I have just recieved my new qtek s200 with this french rom:
ROM version: 2.9.7.33 FRE
ROM date: 14/2/06
Radio version: 02.07.20
Protocol version: 413.1.03
ext ROM version: 2.9.7.116
Can i upgrade to this qtek WWE rom (RUU_Prophet_2090724_20907106_020720_QtekWWE_Ship)
without unlocking CID first?
Will the new ROM improve the camera function?

WWE is just... World Wide English ;-) instead of french you will have English.
CID is the vendor lock so you can't install other vendors roms, only roms from qtek in my case.
anyway still waiting for an answer....lol...thats ok i got plenty of time ;-)

I've tried to install it but after 1%, my pc automatically shutdown.

Use NoVendorID reflashing utility and have a ROM of your choice... Search the forum for details...

Can I install a qtek WWE rom instead of a qtek french rom (my current rom) without unlocking CID or worring that my s200 will die on me?
After all, both roms come from qtek but since one is french version and the other is world wide english version...i'm afraid it will not be compatible...(plz dont tell me i'm a paranoid) lol

ok Walker, lets see if i understood correctly:
1. I have a s200 with a french rom, and i want to change to WWE rom.
2. I downloaded the NoVendorID rom version for the dopod, and extracted it.
3. Should i just run the ROmUpdateUtility and it will install the dopod rom?
4. If yes, what about CID unlocking?? will I be able to install other rom versions later on?

Don't hesitate to read the forum. All the answers are here...
Be sure, all the Prophets are sure identical in hardware. The only difference is the vendor ID and counry ID in the flash. You will newer damage your device, even running ROM for other vendor. My Qtek S200 now has Dopod 2.15 ROM. No problem! You can use WWE or FRA or RUS or CHT ROM and it will work. However, ROM utility won't reflash if it see the vendor is digfferent. One of the good gays has a bit fixed it to make it less strict.
If you afraid of wolves - never go to the forest. If you afraid of consequences - just do nothing forever. If you want to got WWE - just reflash with WWE ROM. Or go to the service and ask the guys to do it for you.
Try first the WWE ROM itself, if it fails with VendorID error - it's possible, run the same with NoVendorID utility. The only one thing to care about - the right ROM. If you try a ROM for 9100 - you will have a problem, but still recoverable, AFAIK. If you do something really stupid, your device becomes a pretty good black toy for kids, just like a real, but don't works ))))

After 6 mounth of iritation alway loosing GSM signal on my Qtek9100
After 2 traveling the device to Eurotwice (Belgium repair center), first time they told me all is OK, second time they told me the device is brooken because it fall and it is not covered by waranty
After payed 50€ to retreive my device (I hate Eurotwice)
HTC seller's told me it's a knowed problem, just have a look to xda-developers ...

SatScan could you please enlighten me why there was a need for another newest shipped ROMs thread? I appreciate the effort but you are in the one l3v5y started as well (3rd post) wouldn't you agree it makes more sense to keep them in one place?

Hello, I wanted to know whether I could flash a Dutch version into a WWE OS for the HD2. Here is the answer I got from HTC Support :
"I would suggest that you wait till the 13th as buying a dutch device means you will not be able to install an UK updates or the UK version of the OS as doing so would require you to hack the device and that is nto recommended or supported in any way and it would also void your warranty.

Ola,
If you did read the WIKI (yeah XDA have a good one) you found that you need to change your SPL.
So you have to wait for a hacked HD2 SPL.
You can also read there that there are to ways;
HARD spl, The hacked spl is allways there
JUMP spl, only a startup for flash a other rom that time.
Also you can read there how bring back your phone to default if ít's needed, sending to servicecenter and so on...
So keep a eye overhere and read the WIKI

Yeah (WWE) i think so there is no UK version jet...
If you gonna try... the HD2 has a CID lock so will not flash with the wrong country ROM.
You can set SENCE countrycode with a reg tweak.

Does this mean you can flash it with offical rom without hardspl? (chinese to wwe)
firstly use sn and imei code and check your phone's regional country .after that choose the correct regional english official ROM.
for example . your phone is english east european countries. you can download the English East Europe official ROM and directly flash without any hspl. I tried and it successed .
ok i just got new htc hd2 in croatia its unlocked with generic htc rom ,Rom is
1.48.479.1(71294) WWE says on phone ,but as i try to download new rom from htc site it wont allow me to download new 1.66 rom with my serial its says sorry this software is not suitable for your device but in that rom version it clearly says ROM Version:
Norway:1.66.409.1, Spain :1.66.412.1, Denmark:1.66.403.1, France :1.66.406.1,
Sweden:1.66.413.2, Italy:1.66.408.1, WWE:1.66.405.2
that WWE that means i should download it with no problems ,can anyone know what to do i emailed htc already ,what that WWE means and can anyone explain to me why they wont give me rom on my phone it says WWE and on that new rom it says WWE:1.66.405.2 so i relly dont get it anyone pls explain help really apriciated ty

Sounds to me like an eastern european rom, not a wwe. You will not be able to flash wwe as it is a different region. You need to go read and read and read teh HSPL threads.
yea but in phone it says WWE what u think will there be offical 1.66 for that part of europe or i need to hack it to install i am total nab obout it i just got it with 16gb micro sd i was reading here alot before i got it ,i just got it becose of that 1.66 rom that sms bug was keeping me away from buying it now when 1.66 was out i buy it and cant get 1.66 on it lol damm htc well ill go read hspl threads but will i lose my warranty and will anything be difrent as that other roms are for other regions

You won't lose your warranty because the are directions on how to get the spl back.
