Hi, I have a BlueAngel (Orange SPV M2000) and I performed a upgrade to 6.1. My phone was working till I done a softreset and now, if I take the battery, softreset, it will say "Phone is off". Restart it properly and then it comes up No Service, strange.
Radio ROM: 1.15
OS: 6.141WWE
Protocol: 1337.45
PS: When I softreset it, it says Radio: NONE, Protocol: NONE.
JBITKILL
hi, that is more than certainly true, and it happens to all of us, in my experience, it happens with every blueangel, and every wm6 rom, it is quite comparable to the 4colour screen, it happens with every rom here ad nobody knows, what way there is to change it.
Taking out the battery is not a legit way to soft-reset your device, although i see, that on wm2003se it behaved the same then. since on wm6.1 there is a bug, that in comm manager the airplane mode doesn't fully work and, if you don't have pin control set for your sim, it restarts the phone occasionally, so restarting via removing the battery for a sec is a good way to bypass that bug. so conclusional:
- there is no problem with your device, it just comes with upgrading it.
- whenever you want the phone off, while still having the opportunity to access every other function incl. wlan and bluetooth, restart by taking out the battery, because comm manager wouldn't allow that to work
well, This problem is associated with the incompatible phone dll (which governs the GSM bands selection). The problem with it is that, any asian network wont be picked by blue angel (WM6 or 5 doesnt matter) coz they have a different GSM band configuration which i personally dont know. Also the selection of GSM bands doesnt work too. The old WM2K3 one doesnt provide full compatibility to all asian networks which is the major drawback to all the WM upgrades here. No one is still able to solve this problem. (yea i have tried the radio version downgrade/upgrade too).
You may tell us what GSM bands ur network uses. The same problem is stated here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=297099
no body still got luck in the solution to this problem. and its sad that i have to bear the hard reset every time my battery runs out (its running out of life too coz of this screw hard reset, I have to recharge it after 50%)
Re:
I have hard reseted the BA (NO, YES, YES/Enable KITL: NO/Clean Reg. Hive: YES/Format Storage: YES)
It seems to work? But now I reset the lot, take out the battery, put it in = Radio: NONE! That's okay now since if I softreset with a pin = Radio: 1.15.00. Just the No Service thing was confusing me.
GSM Bands: GSM-1800 (UK, O2)
hye budd, that battery problem is for all versions of WM5/6/6.1 just soft reset ur device and it'll be okay.
Luckyyou that u r in UK, The tri band support sux on BA here in Asian Countries. Still on old tinky O2 Asia WM2k3 rom

what do you mean you reset a lot?
we only have that Radio:NONE when we change batteries or when we flash new ROMS / hardreset too.
using WM6+ it's fair to say that it's normal on BA to sometimes boot with Radio:NONE after a hardreset/flash or battery changing.
i think it's has something to do with initializing the radio/phone modules after powering on. kinda let the first boot heat it up, then stick the softreset to get it working.

I have Qtek 1010 and I have flashed ATT new released A.30.09 ENG. Generally it works fine.
Sometimes, and I am unable to observe when and after what operation, it just searches and searches for the network (that is the indication I get at the bottom of the antenna icon). It never finds the network, the "turn off phone" or "turn on flight mode" function also does not work. Soft reset does not work. It becomes terribly sluggish. The only way out is hard reset.
Has this happened to anyone? Is it a radio stack problem or the OS problem? It has happened to me all the time: when I had original Qtek ROM (I think version 3.14, after I changed it to version 3.16, with 4.00.05, 4.00.11 (cooked).
One more observation: Sometimes everything else is working fine, but the GPRS does not connect at all. It says the remote modem is not responding or something. When I turn the phone off and back on, it starts working!
It's not really a big issue but it is certainly annoying. I have bootloader version 5.15 and Radio Stack version 3.23.01
Try the GSM menu in the bootloader and select "Reset GSM" ... plz do NOT select a different band!!
Thanks for the suggestion. Sorry, I forgot to mention that phenomenon - If I enter the bootloader, I don't get the usual "GSM OK" prompt and hence can not access any menu under bootloader.
maybe you need to reflash or change the RSU, but since it's the most risky tasks, I wouldn't recommend doing that except it's really annoying, and your better do it through your operator or qualified place.
Thanks.
That is exactly why I am avoiding doing it. I have read so many sad stories about crashed devices while flashing RSU (though I have done it once and it was successful - but I would think a million times before doing it again).
First and foremost, I must know that the problem IS indeed associated with RSU. Next is, what RSU upgrade is suitable for my device? Our service provider has no idea whatsoever that this type of device does exist! I had a tough time finding out GPRS settings for my device. They do provide and it does work, but they are more familiar with people using laptop computers with mobile phones as their GPRS modems.
I believe the best RSU for Qtek for Asia is 3.25.01 ... I had it before changing the mother board and it was pretty stable ... http://www.carrierdevices.com.au/do...ic&PHPSESSID=36cb61b97c050374d946824d537f3af5
Good luck ...
I've loved my Blue Angel for 2 1/2 years thanks to xda-developers, but right now I just wanna throw it away!
I have a Cingular SX66 (PH20B1) running WM6 from Xplode (6.00.00.WWE) and the radio 1.15. After I upgraded to WM6 everything was kind of OK I thought, until I realized that sometimes calls weren't getting through to me and I was getting 'No service' too often. That's when I upgraded the radio to 1.15. I was getting the no radio error, but I found through searching that if I soft reset and keep the phone charged the radio comes back.
Here's my problem.. even when the phone gets out of 'No service' and finds the network (even showing me full signal strength) I can't make calls! Calls won't come through to me! It's pretty useless as a phone, but it seems to be usually able to send text messages if I have the network. It takes endless soft resets and long waiting just to get it to see the network, and then the phone still doesn't work.
The sim card is fine, and it seems the problem is the same if I downgrade to 2003SE (by the way, I only seem to find T-mobile ROMs that work.. don't know where the WM2003SE ROM is I originally had on here).
The phone only seems to work sometimes if I after I soft-reset, I make the call while the BA is still on the cradle.
If anyone knows of a solution I'd really appreciate it.. on WM2003 my SX66 would only act funny if the charge fell to 60%. Now it's wacky with all the up/downgrading/charging/soft-resetting I've tried.
Thanks!
Additional info
I don't know if this is related, but I have the storage almost full of installed programs and the device is much slower now. Also, the Data Connection buttion is grayed out in HTC Comm Manager.
The phone seems to be working right now. Give it an hour and it'll probably be wacked again
Final solution for 'No service'
Hi burnblue...
Try this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=340557
This resolved my problem...
1) In WM2003 and install bandsel .CAB
2) Choose a band of your operator gsm/country (in Brazil, for my operator is 900/1800Mhz (Operator "Claro" and "TIM")... here in Brazil we have another operator what works in 850mHz (Operator "Vivo").
3) If you want, upgrade your rom for WM6 (much better)... your band selection will be fixed (came to wm2003). I don´t undertand about fixing a band remain after rom version upgrade... No explain about this.
No more issue about radio gsm signal, be happy....
Works perfect to me, I´m 100% certain about this procedure.

"no service" is a issue...
Your problem about slower is another problem...
Storage full ~ slower... I had problem´s about these in anothers pda´s.
Take easy to storage your files, much components in today screen, etc...
Use sd card, this help.
Upgrade for Wm6 (xplode rom) and be happy...
WM6 by xplode is faster.
What´s your radio rom version? 1.15 ?
If < 1.15, then upgrade....

Thanks for the advice rod, but I still have problems.
1. I saw that thread too, and it's not that I have totally 'No service' -- I have signal but calls just won't connect. It might work one minute, but 90% of the time it just doesn't.
2. I can't find a working ROM for my SX66 to downgrade to 2003. I remember weeks ago when I was trying to fix this I think I found a T-mobile ROM, but nothing is working for my downgrade now.
Why is my phone radio so unreliable?
Strange problem...
I have some tests for you...
1) Do you enable PIN ? If yes, then disable.
2) Do you upgrade your radio rom to 1.15? No? Then apply.
3) Do you have problems with anothers gsm chip ? Your SX66 is gsm or cdma ? Possible issue in your gsm chip, maybe... Try another gsm, another operator...
4) What´s the message errors or problems with upgrade or downgrade rom ?
If your sx66 is a cdma phone, sorry, I don´t have any idea how to help you.
In this case, ignore all my questions. My experience in Blue Angel is about gsm...
Take care...
(Send a message if you resolve or not this case...)

Hey. I'm a new user
Bought an elf bout a month back, but the phone has big problem. Randomly, it doesn't ring when someone calls! Shows no missed calls either. Messages don't come as well.
And all this is very random. Some calls do come through. some don't.
Googled and found that a lot of peeps have the same problem. Supposedly, the phone doesn't ring when it is in sleep mode.
But i've had the problem even when i've had the phone constantly on and just locked.
I've tried soft reset but it doesn't work...
Should i get the phone replaced or repaired
Or is there any other solution.
I tried searching this forum but couldn't find any threads related to this problem. There was no information in the wiki either. Can someone help me???
I have htc home customiser, slide to unlock and a picture viewer installed. Original rom
Try hard reset, but remember to backup all your data before. Contacts, appointments, files etc. And better remove SD and SIM before doing it.
Well. Tried hard reset.
Unfortunately did it before i read your reply and did it with the card and the sim in it
I did back up all my data and contacts though
But the problem still persists
I guess i have to make a visit to the sevice centre after all...

Problem after Upgrade
Hey I have a similar problem...
I upgraded my ROM and since then I cannot turn off my Phone cus if I do when i turn it on the Radio (as in Network) WON'T WORK! Even after I insert pin # it just says there are no networks available although every other phone in the house has network... I've tried rolling back to my old ROM (Blue Elves) but the problem persists...
Do you think maybe another Radio version would help?
The new ROM I installed had the latest Radio version and still, same problem... I'm stuck with a phone that has no signal...
Can anyone help?
Thank you!
even am having this problem of not receiving calls.....i even tried a radio ROM upgrade but still the problem exists...damn irritated....any solution for this?
Similar Problem
Maybe CPU don not support. All functions well, but when I connect wireless, Bluetooth and GSM (long call), mine friezes. I have no solution.
Same problem for me too.
I even took my phone to my provider and they messed around with the IPL, SPL and ROM but still could not figure out what's wrong. I get txt msgs (didn't bother trying outgoing) and I can connect EDGE and GPRS but can't make or receive any phone calls.
I did notice sometimes the phone searches for a network but can't find it (even when locked to my provider).
This has to be a common problem. All other functions on the phone works fine.
Please if any of you find a solution, share it with the rest.
Thanks
Onix Light Version Rom Cooked by myself.
FOR ELF/ELFIN
This version cooked by myself solve the problem of unexpected shut down on 50% and 30% of the battery. A ONYX JR. 4.1.4 (Lighter) was cooked with the last radio IPL & SPL.
I have tested about 20 different Roms and I found some stability in a HTC Touch ELF with this cooked ROM. Similar problems occurred with various IPL & SPL and radio versions.
I supposed the hard code for this OMAP850 with speed of 201MHZ is too heavy for all the functions working at the same time. With some rom versions the battery goes down like 20% in 10 minutes with All radio functions (wi-fi, BT, GSM). I supposed it´s solved.
Mine is working for 3 days without reset.
Please feel free to try. Mail me to [email protected] , because I don´t know if I could post a link here.

Hello every body,
as i see, many pepole have the same problem here, as i have too, for some issue no service could be found on Magician or what ever name it has, my own one worked fine for 2 years then stopped receiving service from operator, not stolen, as gift from a friend than travel too much, i give it to him to test it abroad, and it worked fine on some operator and not at all on other carrier, i have now a smartphone but can't leave it with out understanding what happend,
i have tried the last rom from cotulla,
tried rom upgrade, radio upgrade ....
finally i' got an idea, the problem apearseas i remember after switching gprs on from operation, and some times when the gprs can't be detected the divice worked fine back, and by testing, changing band and other network related stuff i finaly got a message that says to turn off the connection data to use the gsm network back,
i don't find a proper way to do it,
if some body would try this perhepse that's the real cause for this damn "No Service" message
PS, with wwe o4 from cotulla, the green light indicator blink again but the phone don't pass calls

i think it's not logique but the persone how told me that used to have the same trouble and by changing the bat every thing goes right for him
i'm living abround then to get a new bat it's a real chaleng then i leave it in wait for confirmation before asking some pal to bring me one

qtek s100 no service
Hi guys,
I need your help repairing my S100.
I was trying to sell it to a friend who would buy it if it worked with the sim card found in his Vodafone HSDPA/3G modem. Then he inserted the card, found network, then after a few minutes it performed a soft reset.
Then it said(where the rom version is)"bad radio".
Then I performed hard reset, when it said "No radio", then booted up.
Then after a few minutes, it got frozen.
Then I did a soft reset and got a red message"bad radio" and it won't boot.
It only boots up after hard reset, then it can be used as a PDA for a few minutes. Then freezes, then it will not boot again until the next hard reset.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks
I have the same problem - tried to use different sim cards and different ROM's and nothing - no service at all - the phone just give an error :/ any idea's how to repair it ?
I have :

O2 Xda II Mini
With :
HTCMAG_ROM_WWE_O4 - http://cotulla.pp.ru/Magician5.html
I had the same problem and accidentally fixed it.
Perhaps I was just lucky, but why not try switching to different SIM card, cleaning it, put it on different mobile phone, and put it back on magician.
Here's how I did it:

no radio
i have trouble in my magician to...after upgrade rom and radio to 1,12...know my magician is cotulla wm 6.1, but cant make a call and sms...on startup no radio...somebody can help me please..?
Just got a nice used Jasjar/Universal. Has factory defaults. It won't connect to the same GSM carrier (AT&T) that my HTC Wizard does. Is there anything I can do, or am I stuck with an unusable phone?
Thanks
Must be a local problem of your Uni
It must work (if unlocked) on any part of the world using:
Dual-Mode UMTS/GSM
Tri-Band GSM/GPRS (900/1800/1900) + WCDMA (UMTS) (2100MHz)
That means no 3G in America but you´ll be able to make calls and use Edge
Said that you could try a hard reset, or changing radio and/or ROM
Instructions on my signature link
Hi there!
You were right, the phone did work. I'm not sure what happened.....all I did was charge up the phone overnight, and tried again in the morning. So, it was either -- the battery didn't have a full charge, or perhaps the SIM card wasn't seated firmly.
Anyway, it's working now - just made a couple calls, everything is good.
Any suggestions on what ROM to use for an upgrade? I used the "Touch Diamond" WM6.1 ROM for my HTC Wizard, so I'm kinda used to that... a lot of the ROM links you have, don't have many screenshots, so I'm not sure which ROM I'd be happiest with.
Thanks
Glad to know it worked
I always recommend Tomal ROM´s, go for 8.1 or 8.5.
