PDF READER ???

Hi does anyone know of a PDF reader/viewer that will work on the xda exec (universal)?
Iv download and tried to install adobe ver2.0 (latest) but this fails to install,
Can some one recomend another application?

My JJ has a PDF reader already installed, is this not also true for the Exec?

Did you not get ClearView with your XDA? It comes on the applications CD.

SAME HERE WITH ME ...UNABLE TO INSTALL ADOBE!THATS RUBBISH ACTUALLY.

I´m able to install it in the device, but not in the storage card.
To use it in storage card i´ve installed it using a Windows Mobile 2003 SE device, then inserted the SD in Universal, explored the folder and there will be an executable that is able run Adobe 2.0

THATS GOOD ADVICE thanks justhave to borrow someones WM2003 device,
do you think that you can upload the insalled folders from your sd card then it should be straight forward as to coping that onto my sd card? or would that not work?

I think you will find that a PDF viewer was actually supplied with the xda Exec. Just check both of the CDs you got with the device.

what happend was i had to return my 1st device that i recvied due to one of the hardware buttons not working so what i must have done is put the cd into the box i sent back thats why i couldnt find it, i just called my mate who also got the exec and asked him to go through his stuff and he said he has it

Usually it should be located under "program" but they put it under "start"
i must be blind when i start searching through all the system

nice to have a forum for gene....
i've have a dopod d600...i have a little problem with this one...i've been using this for 8-9 months...now there are multiple taps on the screen automatically...it goes on for about 9-10 times and stops on its own...it looks as if my dopod is possesed....ghost!!!!
i'm not a technical person...i'm a doctor...but i managed to do rom upgrade from 1.02 to 1.07wwe...
any help would be great....coZ when i'm in a call the call goes to hold mode automatically and even if i unhold it goes back to hold mode...about 7-8 times then becomes ok.....

Its not the software,its the actual buttons that keep getting 'locked up' in the same position(I used to get that with the action button) Try checking that.

the action button was indead the problem now i've fixed it and the phone works great.....about the 1.07 wwe version i got it from on of the forums here in xda-developers....go to search button on this website search "gene" watch the last colum for gene related topics....i used to get "invalid vendor error"...then i used FlashBootSplash also available on that forum page followed the instruction given in the read me file and lo behold i have 1.07 now..very happy....if there still is a problem i will upload once i get back (i'm going out of the country for 2 weeks)

I have succed to create a wm6.1 rom on my MIO P550, but i have a little problem :
When i want to open the brightness , it open and close immediately !
It will be OK on wm6, but not with wm6.1 !!!
Have yo some idea ? problem with CPL file ??
Any other solution , can I use an other Brightness file ?
Or it is a driver problem ?

Could be the following:
1) Driver issue. Make sure you have the correct device drivers!
2) *.mui issue. If the apps don't have the correct localistation, they won't load at all...
3) may be a direct incompatibility... Nothing you can do about that, other than get files from a WM6.1 ROM.

Are the *.cpl files from a WM6 ROM, or a WM6.1 ROM?

Did you also use the *.mui files from that ROM?

Humm no i just have recopy the folder in OEM\DRIVERS, and the BACKLIGHT.exe

But this backlight ( backlight which coms from MIo A701) open, but no changes when i slide !

are there any *.mui files there?
They may be in OEMLang...

So, i will try tomorow with the MUI files

I have replace MUI files and backlight.exe from the MIO A701 ROM !!
So i need to search how to re-link the backlight.cpl to the new backlight.exe !
Or convert backlight.exe to backlight.cpl

Using the control panel registry settings, you can link to an EXE...

there should be a reg edit for it i dont remember but check in the rom development and you will find it there

you have to edit one file in the Windows folder.
Called: "HH_0409_WeatherCities.xml"
You have to search for your Location on one Page ... but i don't renember the name
After you have edit the file you have to copy it to windows again ... for this you can use "RescoExplorer", couse the file is Protected.

I'm searching for the \Windows\Poweron.gif / Poweroff.gif nobrand files.
I have a branded IT_TIM Blackstone and I'd like to change those horrible startup/shutdown animations..
Can someone post the 2 files of a no-branded Blackstone?

Hmm ... seems there are no such files on a nonbranded device. Resco explorer configured to show everything, but they're simple not there.

I've used the Advanced Configuration Tool 3.3 to see the GIF Startup/Shutdown files:

Perhaps in a nobrand device they're in another location..

I searched the whole device, but nothing. Maybe another filename? Or is it to simply delete them which does the trick?

gave that tool a testrun, now its clear:
Startup GIF: animated.gif
Shutdown GIF: default
