Edit wakeup-music - Touch Diamond, MDA Compact IV Themes and Apps

Hello
I'm so tired of the annoying wakeup-music/tone, which goes with the alarm. Can I, and if so how, edit this into a music-number? It must be in a folder in the root, but which one?
Thanks in advance

in windows folder and pls try search button first next time

Have you ever tried opening the Win-folder? There are a lot of files in that folder and therefor I asked. Your answer didn't help me anymore than my very first post.
Won't someone tell me, how to change this? I would love to have a nice ringing tone tomorrow morning!

Galarm...is a must app when it comes to alarms.

How to enlarge reply box in threaded SMS screen?

Someone has asked this before but I can't find the thread with the answer in...
There's a way of enlarging the edit box above the keyboard when typing a new SMS in threaded mode so that you can see more than two lines at once.
I think I remember that the solution involves editing one of the .htm files in the Windows folder (or something like that).
Can anybody tell me which file I must edit please?

Cheers John.
I prefer not to use cabs though as i like to know exactly what i am doing when tweaking and would prefer not to decompile the cab to see exactly wtf is going on!
I take it that cab replaces the wav file all together?
If you didnt want to do this you can simply go to:
HKLM\Software\HTC\HTCAnimation\StartupWav
and edit the name of the wav file in that key ( i added a character to its file name so it would be easy to change back if needed.)
was just looking for your post! does it work properly? the stuttering tone at the mo is a tad annoying!!

Yeah, tell me about it! What's the point of putting a startup sound if it stutters? It makes the whole device look cheap right from its first powerup.
All my cab does is replace the wav file with a tiny silent one, therefore saving precious ROM space. It works fine for me, and I've not had any complaints so far.
Where is startup tone located?
Hi
Could someone tell me which folder the startup tone is located? I wanted to replace it with my own wav.
Thanks

The edit of the name is how I did it and it works fine.

HD2: Can the lock slider change to bottom?

Does anyone know how to change the lock slider to the bottom like the iPhone? please help. Thanks.
search "S2U2" via google.
problem is I'll slide twice as both two lock screen programs are running
For a start, there is a way to turn off the default lock screen if you're using S2U2
Tip 27 from the Hints and Tips thread (I strongly suggest you read it all)
Tip 27. Disable Auto Screen Lock
If you use S2U2, you would have hated the double lock annoyance. Now you can turn off default Auto Screen Lock.
Go to HKCU\ControlPanel\Keybd and change DeviceLockWhenSuspend to 0, or use the following cab:

Second, you don't need to use a 3rd party app, you can just run the HeartOfWolf Lockscreen mod in my signature and it'll move the slider to the bottom of the screen for you. I have no idea why they put it at the top?

Simplest and easiest is this:

Can you explain a bit about this one rather than just post the cab please
You can try the HD2 Mini lockscreen cab..it's quite good, just don't use the PIN unlock.
It's slide down to unlock and it tells you any missed calls, SMS, emails etc...i quite like it actually..

You can also take a look at this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=632637
At the bottom, the OP posted a modified 480x800 cpr file to do want you want. All you need to do is change the extension from .txt to .cpr, open file explorer and put it in the Windows\Lockscreen file and soft reset.
EDIT:
Also, if you are using the HeartofWolf Mod and would prefer to have the original larger slider size instead of the small skinny one, I've made a few modifications to his LS_LockScene_480x800 and attached it below. All you need to do is change the file extension from .txt to .cpr and install it into your windows\lockscreen file, soft reset and you're good to go. Of course, please back up the original LS_LockScene_480x800 before installing this one, just in case you would like to revert back to the small slider. And of course all credits to HeartofWolf, I just made a couple of changes to his work.

It literally swaps the slider and phone location on the lock screen, nothing more.
Another nice solution is DJ Pete's locksreen. It's a simple modification of the windows lockscreen with manila clock, calendar appointments and slider variations. You can find it at pocketpc.ch in the thread
[Lockscreen] iLook v3.0c [NEUE VERSIONEN!|WM6.5/6.5.x WVGA][27.02.10].
! It's in German.

Kandekied, to get you started, go into your windows directory inside file explorer and open the lockscreen folder. Next, copy the file LS_LockScene_480x800 somewhere onto your PC and open it using notepad. That particular file is for Portrait. If you want to modify landscape also, then copy LS_Lockscene_800x480. With the file open on your PC in notepad, you are now ready to begin modifying. The particulars of what you want to do would take alot of space on this post to describe, but to get you pointed in the right direction, I've copied a few threads for you to look at that will help you get started.

You see, this is why I asked for more information about this in the first place. I never install a cab that I've not read about first and that people have tested a bit. You should always link to the thread a cab came from, not just the cab.
Also, chill out. You installed a cab from a random thread and it wasn't what you wanted. If you have to hard reset it's your problem not ours.
If people don't reply to a post it's because they either don't want to or don't know. There is no point in wetting your panties and posting multiple times. It's more likely just to p!ss everyone off and make them not reply.

Custom SMS/Notification tone, possible?

Hi Guys,
Just got myself a X10 the other day. First time Android user here.
Just wondering if its possible to set our own SMS tone in X10.
I just can't find anywhere in the memory card that I can place the tone into.
Do know that the default tones are in the phone system folder but we cannot paste files into that.
Anyone have any clue or know how?
This has already been answered before in this forum.

On the SD card you have a folder called "media" in this folder there is a folder called "audio" in this audio folder make 3 new folders "notifications" "ringtones" and "alarms". (The notification folder may already be there)
Place your rintones in the "ringtones" folder and so on.

I have this app called Tone Picker, it does the job.
I am just curious as to how to do it manually.
The easy way is use Ring Pro apps.
OH! Found my fault.
I spelled NOTIFICATION instead of NOTIFICATIONS.
Now its working fine.
Thanks to hush66 and everybody for the help.
LOVE my X10.
