t-zones with the x1 - XPERIA X1 General

hey guys i couldnt find the response anywhere, but i was wondering if you are able to use tmobile's tzones with the xperia. this will help me decide if i should get the phone or not because 20 dollar data plan is rapage for me =/
thanks ind advance

There is a way, but its not listed here. Go to hofo and search around for it. But to answer your question, technically/offically, no you cannot use the 5.99 plan on the phone.

i'm using the Tzones plan with my X1. There is limits though, they block a few sites. You aren't able to use the Facebook panel through edge but you can use it through wifi. I also can't access gmail through the x1 program but you can get it through the internet.

mine's working with no problems. pm me if you'd like to know how to set everything up properly. it has to be done manually

thanks for the feedback guys. im thinking about purchasing it tomorrow for 500 =)
i am currently using the htc tilt i love that phone but i just want something new. how are the speed of the itnernet with tzones? also when you say its restricted, if i use a hacked/cooked rom, would that unrestrict some sites? because with my tilt, using the stock rom, i was not able to go on youtube, etc. however, i switched roms to a hacked rom and i was able to browse through youtube with the built in widglets. im not sure if the x1 has the same type of itnerface. thanks again guys.

yeah i use the 5.99 plan for everything. even for my google maps to connect. i haven't had any problems at all. its just a matter of telling the device what to do in the right places lol

MDA, IM, $5.99 t-mobileweb

well I did a search and didn't find out exactly what I wanted so I'll ask it. I think I know the answer but wanted to make sure.
I have have the $5.99 t-mobileweb plan on my MDA using the proxy. After the May 9th patch, obviously only basic ports are allowed now. I can still use the OZ IM that came on the MDA but the MSN Messenger will not connect. I assume this is because it uses full data (as opposed to SMS with OZ) and it uses a non standard port. Is there any way around this without upgrading my plan? Is there possibly another MSN or IM application that uses SMS only or that the ports can be changed on how they connect?
You're doing good if you can even get anything to connect. I cant even get to the t-zones. ie just says opening and then it sticks there after I click the t-zone link. Eventually it comes up with a pop up box that says that it lost the connection, to try again later.
Nevermind, fixed that using the proxy settings. I don't know what to tell you about your MSN messenger though. You'd think they would still allow that connection. You might try IM+ it has msn built in and has a free trial.

AIM program for wing?

hello,
i was wondering if there are any IM free apps for tmo wing, the oz messenger is horrible i think, its very slow, i get like 10 minutes delays between my messages. I was wondering if there are any AIM programs out there that use only sms? with out going online if thats possible , i dont rle know much about phones and stuff, or maybe a different program thats maybe faster or somehow better then the OZ messenger. thx in advance

You will love it.
My favorite IM program is Palringo. http://www.palringo.com
It connects to everything. It doesn't use up that much memory. It plays nicely if you want it to run all the time. You have to sign up with them, but I've gotten 0 emails from them and they work on the concept of freeware. Check it out.
i'm trying palringo, it seems like it will be nice, but it will not let me sign on to AIM. it says that i have been connecting and disconnecting too frequently. but i have never even signed on. every time i click on AIM then change my status to online it says logging in then that i've been connecting and disconnecting too frequently. any suggestions?
keep trying.. after 3 or 4 attempts, it should connect
palringo requires you to have a browser connection to be online.
sooo
does the free aim program on the wing run from the wifi network... or does it charge u on the edge network?? because i was using webmessenger on the wifi i think and wasnt sure if it was actually usuing it on the edge network... and i really dont wanna be charged for the edge network so can i jus use wifi whenever i wanna use aol instant messenger with a free program downloaded to my wing.. ?
u dnt get charge for edge unless you u have a data plan. dnt listen to tmobile. their internet is not like other networks pay-for-use instead it get a data plan or get dnt get sh!t. i recommend getting tzones 5.99 dnt worry wat tmobile say about it (than i help you set it up so u can use it with the best software like im+ & aim 2.0 "offical aol software") pm me
i posted this but someone took it down what i said before is the OZ im suite that comes with the tmobile wing you can find it in the .cabs for wing thread i think just reinstall that .cab i use it for aim alone. it also offers icq and yahoo but i prefer to just use the text version of yahoo... All over a gprs connection which means no added charges ( if you have unlimited texts that is )

Wizard using Wifi

Hey,
I have a G4 Wizard, Model Wiza100(With a Camera). I'm using a generic MDA Windows Mobile v6 rom. I recently bought this phone off a friend, mine broke and I didn't want to pay 100s for a rather crappy go phone. I do not have the Data Plan for AT&T and was wondering if there was a way to configure my wizard to NEVER automatically connect to the internet. I'd also like to find a way to have it be able to browse while connected to wifi. Thanks guys, -Strife
Bumb. Any help guys?
Go into start, settings, connections, tap manage existing connections, general tab and tap delete settings. I think this should remove internet connections settings and you wont be able to connect.
Your phone shouldn't connect to gprs anyway unless you open your web browser or other app (like weather program) without being connected to wifi
Sweet, thanks man. I never really need to use the internet on my phone, I was just skeptical of downloading weather addons and such because I didn't want it to access the internet. Also, everytime I let someone use my phone they end up opening internet explorer anyways. I guess we will see the bill at the end of the month, but this should stop it. Thanks again.

Then download apps that let YOU decide when things get updated.
Also, you could try using NoData from MoDaCo (free registration on site required to see/download attachments). Pay attention to their warnings, though: you must have GPRS settings installed for it to work
It'll basically render GPRS inoperable unless you absolutely NEED it, then you just run NoData again, and enable GPRS, and Bob's your mother's sister's husband.
Sweet, thanks for the heads up. Seems like I had No Data on my phone from the MDA Rom. Alright cool, well now I know how to use No Data. Thanks again!

it also uses an insane about of resources and eat away at the battery life. but it is eye candy.
but i dont have internet so it wont work
Well then... nothing's gonna work you need net to use anything IM wise.....
just use the t-zones proxy hack and you can get internet for 5.99 a month. I beleive there is an IM program out there that doesn't use the internet, but I don't remember the name. Search the closed 7.5 forum as I believe someone posted the name of the IM program and a cab.

That is impossible.... What are you going to talk to bots? If it doesn't use internet how are you going to connect to the people that are online??????
Somewhere in some thread, I have no idea where as I have read thousands of posts, I thought that a few people made mention to some IM program that went through text messaging. Maybe I'm wrong, but if I'm not its a nice option.
i had the t-zone proxy hack be4 i flashed my phone
but now i cant get it to work, ill have to mess around with it. does the cab when it does the proxy setting work cuz i try to use the cab and it didnt work

if your IM worked with the proxy before it should work now too. Just go in and plug in all the proxy settings, install one of the many IM cabs and give it a try.
i got th etzone to work again, is there a way that it stay connected cuz usually i have to reconnect to the internet then go back on aim

T-Zones & Android on HD2

Sorry if this has been asked and answered a hundred times already. I'm just wondering if anyone can confirm that T-Zones still works with the HD2 when running Android. I'm thinking about picking up a used HD2 for my wife, who is grandfathered in on the T-Zones plan and is sick of her Dash 3G. Thanks so much.

If you use a stock HD2 that is running windows mobile then T-zones will still work partially (It is outdated and has been replaced by Android or Windows market on newer phones). The HD2 is best used with an unlimited data plan!
I'm sorry, I don't exactly understand your answer. Can someone please tell me if they have experience with using an HD2 running Android on the T-Zones plan? If it does work, does that include apps and the market, or just basic web browsing?

I use t-zones with Android with no problems. Web, Market, Games all work for me. MMS is a bit hit or miss though. You may have to enter in the APN and details manually but ultimately everything works fine.
