Wisbar Advance - Pushing 'Start' button opens 'Clocks&Alarms' - annoying! - XPERIA X1 General

I have installed Wisbar Advance 3. After running it for a few mins, pushing the start button gives a quick flash of the start menu then opens the clocks and alarms progam! Anyone had thbis same problem?

Lakeridge Software has a really good support forum. The developer behind the software, Chris, usually answers questions within a day or two. You should ask there

Ive found out how the problem is caused...by sliding the phone open. I soft reset my phone and kept it closed. The phone booted and Wisbar started up.
Everything was fine and pressing the start button opened the start menu. I then slide the phone open and now when i press the start button the start menu flashes up and then goes and then the clock and alarm program opens!

i have now fixed it! If you go into Wisbar Advance settings and then into 'Start menu', the 'Overlap taskbar' option needs to be unticked. Hope this helps anyone who is also having this problem

Delay in opening the start and input menu

HI its me again..
on my WM5 dopod OS I m facing a problem...
When ever after a soft reset immediately when i press the windows menu key it delays opening by around 2-3sec...
but after doing it once it opens immediately the next time i press the menu key...
also i m facing similar problem with text-input selector (one we get while writing a message/email )selecting the t9/keyboard/HRR etc..
While i tap the inputchanging key in middel the menu is delayed here also by 2-3sec its really irritaring me..cause this happens evertime ...even after soft reset.
just for your info i have loaded resco fullscreen keyboard, resco keyboard apart from default input methods of phone pad, hand writing rec.etc...
Will this causing the menu to pop-up delayed by 3sec or so....
thnkz
The first time that you open the start menu, the device needs to read the Start Menu listing. When you open the Start Menu after this, the files have been cached in memory and therefore the menu appears instantly. There isn't really a way around this and to be honest, I don't see a problem.
As for the input method list, I have the same problem and I am not sure why this happens. Maybe someone could clear-up as to whether it performs some kind of re-enumeration or integrity check for the input methods when the menu is opened, but this certainly has nothing to do with Resco Full-Screen keyboard.

S2U2 and sms notification query

Hello all,
I have a couple questions regarding my Touch dual (HTC with dutch original rom)
I like S2U2 very much and it's a little annoying that a received sms shows in a window on screen even though S2U2 is active. I 'd rather look on my phonealarm link to look at my sms. I know you can disable this in the settings menu, but every time i soft reset, it keeps reverting to the old setting (ie "show message in window"). Any way to avoid this?
Also, does anywone know how to go straight to the message by clicking on the phonealarm link (instead of going through the menu containing all the received messages first)?
Secondly: I would really like to power on the screen using the action (center DPad) button. I thought i had found the solution by not locking the buttons in the S2U2 menu, but apparently, the DPad is the only button that doesn't power on the screen when locked with S2U2.
I tried installing AEButton plus, and assigned an action to the button, but apparently, S2U2 (just like S2V and S2P, all great programs by the way) overrules AEButtonplus.
So any way to turn on the screen with the center DPad button when the phone is locked with S2U2?
I've been searching, but haven't found any answers to these questions.
Thanks for replying!
anyone know the answer?

Change Start Menu Button action?

Is there a way to change the behavior of the Start Menu Button? Basically i'd rather have it simply show the today screen rather than the actual menu. Alternatively i'd even prefer that it ignore the press and not show the menu. With many of us already having application launchers on the today screen, the start menu is redundant.
I apologize in advance if this is inappropriate for this forum.
To avoid not being able to access the start menu at all, you could enable it with a long key press of the start menu button.
Tap = return to Today Screen
Hold = show Start Menu
This would seem like a nice thing to have. Is such a thing possible? Perhaps with Mortscript?
What PDA do you have?
If you have a PDA/phone you just do a single press of the "hang up" button?
WM itself doesn't allow to change the start menu action. However, it's possible to put another app on top, like WisBar Advance, SKMenu, and similar tools do. But I don't know of any free and lightwight app which only replaces the start menu button.

Click to collapse
I agree! Have searched this for a long time, but it seems it can't be done.
I would love if Visual Task Manager started when i press the windows icon.
Please return if you find a application to replace the start menu button. Thanks, i offer a kiss in payment
This program will do it. http://www.freewarepocketpc.net/ppc-download-gspocketmagic-v1-32-19.html
Just that the icon becomes so ugly but i think it's worth it

qmenu

I searched, but only found one thread as to where to get Qmenu. Does anyone use it? I really like it, only I can't seem to get it to open every time when I hit my start button. I know there is a setting for it to replace the system start menu, but even checked, it only sometimes opens the Qmenu by default, and usually opens my regular start menu. This app would be great if it opened every time when start is hit. Anybody have a solution?
In the options there is a setting that opens the regular start menu on long press. I set my long press to reboot. If I dont take the start icon quickly it will give me a reboot dialog box. See if its just a tap speed issue you are having. QMenu is awesome and the newest version is really sweet.
I love qmenu, without it WM seemed too simplistic & tedious.
Had the same 'problem' about the start menu too at first, but I was new to this diamond & too heavy handed. The baby needs caressing gently.
haha thanks for the replies guys, I was just being stupid and did not realize that hitting "start" and hitting the little windows icon are too different things. hitting the button in the middle opens up the regular menu, and the small icon opens up the Qmenu. I guess I just wish hitting start (easier) would open up Qmenu

Dial and home button inactive

Hi everyone! As the title says, for some strange reason this morning my 'Home' button won't work from any application, the button however does make the screen light up and the buttons light up, but does not take you back to the home screen... also, when at the home screen, the dial button would usually bring the contacts or the dialer page up, but this is not working either, however, if I go into the contacts shortcut on the home screen and select a contact and press the dial button there, it will call them...
so basically, my main issue is the Home button not working!
Its not rooted *yet* and is therefore running a standard rom, it does have a fair few apps installed tho, but I have used the advanced task manager to close everything... I'm v' new to all this Android stuff as up until a few months ago, I was a Windows Mobile person with my previous SPV's and HTC's so any help would be greatly appriciated!
Thanks, Adam.
