I'm from Austria and my English is really bad, but I'll try to describe my Problem as good as possible.
I'm working with my unlocked charmer (T-Mobile edition MDAII >March2006) since 1 year. I've unlocked the charmer with lokiwiz03 (worked perfektly ), to use it with my Tele-ring SIM Card.
Now I've changed my provider to "3" and today i got my new SIM.
And here comes my problem: My MDA provides me after succesfull booting with this message:"SIM-Card missing or invalid (in German:SIM-Karte fehlt oder ist ungültig)"
WTF???!!
I cannot understand this? The SIM Card is working in other phones and i've made a HW Reset on my MDA II several Times!
Please help me...

Ich hab das selbe problem bei meinem diamond...andere karetn gehen (vom selben provider) nur meine nicht (die ansonsten in anderen geraten funkt)...

I have bought a Vodafone VPA compact II on ebay.
Now i want to install some soft like overclock and Skype and so one.
But first i want to put the best rom on it, which is fast and tweaked.
Ok i found very much Tweaks.
But where i must look for the Roms, is my VPA a Wizard ?
What is the exactly Model name of the original model (VPA compact II is the name from Vodafone) ?
Can i use every Wizard ROM for it ?
Can it be a T-Online rom or also a Mr. Cleans ......
It is german also ?
The VPA that i bought should not be netlocked, but if i play a new ROM on it must i unlock it again ?
I want to use a EPLUS card.

You can use any Wizard Rom you like.
If you want to use EPlus try an EPlus-Rom.

Du kannst in Prinzip jedes Rom nehmen.
Wenn Du Eplus benutzen willst nimm ein Eplus Rom.

Der Vorteil bei einem Eplus Rom ist, daß Du nichts einstellen mußt.

ich suche mich langsam verrückt und finde keine Möglichkeit meinen MDA Vario 2 von T-Mobile A upzudaten.
ich habe hier die Vers.
HERM 300
IPL 1.01
SPL 1.4
und schaffe es nicht mittels PC und SD Karte upzudaten
beim PC bekomme ich den Fehler 260 und von der 2GB in FAT32 SD-Karte mag er mir des umbenannte File auch nicht starten - es erschein nur der Tricolor-Screen und Serial-Meldung - wenn ich es mit dem PC verbinde erscheint dann USB aber er gibt mir kein Menü zum Installieren.
kann mir hier jemand bitte helfen

Well, a lot of things could cause the 260 error. Check out the MrVanx guides. It could be Vista, it could be your version of ActiveSync...
You actually can use non-TMobile ROMs. You just need to use the latest CustomRUU. Find any post from olipro and there is a link in his signature to take you to the right place to download it. Or, a WM6 ROM download will probably be packaged with a working RUU (updater) that will work with a non-TMobile ROM.
Thanks to Olipro and the other developers here, there are not many limits to what you can do!

I have a MDA Compact III with built in GPS and want to use the original WM5 T-Mobile.at (Austria) ROM (t-mobile.at say's, they dont have that anymore ). So does someone have a link or actually the ROM itself for me?
If not possible, do you think I can use an HTC-ARTEMIS ROM (has a Wifi, mine doesn't, ...)? Which (link) do you recomend? There are many - so I am confused
I have ongoing problems with WM6 while using GPS, so I desided to switch back to WM5 as quick as possible

GPS lauft unter WM6, sogar besser, ich habe nen MDA III compagt mit nem WM6 und Blue/black rom... geht superm mann muss nur die Vermindung zu t-mobile neu einfügen unter verbindungen.. macht jetzt edge, was er früher nicht machte...

Are you saying you have two SIM cards in the phone? That would mean you are using a clone, not an HD2 - and if so, no one is going to be able to help you on these forums. There is no telling what hardware or software is being used in these clone devices.
first simcard >> HTC HD2
second simcard >> iPhone
multiSim, one provider, one number, one bill, up to three simcards
both phones get the calls, but only one is activated for messaging (SMS, MMS)
to activate the messaging on a phone (or simcard) you have to dail: *222#
at the moment the iPhone is activated.
and if i try to activate the HD2 i get the error postet above.
sure i can swap the simcards but that is not the sense of multisim!!
i hope this brought light into the darkness ????

Meine Frage, kann ich WM 6 auf meinen MDA ziehen, wenn ja wo bekomme ich das passende Rom her und wie ziehe ich dieses drauf. Es wäre schön wenn mir jemand helfen könnte, such schon seit Tagen, nach einer Lösung.

Nope, no chance to find a running German-WM6 for MDA Compact. You can use one of Cotullas english roms for the Magician, but be careful to choose the right one for your device.
Otherwise you can try to use the search button (or google) for : 'Home.1.01WM5.Installer' and 'home.ppc2003' to get a feeling like the OS with finger friendly touch.
Look for it in the alpine forum, as this device is (and will be) still stuck in WM2003SE.

Habe bereits eine Rom mit WM6 gefunden und T-Online schreibt, WM6.1 geht bei dem MDA Compact. Nun weiß ich nicht wie ich es instalieren muss.

Interesting answer from T-online as cottula is the only one who build a working kitchen for WM6.X for the magician worldwide!
They never release modern builds for it!
