How to turn off "I" capitalization - XPERIA X1 General

Hello,
Simple question - is there a way to turn off capitalization of "I" letter? I'm using UK rom, but I dont want the "I" to capitalize automatically. Turning off the first letter in sentence capitalization doesn't help. Any hints?

I don't know how to fully correct this behavior...
But you can tap the "backspace/del" key to remove the capitalization!!
hth,
Stuart

Thanks for the tip, that makes it easier, still it would be best to be able to just turn it off.

Is there easy way to switch profile (ring to silent/vibrate)?

Hello
I'm a long time T-Mobile MDA owner and the the feature that I used the most is "holding commanager button" to switch between ring and silent.
I got T-Mobile Wing but there's no commanager button!!! Is there an easy way to do the same thing as in MDA?
Thank you

That's method i know but the problem is with that, the phone keep making noise to tell you how loud the setting is, tick tick tick tick and then silent.
I just need a quick/easy way to switch without making noise

Thank you. but why oh why they need to hide this useful function there. more step to do something simple.
you can always go and buy SPB mobile shell. It's pretty reasonable and you get mroe than just the profiles. </advertising>
SPB phone suite has an easier way than mobile shell.
I just installed HTC Home 6 tabbed from this thread
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=325975
now I have the free and easy way to switch profile.
(the weather is kinda useless, though, since it cannot update over GPRS)

Physical Keyboard ?

When I use the Physical Keyboard it randomly inserts periods. I'm running the latest build of Cyanogen but it's been doing it on older donut builds...thoughts?
It's meant to add a space when you press the space bar twice. Go to Settings > Locale and text > Device keyboard and uncheck auto-punctuate.
If it's not that then it could be an issue with the HTC IME activating when it's not meant to.

Really, in a stock ROM That's what I'm running...
Is there no personalize option on your settings tab, or no vibration option in the personalize screen...?

Ok this one is gonna drive me batty until I figure it out
(Pardon the questions, just want to be sure)...Are we talking about the same thing, the "Settings" tab in Sense, not the "all settings" screen (the WM settings group that looks like the start menu)..?
And, when you're on the settings tab, are you sure you're scrolled all the way to the top of that list?
How in the world does my stock ROM have it there, and yours doesn't??
MINE DOES

I am running the Stock ROM as well and it is exactly as you stated sirphunkee! These guys must be a little confused. That is the first thing I stopped. It saved a lot on battery life.
HERE IT IS AGAIN. START/SETTINGS/PERSONALIZE/VIBRATION!
If I knew how to track registry changes in real-time, I'd just change the setting and see what change gets made as a result. But, I don't

Yeah I can fix that! Here you go!
Hit the keyboard so swype comes up.... Hit the "SYM" Key, then hit the shift key/the arrow pointing up/then hit OPT then you will see it listed and uncheck! BINGO!
Thanks

Sir Phunk have you seen anything on the boards about disabling or turning off vibration during call waiting? I'm running Core Cell V3 ROM and when you are in a call and get another the handset vibrates which 1.) Isn't pleasant to your ear, 2.) Whoever you are talking to can hear it really loud. Figured you might now, thanks ahead of time...
Nevermind, found it on the boards
I have another question related to vibration on the HD2. This has been asked before, in another thread, but has anybody found a solution to the stuck vibration issue? I usually get it from time to time through e-mail notification vibration. It will vibrate in pulses 3 times. On the third time it will hang until I press a hard button. This is very annoying, and I have disabled the notification vibrate for now.

Swipe, how to turn on?

This may turn out to be an inane question, but I have had my unlocked Galaxy S I9000 for two weeks and have not been able to figure out how to turn on the Swipe keyboard feature. I have suffered through the tutorial where the feature worked just fine but unless I overlooked something there was no mention of turning the feature either on or off. All of the feature's adjustments under the settings heading appear to be initiated so, what have I missed?
Thank you in advance.
On my hero I have to first go into SETTINGS, LANGUAGE & KEYBOARD, then de-select my htc keyboard and select swype
Sent from my HTC Hero using XDA App
Hold your finger where you input text, go to input method and select swype.

[Solved] how to disable the vibrate on Android 2.2

I am using FroyoStone Sense V2 build - this build is using Android 2.2 with sense and it is brilliant on my HD2. I have set it up and am quite happy with it one thing I had trouble doing is disabling the vibrate on the dial pad - I have now found out how to diable the vibrate on the dial pad but it is a bit of a cheat way doing it.
I just downloaded NubDial from market place and it seems to sort the problem. It is free and has a nice simple black keyboard. It is fully intragrated into the address book and when you select the phone button it will prompt which dialer to use, simply select the nubdial and select the option to make as default!
If the vibrate is enabled in this dial pad simply click on windows key for settings and then go to Settings -> uncheck Enable haptic feedback! works a treet

I have managed to do it on the keyboard but cant seem to find a setting for the dial pad its self.
Does any body know how to turn this off, or is there a .apk I can download to turn this off?

I want to know too.
settings --------------> Sounds---------->haptic feedback
Don't think you can. If you go to settings, sound, there's an option to turn of haptic feedback in applications IIRC. Not sure if that would work though...
***Edit*** Tested it, doesn't work!
I searched all over the web, it seems you can't disable dial pad haptic feedback, in a mean time I use third party dial pad.

For those who have not solved this. On your 'phone' dial pad screen, click windows button, Preferences and some where in the middle you will see "Enable Haptic Feedback" check or on check, whatever your preference is and this will take care of Haptic feedback when you dial.

In sense version, on phone dial pad screen, click windows button, then phone settings, it only have edit default message, edit message, save to contact, there is nothing about haptic feedback
In vanilla version, on phone dial pad screen, in phone tab, windows key won't work, call log, contacts, favorites tabs windows key works, but there still is nothing about haptic feedback,
Im just wondering what dial pad you have.
This may have been an android 2.1 version, I think you were able to disable it there. Use the NubDial it is a nice simple dial pad free to download from market place!

I want to disable haptic feed back on my keyboard too, not just my phone dialpad. Turning it off in the phone settings doesn't do anything. I'm using FroyoStone_Sense_V3.1. Has anyone found a solution?

Where should this question go then? I'm thinking if we had a stock android phone the settings would be working. [EDIT] Oh, I see that this could go under HD2 Android General Discussion.

This does not work on all versions of android. I have tried on some versions and this option is not availabe. Seems to be versions with sense enabled like the desire builds. Ones with out sense has this option. EG nesus one builds.
