I was browsing around for an extended battery and the Seidio 1500Mah Battery was nice but doesn't seem to offer much added capacity.
I've had an account at www.daydeal.com for a while and I found this here:
HTC Touch Pro OEM HTC 1800Mah Extended Battery for just $54.99.
That's more my style. High capacity and still OEM.

Question though, does it actually work with it? Reason I ask is I just got the Fuze today (blasted AT&T stopped "producing" the Tilt) and I'm looking for a bit more juice--and a bit less fingerprinted back cover.
Thanks!
Did anyone order this?...
we need to see some pictures showing how thick is the device after putting in the new battery and the cover..
and most importantly does it block the GPS Signal?
thanks...i really hope someone can comment on this questions because i can't wait to order this
Judging by the epicture it doesnt look like it will add much thickness.
I dont think it will block any GPS signals if it was made by HTC.
I want it...But I am not sure if I really need it yet.
EDIT:
Now that I think about it... It will give you about what? A third more battery life right? Not that bad if it can have a small footprint.
It seems to be worth it. I still haven't gone a day where I needed the Extended Battery yet but I've only had the phone for about 3 days now. I haven't had a true test to determine yet.
My only concern is that my Fuze has a glossy back cover and that this cover might look "off" if I were to buy it.
Very true but at least it is black.
I actually like it. I hate the glossy black cover because the phone slides everywhere. My last phone was the Samsung Blackjack which had that rubberized coating which remarkably saved the phone from knicks and scratches. After 3 years the phone still looked (and ran) like brand new.
I've been looking for something like this. I ran an 1800mAh battery in both my Blackjack and Epix and it seemed to last forever. I think I'm sold.
[EDIT]
After searching I've also found this, which looks a lot like the 1800mAh battery w/ the standard back plate:
http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/product/17445.htm
Yoni, from Expansys, says the thickness difference will be "only be a few mm"

I'm with you on the rubberized plastic. I came from Sprint and had a Vogue which is rubberized but it just wouldn't look great(to me) on my Fuze.
To everyone else, here is another extended battery that player911 linked to in the post quoted here. It's more what I was looking for by far.
http://www.mobilefun.co.uk/product/17445.htm
IDK, Maybe it's just me but it doesn't look like this would fit. The bottom of the battery cover isn't cut out to fit like the one in the picture of the one I posted above.
The picture above showing the back with the diamond back is NOT for the Fuze or TP (no opening for the light). I have one of the HTC BP E272 and it doesn't add a lot of depth, the contrast between the rubberized finish & the gloss on the Fuze is fine, doesn't look like a mismatch, then again, I looked for the original TP cover for my Fuze as I didn't like too much shine.
I want it but I dont think I really need it yet.

It always has to do with the "WANTS" I can go a workday with the stock battery but I have to be careful in managing connections and push mail, with this extended battery, I hope I don't have to worry too much by turning things ON/OFF.
I broke down and ordered cuz I noticed my battery dop a bit on a call over bluetooth. So I am just waiting for it to come.
Please share pics once you get it.
Same, on eBay 39.99$
I ordered this because I lost my battery cover and still don't know when Ill get my cover back. So I figure I'd give it a shot...
Will let you know.

EDIT:
It shipped today via UPS!! Yay!
Ok Here are sum pix. I got it yesterday. I was just too busy to post em early.
I think it is worthwhile if you need the extra juice, it is actually very reasonable considering a back cover runs $20+. Now I just need to find a charger so that the idle unit can be charged up.
I think It looks really good. & the phone feels so much more solid too.
Well, am not really sure - am worried on the thickness. It does look bulkier than the original, which is already not that thin. Hmm... I think that one can really go for it if he had a day when he ran out of power. Something like this should be enough to convince me I think...

I didn't want a transformers style carkit for my Kaiser so I bought a magnet off ebay for a PDA - the Krusell one for £4, it comes with a thin metal plate you attach to the back of your kaiser and the magnet you attach to your dash. Well, it takes a lot to impress me and I must say it looks the business, also means you can have the Kaiser where you want it and not cradled low down. By chance I had my Tomtom Go wired in the dash from the cig adaptor and it's the same fitting, so a bit of re-routing and I have a carkit for £4 and 10 minutes of my time....priceless.
I'll post some pics when it's light ok.
Thank you for sharing, also will you please post the eBay auction you bought it from?
thanks
dont forget the pics. I think that might be a simple way of using the phone in the car
Here's a similar item on ebay - item no 160199677279
Total price incl postage is £5.50 (it's a UK item) - the full description is KRUSELL QUICKMOUNTER MAGNET MAGNETIC PHONE HOLDER
Pics soon ok.
They also sell this at sfplanet here in the States. Bought all my Krussel stuff from them and they ship fast and are not too expensive. Think this is what he's talking about...

Looks real good and for a great price even with Canada shipping 15.00 CAD beats all the rest, just got one thank you
Can someone find a pic or maybe even take a pic of what this looks like when it's attached to the phone? As I've said in a previous post, I'm pretty leery of gluing anything to my baby. Maybe when I get my Seidio kit I'll stick one on that.
It's gonna take some convincing though.

Yup that's the one - enjoy!
Just for info...
Be aware that the sliding keyboard uses a magnetic detector to operate and if you suffer strange turn-ons (take a cold shower! ) you made need to use S2U2 or Kaiser Tweaks to disable it.
Same goes for some cases that have magnetic catches, they can sometimes turn your phone on inside the case when inserting.
OK, as promised:-

I don't actually own one of these, so I cannot tell you for sure, but from everything I have read and understand, nothing actually attaches to the back of the phone. The powerful magnet attaches to your dash and then just holds your phone there through magnetic attraction to the battery through the plastic cover.

As long as there are no issues with keyboard sensor (sliding sensor), I would be all over this. I like the clean look.
JB
prob is that you cannot tilt your phone in any way with this...
i gotta say it is a nice solution if you have a spot on your dash that is a good angle for your phone... i dont though so i have to get a mount with an actuating arm.
Haven't got a pic of the back sorry, with the krusell kit you get a very thin (1mm) plate which you apply to the back case of the Kaiser. This acts as the bond to the magnet. The instructions say you can place this plate inside your battery cover but their isn't enough clearance on the kaiser - it's hardly noticeable anyway.
I've been using mine now for 3 weeks and no problems, the magnet holds fantastic, the kaiser never falls off or moves when mounted. Best carkit I ever had.
Man, I'd love to see a picture of the back of the Kaiser with the plate on it.

This might ruin it for me, but I would have to see a picture. The price for the thing is very nice, but I don't really want to stick something onto my phone.
So i was browsing cnn.cn and found this :
http://cnn.cn/shop/tytn-iitilt-full-housing-orange-p-2243.html
Thought it was kinda cool but do u guys think it is truly OEM? I haven't seen or heard of a kaiser variant being released in this color.
If i didn't have my rubberized siedo case i think i would definitely do this.
I don't know if it is oem but I don't really care, I love it. My only issue with it is the price. Just too much money for me.
Jeff
Its not a full OEM thats the reason when you look at the back screen shot you see where the spraypaint job finished. I still think its sexxxy I just wish it had HTC branding on it

I'll try to get some pics of the process, as long as i doesn't break my concentration in the disassembling/assembling proces...
Have you read the service-manual? There's a lot of screws i gotta keep track of...
Actually, the screen is the only part that's really broken, and needs replacing. But i figured that while i'm at opening up this sucker, i might as well get the other housing in the same go to get myself a really unique phone . I also ordered the sliding mechanism, because after a few drops before the fatal one, the mechanism has become a bit too loose; it doesn't seem to hold the screen-half and keyboard-half together that tight anymore...
The package should arrive by the end of this week....and i'll be sooooooo happy if i can ditch that Trinity backup once again... (after i verify that all hardware works ok again, i'll flash it with WM6.1 too)
I liked the look of the silver version .. HERE

It doesn't say what the material is i.e. Steel / Plastic ?
I like the idea of a 'brushed stainless steel' look, but only if it's really brushed stainless steel
Perhaps the steel would impair the GPS and GSM performance though
The service manual for the Kaiser is Link removed - no longer valid
There's a particularly good breakdown photo-story of the Kaiser HERE
Let me know how you got on.
If I was to get the silver one, Id rather it have HTC on it like it used to, Im proud the fact that I own a HTC lol, also it doesnt even have GPS embedded into the rubber, kinda lame.
Package arrived today!!! Wooot!
But alas; the slide-mechanism wan't included (or robbed from the non-sealed box)...
Gotta wait some more....
(But the orange housing looks coooooooooool!! and the good news is that the keyboard is included in the housing!!)
Ooooh what does the keyboard look like. We need pictures I really want that orange case.
it would be nice to have some pics to see the completed transformation... have anyone finished it yet?
i happen to have the orange housing on my tilt. ill post up pictures when im back home. the quality is cmparible to oem but its not oem. ill get into details later

According to the website it IS OEM... Although there ain't no branding from HTC... They claim that needs a sticker or something.
You can read all that here ...see specifically points 4 and 7.
And i can't wait for that sliding mechanism (i'll keep it as a spare part for when it's more urgent), so i'll get unscrewing in a few moments
I was just looking at that the other day. The orange case is definitely cool and different looking. I am a silver freak so Id definitely go with the silver, I just pray I dont have to.
Good luck and post some pics.
Any pics yet?
anything yet lol?
Sorry I like the sleek design of the OEM covers, black and silver. Those were my alma mater's [high school] colors so I learned to love them!
I personally think the orange is cool looking but it would draw unecessary attention to my phone, i.e [theft]. The silver is okay! But with silver buttons, that's just t0o much silver for me!
Has anyone found anything through skinit.com?
I sooooooo totally forgot about this thread while 'enjoying' my 'new-look' Kaiser... and ofcourse i'm too busy with @&%# WM6.1 hickups...
But finaly here they are; the pics from my shiny orange TyTN II
Btw; the doctor's gotta operate again, cause the slider needs replacing (they forgot to pack it in the first shipment)...
it looks damn nice! love it
I love it
lesson learnt last night, dont ride a bike in the dark while looking at the phone (checking route on gps) bike went one way, i went another and phone slid along pavement about 30ft. phone works ok but case badly scratched new case is on order.
ok, so what i need is a hard case, plastic or aluminium which will cover phone with extended (double thickness) battery. yes, i searched already.
Where did you get the case? I find it nowhere.
My battery cover was damaged, please share the link if you find it somewhere.
got one off ebay. some have htc logo, some dont. search for 'HOUSING COVER Kaiser'.
also try http://cnn.cn/shop/p4550-tytn-kaiser-c-277_447.html
edit: you only want battery cover? how about google 'kaiser battery cover', that might work ;-)
Check here -> www.seidio.com
is this the case?
http://www.seidioonline.com/ProductDetails.asp?ProductCode=CSR2YCG8925X-BK&Show=ExtInfo
it says its only for seido batteries and mine is an unbranded double thickness one.
standard battery is 5mm and mine is 11mm thick. also it doesnt look like it protects the screen, i only need to see the screen.
still looking.....

Try this;
http://www.boxwave.com/products/armorcase/armor-case-htc-tytn-ii_2905.htm
I'm currently looking into adapting this case to mount to the bars or stem like a standard cycling computer, so I can use my TyTN2 as a do-it-all device for mountainbiking. I'll obviously need the extended battery to use it in this capacity (GPS navigation and datalogging, Bluetooth MP3, calls and text, etc) which this case can support, as well as being quite protective. I was thinking it could ride safely like this;

i have the seidio case, and it's actually "yes" and "no" in terms of battery compatability. the outer case will only fit over the replacement back included with the seido battery, or a back that isn't larger than the seidio back i guess. but any extended battery you can fit under the seido replacement back will do (i use both mugen and a sedio extended batteries under the back)
it doesn't have something to cover hte screen, but it does give more depth to the surrounding ridges, and maybe a screen protector can help with the rest...
the boxwave looked interesting, and i was about to go for it, but i notice that it has a bump only for the battery, which closes down at the caemra and speaker area. that means a different type of back is needed for that also.
at the moment, i am just using the seidio rubberized case over the seidio replacement back. when i travel, i've had a leatherworker modify a leather case (one of those that provides full access to the keyboard etc. but has a flap to cover the screen when not in use) for me to fit around the extended dimensions, but i guess this is not what you need.
@Barkleyfan: cheers, the boxwave one with screen cover looks to be just what i need.
have thought several times of mounting on bike like that, would be ok for road use, but then i remember how many times i have seen my bike bouncing down a hill on its own and me on the deck usually i keep the phone attached on a lanyard and in a padded case fixed on my backpack shoulder strap, but would feel better if it was also in aluminium case. i think mounted on the bars like that is just asking to get broken.
My riding is getting conservative these days, so I don't worry about wrecking hard enough to hurt it. I worry more about a splash from a creek or something.
@Barkleyfan "I was thinking it could ride safely like this" down the side of the snow covered mountain, and you call that conservative. i am not in your league, that would scare to **** out of me! or... is that not your bike
lol Nah, that's not my bike. That's Jill Homers bike. This is mine;

Batteries performance degrade overtime so are we able to change A500 battery if it is degraded or can we even upgrade it with a higher capcity in order to achive better performance?
Is their a tutorial for such procedure?

I was thinking about that this past weekend. That's one of the few things that I would like, that it currently doesn't have (a user replaceable battery). Although, I would imagine that we could find a battery that would work with it and replace it, if we didn't mind opening it up and voiding the warranty!

Of course the battery may be soldered in, at which point even if getting the case apart without an issue is easy enough a soldering job would be needed. I would guess the warranty would be long since over by the time our batteries start going.
Sent from my T-Mobile G2 using XDA App
google openiong iconia or something like that
There is a walk thru I Sen a week or so ago on replacing battery and so on. I think this device snaps together at the seems at top and bottom. Ibhave notices the button of mine is a bit wider crack then the top. So I do think this makes sense.
By the time my A500's battery dies enough for me to care, I fully expect to have replaced the tablet itself. My Droid's 2yo battery hilds up fine still under much harder use (including hotter processor and case temps from overclocking and from living in a car mount.)
There is a post on androidtablets.net that shows the tablet partly dissembled. I can't post the link because I don't have 8 posts.
I pulled the battery out of mine just now. It is not soldered in. The case came apart very easily using a pampered chef plastic orange peeler, and just easing it into the seam and following it around.

The back of my box said 3260mAh x 2 ( 24.1 Wh ) ... is there 2 batteries ??
you mind taking pictures showing the steps of dissecting this baby ??
BTW ... that attached pic is way too small to see anything ( at least I saw the plug...that's a good thing )
Once I find the good camera I will take some better pics of how to tear it apart.
Try the link below for a better pic.
I am pretty sure this little plastic job has 2 batteries in it, as it looks to be segmented into two compartments. Also, the leads seam to indicate two batteries.

Thank you in behalf of all the Acer Iconia owners who are curious to see how we can crack this one open. You are one brave individual for trying and succeeding and making it possible for us to see how easy it is to do so. More reason to love the Iconia, replaceable battery!
Let us know if you find a Mini PCI-E slot while you're digging in there.
thanks BVDRAX! Great job man!
The average Li-on battery carries a ~3 year useful life. More likely than not, three years from now most of us will have a different tab and you'll still be able to use yours over a/c.

for about 4-5 days now.. ordered it off Amazon for a STUPID cheap price.. and i must say.. wow. 5/5
I normally like Mugen better, and i'm going to get a mugen battery whenever they make one..but this a GREAT replacement for the time being..
i have a PEBBLE BLUE T-Mobile galaxy S III as well.. and the White back actually looks really nice MIXED with the blue!
Also i love the FEEL of the back.. i actually like it better then the Stock GS3 itself.. it adds more weight and SOLID feel to the overall product and i LOVE IT! it's better then a stock GS3 by far.. actually feels like it's own new phone.
The battery life? definitely top notch.. i get by 3 days sometimes with heavy usage, texts, FB.. Sync turned on GPS.. all of it.
Highly recommend this... :good::good:
.......me want...IF there was a case, take some pics please? C:

Edit Again : Could you post a picture of the inside of the battery cover? With it being so bulky, i would like to see how strong it looks?
Alright ill get some pictures for you guys =)
Also you want battery stats? should i wait until it's drained all the way down?
The back battery cover is DEFINITELY stronger then the stock SGS3 back.
How long does it take to charge with the stock charger?

The only problem with carrying it as a spare is you also need to carry the battery cover. But if you were to order two of them..... use one as your main battery and carry the second one as a spare and you don't need to carry an extra battery cover.
BTW, anyone know how it might compare to this one? It looks pretty much the same but comes with a charger. http://www.amazon.com/4300mAh-Exten...external/dp/B008ARDVM4/ref=pd_bxgy_cps_text_b

I did not get this one because i don't even see a brand name listed,
Hyperion is a brandname i can at least recognize
I ordered this as well and after a 1 foot fall off my bed onto carpet the rigid plastic battery cover broke a corner off. IMO the back is not as good quality as may be advertised here. YMMV. I'm using the stock battery and an otterbox now for the protection.

Well i can't vouch for dropping it.
in all the years of owning a smartphone every single iphone model, several android models i've never done any brutal drops to my phones. ever
**the other thing is... it's 15$.. i mean crap.. you can't even beat that as a BACK replacement.. take the battery out of the equation most BACKS would probably cost 20$ if found in the mall..
So 15$ its a steal. buy 2 if you need to.
is there a 3000 mah that doesnt require a new back?

I don't think so.
Do you know if Wallet still works with this one? I read the NFC antenna is part of the battery

From my understanding is only the OE battery supports any NFC function.
