HTC Album with Rotate - XPERIA X1 General

anybody can help is locating and Album application that supports rotation with geasutre ???!!! i hate opening the keyboard just to do that
the original application does it with "L" geasure but that does not work on the Album in cooked roms i tried. how does a funtion like that simply gets disabled when it got ported to our x1?

there is no album that does manual rotate in wvga as the devices that use it have accelerometers so handle the rotation that way.
use s2v it does what you want.

thanks for clarifying it. guess i was confused with the manila2d
just tested the cool s2v. thanks i like it a lot
question: how to i assign the softkey to do a lanscape switch in the htc Album only?

Wow that's great!! I didn't know, that editing the tabs is possible.
What else do you think is possible, to make the Music Tab to a real usable MP3 Player?

Maybe it's possible. But i prefered to implement a reductible bar like in landscape mode. I'll try it in future release.
cool, but really little on HD... Any chance to have it in WVGA as well?

Yes, but i have'nt a HD. I'm a touch pro user. So, i need to install an emulator. It's not my priority.
Three things I noticed:
Cover Flow is a lot more smoother than HTC's version
The "Menu" button has lost it's function.
When sliding the covers with a finger-wipe, the song title doesnt change
Do you think you could do it in WVGA? So the new Diamond 2's and TOuch Pro 2's (of course HD too) could use it. In WVGA the cover could be larger.
very nice....working cool at my touch pro...thanks

That's not an issue. The goal is to allow you to parse your album while you listen a music. In next release you can tap on an album to see the music it contain and select one to listen directly.

I cabbed it for you just to make it easier. Cab has your name on it
Installs as TF3D AMP by Fredz
The physical buttons and onscreen buttons work but if you flick through the coverflow with your finger the image changes but not the album in focus. It's a great start though.
Think you could make this work with the new rhodium manila by any chance?

how can you do that and what is the programming language that you are using?

good work man, nice to see somebody finally sorting out this horrible mp3 player cant wait for the next release, keep up the good work!
Thumbs up! Love this mod!
Installed flawlessly (cab version) and runs like a charm!
On my Touch Pro, the menu button works just fine.
Cheers
Is it possible to make this list just the albums and not all songs like teh coverflow?

Threaded SMS Horizontal view?

Hi guys!
Was wondering if it is possible to tell G-Sensor to rotate the ThreadedSMS orientation in compliance with how the phone is being held. (horizontally or vertically)
I tried capturing it with TD2 Tools, but since the category is "Manila" the whole TouchFLO3D interface rotates too. By itself actually really great, only that the Sense interface (Manila 2.5) doesn't support horizontal view on many tabs, thus them becoming blank when flipped.
So yeah... is it possible to add JUST the Threaded SMS to the whitelist or not?
Thanks for answering.
-Rag.
+1 to this question from me. i'd love me a horizontal view (just finished tweaking my fingerboard setup. BIG keys ftw!)

There is no "whitelist" for HTC sense landscape mode, it's just that the device that it has been leaked from, the HTC Leo, doesn't have a keyboard and is not a primary landscape device and the Sense that is designed for it doesn't include landscape on all the tabs. It's like when the Diamond and the Touch Pro came out with Touch Flo 1 or 1.5 (I can't remember) but the Diamonds TouchFlo had no landscape mode and the Touch Pro's (kindof) did.
So the bottom line is that until some devices like the Rhodium get an upgrade to Sense, then we won't have landscape in the other tabs, unless someone decides to design it themselves.
Hope that helps,

Not quite what I asked...

Ok, I guess my post was a bit confusing.
I'm very well aware that there's no "whitelist" for HTC Sense and that most of the tabs don't support landscape mode. (Only exceptions are actually Photos and Music) But G-Sensor, thanks to TD2 Tools, is very well capable of turning the display and many tabs work quite well... INCLUDING the message tab and threaded messaging.
But some other tabs, (as you, and actually even I stated in my 1st post) like the home tab, don't support landscape, turn blank and display only the taskbar and the wallpaper when turned horizontally.
I want to clarify, I do NOT want to be able to force landscape to ANY part of the TF3D interface (=all the tabs from home till settings). I only want the landscape mode WHILE TYPING a THREADED Message.
If you actually turn off threaded messaging and switch to classic mode; OR if you start a new message it rotates flawlessly. (WM 6.5)
So 2nd try, a bit more clear this time I hope: Is it possible to add ONLY the Messaging screen to the Whitelist of G-Sensor. Again, not talking about whole Manila turning, just the SMS WRITING part of it. NOT the TAB in TF3D.
Thanks for the help, and thanks dwizzy130 for being the first one to answer.

I think he is after the Sense threaded messaging in landscape as if you start a new sense message you can have it in landscape but once there are actual messages it won't let you.
I too would be interested in this as I prefer to type on the landscape keyboard...

Precisely! And yeah, the only reason I care about landscape mode is the more type-friendly keyboard.
Attached are some pics to clarify it even more.
Image 1: The All Message view of the Sense interface. It CAN rotate. When you click on a message here it takes you to Image 2.
Image 2: Threaded SMS. You see all the messages in the conversation, iPhone style. Screen does NOT rotate. <---- I wonder if THAT can be fixed.
Image 3: Started a new SMS and then added a recipient. Screen rotates flawlessly. However, previous SMS Exchange does not show up.
Well heres to any smart ideas.
Cheers,
-Rag.
it is possible
it is possible to have threaded SMS to be in landscape mode the only problem is that it is a bit odd. Unlike the Touch pro 2 when the touch diamond 2 goes landscape on threaded sms you cant see the last and the one sms after because the bar to type is blocking it. but if you still want to try look up how to put touch flow 3d in landscape mode, or Manila on landscape. hope that helps
i found it, its a registry hack (this is not mine the credit goes to whoever found it)
To basically use Manila in landscape mode, there are 3 registry mods needed:
1) Add string value to HKCU\Software\HTC\Manila
String: EnableLandscape Value: true
2. Add string value to HKCU\Software\HTC\HTCSENSOR\GSensor\ModuleName
String: TF3D Value: \Windows\manila.exe
3. Add string value to HKCU\Software\HTC\HTCSENSOR\GSensor\WhiteList
String: TF3D Value: Manila
to add this i suggest you use CEregeditor, or any other registry editor you prefer. good luck
Nope
HTC Sence does not support landscape mode on the TF3D Interface. That's only for Manila 2.1. I already explained that landscape can be forced but it's corrupted. So thanks mate, but not what I'm looking for.

click the first thread on themes and apps. or just click on my sig (skyler17) and you'll find a few auto rotation software
Change Screen: Another program to autorotate your screen according to the G-sensor. Works even in TF3D. (freeware) ~Thanks Mektah
Also try looking at this post has other great software
rather than installing extra software that has to be constantly running and using memory, just install the g-sensor lists from this post (g-sensor programme lists in cab file), then add additional programmes you want rotated using g-config from this post.
work great gringolian. much thanks bro!
thx
thx very good help
or to add other prgrams use this
set the app running, then open the app you want to rotate and insert stylus and thats it done close both down

Interesting for Chefs!!
Have you ever noticed that the Album version of the new Roms is very laggy in sliding between the pictures when you turn your phone in landscape mode?
I found 5 min ago a solution when playing with the registry, in which the Album slides smooth in Landscape AND you can use the picture overview in Landscape.
In

i think it's useful for chef as it can easily be included in rom instead making us fiddle with the registry
what exactly does this improve? is it sliding between pictures when viewing full screen landscape or when the device is rotated on the photos tab?
if its the first, then it can also be accomplished by removing the entries in the Gsensor whitelist - thats how ive been doing it.
Great find.
Not only does it improve the landscape viewing, but it avoids/solves a bug in the recent HTC albums where you could confuse the sliding sequence when changing the physical position of the HD while continuing to slide.

Too bad it doestn't work for me. In portrait mode, the pictures slide very smooth. In landscape mode it's still choppy and slow, even with this change in the register and a softreset. I think it has something to do with the g-sensor. Is it possible to totally disable the g-sensor or at least when turning the phone in album..?
I've tried about 6 different roms and they all have this problem, i hope someone can fix this.

It's first
But the difference is, that the picture view (this where all pictures are listed in a grid) could be used in landscape mode furthermore.
With the removing of the whitelist this would be impossible!

Which version of HTCAlbum do you have? You see the version also in the Registry path were the tweak has to be added.
I tried it with Dutty Holy Grail R0 2.1 And the Album version is 3.0
And I don't have to make a soft reset... wierd...
Great discovery can you do that for the calculator and htc music
MOD EDIT
Moved to General discussion forum
i have noticed that roms with os 6.5.1 has a very fast rotation and fast scrolling in landscape mode both for pictures and music (i just check on chinehe v.2.3)
and the rotation registry value is still "1"
so, maybe the solution for slow rotation and scrolling can be found starting from here + terrorhuhn discovery
a smart guy could find it and share for us

To speed up scrolling through pics in landscape go to HKLM/Software/HTC/HTCScroll and change "velocity_factor". It's set at 10000 and I've changed it to 20000. You might want to set it to 40000 just to see the increase in speed and then back it down from there. This setting will also increase scrolling speed in, among other things, the favorites tab, internet tab, and increase scrolling through albums in the music tab while in landscape. This tweak may very well be the one in HD Tweak, I'm not sure, but whatever the case, you can set it how you like.

You can hold device in your hand in either portrait or landscape, i.e. vertically or horizontally
Depending on what rom you are using landscape mode may not be available for TF3D as its only available on manila 2.0+
You can use free apps to rotate screen including gyrator, changescreen, flipit. Quick search in apps/themes forum should find them
Alternatively flash a later rom which has landscape functionality built in
