yes with last coreplayer build .....
yup
Coreplayer will play it.
But the question he asked was...'smoothly' and in my experience it would be no. The bitrate is waaay too high on both the video and the audio, I would say you'd run a benchmark against that file and get it running at about 85%
yes, I mean "smoothly"!
anybody can give a real test?
This was with an 512*384 Xvid movie:
Average speed: 83.66%
Bench. frame rate: 20.059
Bench. sample rate: 40581
Bench. data rate: 1.86 Mbit/s
Orig. frame rate: 23.967
Orig. sample rate: 48000
Orig. data rate: 2.23 Mbit/s
Hell no ! (said with Will Smith voice). If Core player can play the file specified by the OP i'll throw my x1 out the frigging window.

I update my MDA pro with Jassar rom or dopod 900 asian WWE,but it is slow too.
It cann't play skyforce at normal speed too.

Re: Dopod 900 is very very slow in playback video or play ga
Hi,
Sorry i havent looked through all your results - but in connection with Skyforce.
You need to make sure you've got v1.22 anything below and the game is unplayable on the jasjar/m5000 etc.
I have quite a few game installed and all seem to run ok - the ones that dont are normally not wm5 optimised.
Matt
I recently bought an HTC Trinity also known as P3600.
I installed TCPMP and launch video. Of course I got the problem with Imageon and switched to raw framebuffer.
Image quality was OK (although compression artefacts are more visible on trinity than Wizard) but performance seemed low.
So I ran benchmarks and surprisingly the trinity (cpu= 400Mhz) is much slower than my wizard (cpu= 225 Mhz).
I get 118% for trinity and 152% for wizard for the same movie and the same parameters for TCPMP 0.71.
What can be the explaination???
My HP 4350 with cpu 400 Mhz is well above 250% for this movie...
This makes no sense for me. It's like my wizard is running 200 Mhz. Or maybe Samsung processor is crap but I read somewhere it is good.
below are test results (I stopped them after 30 seconds because it is not necessary to bench the whole movie to see there is a problem)

Interesting. I have seen benchmarks for the Omap processor that showed very good graphics performance, even better than much faster processors because of a separate accelerator inside the chip, maybe that is the reason, or maybe TCPMP is just not optimized to use the new Samsung processor to its maximum potential.
What's your favorite video encoder/converter and player?
Also, in what format/resolution do you convert your vids so that it will play decently in your athena, and thus minimizing file size?
I have a collection of divx (.avi) movies with this specs:
Resolution: 624x352
Frame rate: 23fps
Size: around 350mb
Those are recorded tv episodes which I want to watch on my athena.
I'm just wondering what programs and formats you guys/gals use.
Ciao!
xvid or divx for me.. mostly xvid
The only thing i like more about divx is that it seems to encode much faster because it uses both cores.
xvid settings
resolution of 512x384
video 600
audio 128 mp3
fps 23
works good for most things
I put some spongebob episodes on for my nephew's and with those settings they were only about 60mb each.
I use virtualdub to encode and tcpmp for playback.
cool!
thanks c0mput0r!
wmv
240* 320
frame : 25
and
ASF
480 * 620
Frame : 30
I LOVE MY HTC X7500 ........
hey X7501_PPC,
what are your average filesizes for those formats?
and what converter do you use?
ciao!
Hey, I just tried what the Leo can REALLY play back! Since there is a 1008x1008 restriction in coreplayer the maximum res. we cannot test divX 720p.
Running the latest HD2O Rom with all common Tweaks.
Here my benchmarks:
Running HD2O Rom
SinCity Trailer 960:528 DivX 1.35Mbit/s @ 25FPS
Audio : 128Kbit/s real Stereo
44 KhZ
Results (Coreplayer v.1.3.6):
Average Speed: 123,37%
Bench. Datarate: 1.67Mbit/s
Results (TCPMP v.0.72):
Average Speed: 79.03%
Bench. Datarate: 1.1Mbit/s
Hi guys,
I'm curious how to encode a video for playback on SG3 to achieve best visual and audio output and keep the lowest battery consumption. So, what do you recommend:
Video:
resolution
codec
fps
bit rate
etc
Audio:
codec
sample rate
bit rate
CBR / VBR
etc
SG3 display resolution is 240x400 but I found on official samsung site that (best or recommended or ?) resolution for playback is 720x480.
Thx for any advice
Resolution/codec/bitrate: SD (720x480 or less)
- if you download an XVID film or series (and the size doesn't matter) you can directly play it from inbuilt media player.
Audio: I suggest MP3 CBR 320kpbs, or MP4A VBR at highest quality, MP4 produces better quality and supported by most popular media players.
Codec:
xvid - good quality, and less CPU usage
h264 - good quality, smaller size, but more cpu usage.
FPS: use the source values (if your movie is 25fps and want to convert to reduce size etc. use 25 fps)
Bit-rate: depends on SD-card speed, most of XVID movies are @1000 kbps, maximally use 1500 kbps I think it's enough.
Sample Rate: 44100 Hz is standard CD quality, 48000 Hz is DVD quality, I think you will not hear any difference.
