Wake Up Button

Hi, all
I just upgrade to WM6... As usual, i'm using left soft key to lock and unlock my device.... and after 1 minutes the phone will turn off by itself and lock....
So when i press the left soft key, the device will wake up and unlock the screen.... however after i upgrade to WM6 seems like the left soft key is not working... i need to press the power button to wake up the device and unlock the screen by using the left soft key.... Is this the new feature of WM6 ? Is there anyway i can get the function not to lock the key ?
Thanks
Jon

can not get the 3color bootloader screen

As it said on the new guys guide
"STEP MANUALLY to bootloader. (Press and hold camera button and press reset)"
I tried to do that after I installed succesfully the hard-SPL
but my cruise do not show me the 3color screen
actually I'm not sure I'm pressing the correct buttons:
the camera button on the right side of the cruise, and the reset button on the top
is it correct?
someone, help?
On the top is not reset button, but On/off, reset U must press with pen in hole next to miniUSB...
Keep pressed photocamera button while releasing the pen.

Backlight & Phone Locking Questions

A couple of quick questions for people who have actually got the phone:
1) Is there an easy way to turn the backlight/screen on/off (to save battery) at the press of a button as you can on most other touchscreen phones?
2) How easy/quick is it to lock/unlock the phone?
3) Approx how many seconds is it from when you press the power button to when the phone is fully loaded and ready to be used?
Thanks in advance!

1. Briefly press the Power Button.
2. To Unlock ~ Swipe your finger across the screen.
3. Depends:
Are you talking of from Powering On or from switching the screen back on?
If from Powering On:-
It really depends on how many Apps/Drivers installed but mine takes around 25 seconds from a long press on the Power button to fully loaded.
If from just switching on the screen:-
Instantly.... and can be switched on either with a brief press on the Power button or the Home key at the bottom of the screen.
Thanks for the reply!
I presume the power button is on the very top edge of the phone?
So would I be correct in saying that a brief press on the power button actually turns the display off (effectively locking the phone from the point of view of accidentally pressing something on screen if it's in your pocket for example) ?
But if the home button turns the screen back on in the same way as the power button, wouldn't THAT be prone to accidentally activating the phone when you don't want it to?
I've always found it much quicker to simply turn off the display instead of actually locking it.

The power button is on the side of the phone, on the right side.
If you press the power button on Android it will lock and shut off the screen yes.
and you press the home button on any android device it usually activated the screen and then you have to swipe to unlock.
Thanks...I was getting confused.
So when you briefly press the power button, it actually "locks" the phone and turns off the display and needs to be "unlocked" with another press of this button & a finger swipe.
Is this hard coded or can you stop the "home" button from also trying to lock/unlock the device, i.e. can I simply use the power button to lock/unlock and the home button doesn't do anything in this state??

It is hard coded.
However, to switch the phone on using the Home button does require a significant press and it is recessed.
Very quick to unlock the phone, whether you use the swipe to unlock or the Android 'join the dots' security. I actually prefer this as you have a decent sized clock on the screen.
I presume the Simcard PIN request on device startup works the same as it does on Windows Mobile devices?

How to turn backlight on with dpad or green or red button?

Hi all !
I've just used Niki100 for about a week (used Excalibur before). Just want to ask you guy one question
I'm using ROM WM 6.5.3 Lite by Rataplan.
When the device is locked, after 1 minute, the backlight offs and the system sleeps and I have to press the power button (on top) or slide the keypad up for it to turn the backlight on so I can slide to unlock the device.
My question is : is there anyway to turn the backlight on by pressing the green or red button or the dpad so I can slide to unlock the device ? I dont want to use the power button frequently cuz it may easily sink or slide the keypad up
Or in case it's impossible, is there anyway to turn the backlight off when the device is locked without put it in sleep ?
Thank everybody
Sorry for my bad english cuz i'm a vietnamese

Handy SleepOff Button

How many of you have faced the problem:
The power button is too out of reach to bring the phone out of standby. I used Xperia x10 earlier and the phone will show the lock screen once the middle button is pressed.
However for the Desire HD, i have to somehow press the annoying power button for it to display the lock screen.
Cant there be any other button which can shopw trhe lock screen cuz to reach the power button is not so handy.
Set your screen timeout to something quick. It will lock itself then.
I don't really have this problem as have biggish hands, but I can imagine what it'd be like.
Locking is not the issue.
Unlocking is the issue. To bring the phone out of standby and to show the slide to unlock screen, one has to press the "OUT OF REACH" and designed to "AVOID ACCIDENTAL" press button at the top.
I mean the top button is already a accidental press proof position. It really is a task to first press it ans then unlock the phone. Thats 2 procedures just to make a call.
Can some one mod this?
