Is anyone able to access their phones radio description / capabilities through software? I mean a display showing
GSM 900 / 1800 / 1900 vs. say GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
or 2100MHz UMTS/HSDPA vs. 850 / 1900
for example?
Please advise.

Audiovox SMT 5600 - GSM 850 / GSM 1800 / GSM 1900 or GSM 850 only?
The SMT 5600 supports these frequency bands: GSM 850 / GSM 1800 / GSM 1900. The difference between that and the SPV C500 is that the C500 is on GSM 900 / GSM 1800 / GSM 1900.
Basically, GSM 850 is used in the US while GSM 900 was used in Europe (nowadays Europe uses the 1800 band afaik).
shandar, 10x!
Hi!
Is there any application, code, hack or something that I can use in my Wizard to show which GSM frequency it is using to connect to the network (850, 900, 1800 or 1900 Mhz)?
Thanks!

I have a HTC S521 (Maple100) with UMTS 900 / 2100. I need to use UMTS 850. Can I change this?
Thanks
i want to know if this cell phone will work with this band GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 this phone is locked with claro and i want make it work with tigo, also if this cell phone work with this band is there a way to unlock on this forum?
thanks in advance for the answers
unlocked versions do:
Gsm 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
wcdma 850 / 1900 / 2100
I doubt the locked ones have a different radio (physical one). The software is a whole other story.
I have flashed the generic XEU bada 2.0 firmware on my unlocked Bell Canada Wave 1 and now my Bell SIM no longer works because it does not have the UTMS 850 frequency, but works with my Rogers SIM.
I'm just wondering is there is a modem out there or if i can use the modem from the 1.0 firmware that came with the phone so that it will work on any Rogers/Bell and Telus?
These are the frequencies i need in the modem.
