Is it just me but I can see no Opera browser installed in the new Generic UK R2A ROM???? Where is it hiding or do I need to do something special to get is op my phone? Is it included in the ROM??? Newbie, please help!!!
Hmm Opera is the default browser in the UK R2 Rom. If you cannot find the sortcut (which sounds bizarre) try using the google search field on the today screen to see if that runs Opera.
Call me stupid, but no, cant seem to find the shortcut or the application?? Any suggestions?
If you have changed your Start Menu and Opera is showing there then it would not show in Programs, and vice versa. have a look in both before you result in a reset
Or simply install it again.

Nope, very strange, not anywhere to be seen!!! Do I need to flash ROM again with the same UK generic one, or do you suggest I download it again as well??
Try a hard reset and let the customisation run after setting up the screen, it should install then. If it doesn't then something has gone wrong with the flash.
If you're using the stock file manager then there's a good chance it's hiding files in /windows.
Is it in the Start menu?

I am using the standard file explorer, "Show all files". Is there a specific place in the windows directory I need to look?

No they should just be sitting there all content and lovely..
Try using "total commander" instead. Either google it of find it on this site, it's free and superb.
The Inbuilt file exploder is pants..

ROM is the main operating system, extended rom is hidden but download total comander and type in '/Extended_ROM' to access there you will find all the programs installed by default and as such you can delete the ones you dont need like blackberry tmob settings of home pages on internet explorer and add your own so when you do need a hard reset it will install all your fave progs

Something turned up, or to be exact: Nothing turned up. It seems that Total Commander thinks it is a network adress...
Does the Extended ROM need to be unlocked like the Unverisal?
I just did a hard reset and now Opera doesn't work (same problem as thread ...http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=307645&highlight=Opera+launch). It sounds like the program CAB is in the Extended ROM, but I am unable to see it either. With my universal the Extened Rom had to be unlocked. I'm not sure is that the same with my HTC X7500. Anyone know?

I think the correct input is "\extended_rom" (without the quote). It should work.
Ollisshop, you should be able to go the entended rom and reinstall opera. First, the generic opera, then the customized opera cab.
I have just downloaded Beta 2.5 - is this the latest? I can't delete anything from extended rom - does it need unlocking, if so, how?

Wow it worked. This took me hours on my Universal to figure out. You guys are great.
Now with all this extra time, I'm also going to install NetFront and compare it to Opera.
I've been using pocket cm keyboard on my 8125, but now I get a message saying this version cannot be run after 11/0|/07. I was using version 0.11. Does anyone have the version that can be run after 11/01/07 and post the cab for the download?

I tried that, and the newest I saw on the website was v.011 which I downloaded and got the same message.

I need help actually installing it. I installed the cab file... and you know how you have to change the keyboard from the little triangle by the keyboard button (you know what im talking about). anyway, I change it to Pocket CM, and it switches right back to the origional. what is going on.

steph... i tried that, it didn't work sadly .. I must be doing something wrong.
Ok.. i started over with everything. Removed the Pocket CM from my phone.
Installed the CAB for the SIB thing.
re installed the cab for the pocket CM (iphone one)...
Then, tested it to see if it worked. Didn't (but other keyboards were added strangly... and they worked... except i have no use for them and i want them gone )
Then i found another keyboard that looked cool.. installed the cab (by the way, to the main memory.), didn't work either. even after a few soft resets
has anybody ever had that problem, or know what im doing wrong?

thanks. I figured it out now. i guesss... you can only put in one cab keyboard at a time. and it uses the latest one.... thanks for the help tho, it cleared some stuff up.
I just downloaded UL and i love it, but all the menu's are in German. anyone know of an English version?

do you know where i can get a icon package for this program. extension *.ico
It uses standard windows icons...
You can find *.ico files all over internet for windows, aslong as you use 32x32 and 48x48 for animated icon then its easy.
Tabs must be big enough for icons..

it would be nice to be able to use icon .dll files. currently i have an icons.dll that has a bunch of icons inside that i used for cLaunch. This program will only see the first icon. is there a way to make it use any of the other icons in the file?

Anyone having a problem with it freezing when it starts up? It happens to me when I have a voicemail. The active sync would open and then I can't do anything. I ended up hard reseting my phone to be able to run my phone again. I like this program. I just don't want to keeping hard reseting my phone everytime I get a voicemail and soft reseting before I clear it.

Anyone buy the full version yet? I tried this program and loved it, so I bought it from Handango.com. The registration seemed to work, but at some point I got "not activated" all over the screen. I went back into the configure program, and the registration code went back to all 0's. I've since been flashing a few different rom's (trying to find the best 6.1 for my 8525) so I haven't reloaded it yet. Hopefully it was a freak thing, and it'll work once I reload it.

If your talking about the stock plug ins then they aren't really plug ins. I have yet to find a 3rd party software that hey can be used with.

I guess he wanted to say if it was possible to chose Calendar and Tasks as a tab. I really don't know this isn't possible - it simply doesn't show in the plugins list

I had the same problem when i first installed it, phone freezes then activesync opens and the phone stops to respond, had to hard reset too .
I made sure that all active today plugins are not dsiplayed ( settings,today, uncheck them ) then installed ultimatelauncher, loaded those plugins into seperate ultimatelauncher tabs. been working fine so far, I had no problems ,been two days now .
For the *.ico files, i converted few *.tga icons to *.ico , ultimatelauncher would see them but won't load them .. so i figured it could be the size of the icon, a bit big for ultimatelauncher ( 40 X 40 ) .. will try with smaller icons later .
Edit : tried with ( 16 X 16 ) icons and still ultimatelauncher won't load them
Does anyone know how to uninstall the "stock" version of Opera 9 that comes with the ROM? It does not show up in the remove programs list. I prefer Opera 9.5 beta and would like to get rid of the stock Opera 9 that comes on the device. Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks
I would also like to know how to do this. I really like the zoom feature in the new beta.
i'm suprised you got the new beta to work. I have nothing but issues with it. When I open the bookmarks for instance and then close it, it says opera at the top of my taskbar, but opera is no where to be seen.
What's the new zoom feature exactly?

The beta actually installs in the program files folder, either on the device or storage card depending what you pick obviously. Stock Opera installs directly in the windows folder. I may try just copying the beta files into the windows folder and see what that does, naming them the same obviously, so it overwrites

get the one called:
TX Opera mobile 10
install it on your Sd card than go to the settings enable the plugins and you will have Flash enabled(youtube and so on).
you will have 2 operas on your device, your original default 9.7 and the new one which you can uninstall whenever you like.

actually it's half solved: it installed but when I lauch it instead of opening opera 10 it open the SENXE OPERA 9 TAB
Try to launch it from the source,on your Sd card,I hope you installed it there,since if you installed on your internal memory it will replace your original one.

Are you sure its the tab as Opera 10's start screen looks similar to the tab (images for bookmarks)

did you enable plugins under the settings?
I was using a ROM that had opera10 with flashlite working, and it was by far the slowest for video between opera 9.7, opera 10 and IE.
