is this the old SMS bug from the past?
Thanks.
-Bob-
Pretty sure you have to have data access to send SMS, as it's phone number based, so phone service is required.
there shouldn't be a problem sending and receiving txts when wifi is on.I surf over wifi all day long with no phone issues.

The strange thing is that NOW I'm receiving and able to send with wi-fi on.
Guess I'll have to turn on "Request delivery report" for now and hope I receive my messages.
It's odd that after 3 months, I've suddenly experienced the dreaded SMS bug.
BTW, can anyone tell me how to access the out box to see if the unsent messages are there?
-Bob-
on the messaging tab,
all messages - menu - settings - traditional mode. makes it easier to switch between in and out box etc.
the outbox usually keeps the messages those could not be sent ... if there 're any of it so ur suppose is ture..and i think there is a number u can define to send a message...not sure about hd2 but xperia x1 my phone automatically get the config...

Well...no unsent messages!? The "Sent Items" shows all my messages as having been sent, but I know they weren't received. Now I'm starting to wonder if there isn't some user error on my part.

I agree.
SMS was never designed to be instantaneous, and networks will argue this case.
Wait a few days beforehand, then ask your network provider if they do not appear, it may be a 'stuck' SMS in the network's system causing issues.
I've known a text message to take 363 days to arrive...

The messages that I sent at 8:00 this morning, that were not received, suddenly flooded into the recipient's phones at 11:00. Since they weren't sitting on my phone, as far as I could tell, I guess T-Mobile was hanging on to them. Odd. That's never happened before.
