Are there any good threaded sms programs available???
there is a simple cab that will fix that. Just do a quick search for WM 6.1 Internet sharing
wm6.1 comes with threaded text
OMJ's custom ROMs come with the tethering app.

I tired vito, I tired txtman, I even tried the Palm SMS and none of them worked correctly. This software will allow me to be more productive. Thank you.

as far as i am aware the 6.1 threaded text can not be run on 6.0.
use extreme text.
on Win Mobile 5 or 6 to get threaded SMS is
TxtMan 2.0 (Need to have .Net Framework ) or PocketCM
yes problem is I have tried all of them and none of those work right on my device.
what phone are u using?
Is there any way to get threaded SMS working on WM 6.0 without having to run a separate application? I would like to be able to replace the built in sms client with something capable of threaded sms, rather then having to deal with the pain of another application.

No that's not possible... ..you say you're using a Smartphone? What phone are you using? previous apps are ment for PPC or Windows Mobile Professional only.
well you have a smartphone, not the same as windows mobile, so regardless you don't have the proper device..
and threaded sms is?

Looks like IM messages...you see a thread type message with what has been said with that particular person before.
It IS possible. The Threaded SMS was ripped from Palm and replaces the ordinary SMS, with a few registry edits, it works amazing.
I disagree.. ..the Palm threaded SMS is ment for Windows Mobile Professional. Not for Windows Mobile Standard.
The TS uses a Smartphone (WM Standard), not a PocketPC (WM Pro.)
is there any way to make extreme text recognize MMS?
I was using extreme text before I had to HR and it recognized mms for me.
I have a Daxian x999 running windows mobile 6 pro. I just updated my wifes dash to 6.1 and I would really like to have a threaded SMS option that was seamless. Everything I have tried is too different and does not seem native enough. so I understand...
as i have read, AT&T has released the 6.1 update for their phones. so my question is why won't T-mobile release the update? sure we got an update for the Wing that slowed down the device in some people's cases. but i want 6.1, i want the threaded sms from 6.1. i don't want the palm sms that disables mms, i don't want a 3rd party app that requires adding each contact to that program just to be recognized, or one that requires the touch screen.
i do not want a fake ROM either, i want an official one from T-mobile or for someone smart enough to make a cab of the messaging program from WM6.1 and make it usable on the Wing.
I recently updated to WM 6.1 and everything is great and all except the mms!! i can send and recieve but when i recieve a picture it is automatically reduced to the smallest size. I have no idea whats going on but i need help please!!
This topic has already been discussed HERE and no solution came out of it. I believe its a ROM issue and am currently learning how to edit my own ROM that is how far I'm trying to go to fix this lol
Hi um having serious problems after restoring my txt messages in dutty with manila 2.5 nevertheless i like manila 2.5 and the rom but i cant live with sms problem in my phone here is my rom version:
RUU_Dutty's_HD_WM6.5_Leo_2_5.2.23016.5.0.3_1.59.709.0_Radio_52.62.25.34_1.14.25.24_R2_MSVC
I had the same problem and switched back to Manila 2.1 ROM because even replacing HTC messaging against WM Messaging did not really help. You can try that in Miris Manila 2.5 ROM with WM Messaging: If one click on "send text message" on the contact card or one reply in Manila to a received text message everything hangs because Manila tries to load the message history.

m8 I think it's not possible to install "something" to replace htc messaging. Miri cooked a 2.5 manilla with and another without htc messaging as is still buggy - probs with sms and cannot send mms
I have some success in reverting back to the pocket outlook for sms and even have mms enabled, however, the problem I am having now is the unread count doesn't show up in the tab although new messages I'm still notified.

a little bit annoying but working workaround could be the usé of 3rd party app.. even if theres no manilla integration, it should send sms.
on manilla roms I use flexmail.
hate da bloody HTC extension ****.
I don't fancy 2.5 rom's but I tried new versions from energy and pdaviet and as far as I know these bugs were removed

I do not think so. At least in the Energy thread the SMS bug is still reported. If you restore many old SMS the HD will hang.
what kind of SMS problem u get?

it's performance problem dude. Once you have more than 100-200 messages, the whole messaging apps will claw.Looks like HTC did not do use case analysis and just code based on a 20-message test cases.

I havn't put a cab together yet, and now I'm back to R12 after toggle between R12 & Leo R2 for at least 5 times yesterday just to find out what causes the count indicator not to be displayed.
In the meantime, you can do a google search on arcsoft and try to use the old version of arcsoft.
Ok, I'm moving this thread to general forum as its not really to do with rom development
Hi there. Firstly I would like to wish all of the members of the forum a Happy New Year!
I have been running my HTC universal with the TOMAL v85 WM61 20764 rom image for some time now and find it exceptional, however, now my wife has moved into the 20th century and is capable of sending MMS messages I notice that there is no MMS capability to send or receive on my Universal.
Does anyone know how to install the O2 MMS App for the Universal? I have the original ROM image that came with the Universal, but do not have the knowledge of how to strip the app out.
Any pointers would be extremely appreciated!

ok just install the following app....
Thanks for the reply Rajivshahi, but this app was not designed for Windows Mobile 6.1 and does not appear in the Programs list.
Does/did anyone else have this issue on the O2 network? How do you receive MMS messages?
I have done a search on this topic, both here and in general web pages and can only find details of thesettings to use, however, when I go to messaging I do not have an MMS section, only SMS and email.
Yours perplexed....
