Hi there,
So a few months ago I was just turning on bluetooth on my Wing when all of a sudden the touchscreen stopped working. I thought it was frozen at first but I realized that my buttons were responsive but my taps on the screen weren't
Eventually I ordered a replacement LCD with digitizer. Unforutunately I put it all back together and the screen is still unresponsive. Is there anyway that it could be the fault of a bad cooked rom?
I've tried numerous hard resets. The LCDs are also not exactly cheap at $50 a pop so I dunno if I lucked out on getting a defective one.

My advice is to contact HTC

Hey guys, my freind had a sprint Vogue and the touch screen quit working so he gave it to me. Every thing works fine but that. Iv hard reset, reflashed, tried to operate it through MyMobiler, banged it on the computer desk. Nothing works. any ideas or do I just have a new paper weight? Hes already went to sprint and said he lost it and got a new one so sprint will be no help. I really just wanted it for a genuia pig. but its no use when its stuck at the setup screen.
Thanks
Had this problem before, I remember turning the power on, trying the screen, turning it off, on trying again and etc... it worked after a few rigorous tries.
Iv turned it on and off probably 100 times and still no luck. plus the hard reset and reflash
You could try replacing the screen with a spare part from...somewhere. Not much more I can say, that's about as far as my knowledge goes.
Thanks, Im hoping it dont come to that
Sounds like a dead digitizer. You're going to have to either find a new digitizer and going through the hassle of replacing it or replace the entire screen.
which part is the digitizer. I had the same problem with my vogue and bought a part off ebay which i was 99% sure was the problem. its the small electrical board underneath the dpad. There is a connection that the ribbon from the outer screen connects too.. Does anyone know where i can find a replacement for that part. The one I got from ebay looked exactly like the one from my vogue but when i plugged it in it would cause my phone to shut off. They said it was for the GSM touch not the CDMA
Today, when I was switched on my Nike and tried to write my SIM cards password, I realised that touchscreen is not working. I tried to press various places of the screen but with no luck I made some reboots but again the same luck... so propably is not software problem. It's very difficult to use it only with it's keyboard and it looses its usability :S Is there anything I can do to fix it up???
Recently I came onto the same problem, at first the screen didn't work and then the screen just became black.
I opened up the phone and saw the flex cable had been scratched, so I bought a new one at ebay, replaced the old one, and wolah... worked like charm. Got my old phone back, installed a new 6.5.3 ROM and I'm LUVIN my "old" HTC.
Search for HTC TOUCH DUAL NEON 300 FLEX CABLE REPAIR LCD SCREEN US
I bought mine in Iceland, (Europe) but I think that all the flex cables are the same in all versions of the phone.
Thank you for your advice
Thank you for your advice,
I didn't manage to change the flex cable yet, because the touchscreen started to response again, but just for 3 hours... Now it does not response again. The screen now displays everything fine, but if I touch nothing happens. I can only use it by the keyboard. I heard that in most chases, scratched flex cable turns screen white or black, it doesn't affects the touch(screen). But I'll give it a go
For a bit time ago i accidently broke my lcd display on my hd2, and because htc could not fix this cheap i decided to try myselvf.
first i ordered a lcd and a new digitizer and soldered them together and fixed everything just like in the video and the lcd started to work, but now my touch pad does'n work! I can't do anything
Then i took the screen out and ordered a new one from ebay which was assembled from the shop.
And same resault
what could be the problem? I have a danish hd2 and i have tried to update the firmware after i replaced the screen and digitizer and still no respond
what could be the problem?
hey, did u fix the digitizer yet. i had a similar problem. the volume buttons got stuck in and i decided to open it and fix it. right after closing it back the digitizer stopped functioning...............please let me know asap if u managed to fix urs and how u did it thanks
Same problem here
I've got the exact same problem. Replaced LCD and digitizer but it is still not working. Additionally the screen is a little yellowish. Anyone knows if this might be related and any idea who to possibly fix this?
Hi, I have exactly the same problems, even tried with 2 fresh new digitizers. Could it be that they are extremely sensitive on the inside? Or is it some glitch somewhere?
Extremely frustrating!
Sent from my HTC HD2 using XDA App
well mine is in the scrapped now. when my digitizer arrives and i sort things out i will get back to you
Hi, I bought HD2 with broken digitizer, so after it came to me I immediately buy new digitizer, didn't look for the cheapert but once again I resolve myself to never buy things for china digitizer doesn't work so I need to new one from USA, send it to my friend and he repair it within day, now everything work... and yes digitizer are very sensitive
Well I had my HD2 for about a year and a half. All was well till a few weeks ago when the screen stopped responding after when I held down the power button to make the power down menu pop up in Android. Of course I worked around this and used a shutdown app. So all was again well till today when the screen stopped working completely on wakeup. I couldnt even unlock the screen. Finally after dozens and dozens of wakeups I finally got the screen working again now fearful of touching the physical buttons on the bottom of the screen. From reading it seems like the digitizer is at fault for this and I need to replace it.
So I am wondering what would be more practical, just getting a digitizer or just the whole screen assembly to avoid the problems of regluing the screen to the digitizer? I'm fairly technically versed and I do have a heat gun and tools for this operation but I really do not want to bump into a problem of either getting air bubbles or dust under the glass.
Has anyone ever replaced just the digitizer? If so is it hard to remove and replace and simply not worth the potential saving in money?
So I bought a HD2 with bad touch screen. The issue was the very common one that every one knows, red button that was poking into the touch screen flex cable. I opened up the phone and fixed the issue and touch screen was working perfectly fine. In the process, unfortunately, I chipped a little edge of the front glass/digitizer. It was not a big deal as phone was still working fine. But I decided to buy a new front glass.
When my new front glass arrived, I separated the digitizer/front glass from LCD, but then half of my LCD got corrupted. So I ended up buying an LCD too!!!
Now comes the issue: when I put the phone together, touch screen doesn't work at all. I have tried all combinations of NEW / OLD digitizer and NEW / OLD lcd. Nothing works. I wonder if anyone can help me figure out why?
P.S. When testing, I happened to connect the phone to my 5w wall charger directly connecting it to power pins (without battery installed). Would that be why I lost touch? Is the touch issue now because of motherboard that was directly connected to adapter, not getting power from its designated battery?
have you tried the old lcd with old digitizer (which was working)?
tried it before replacing?
did you made some change to the software before replacing?
I currently have this problem too while trying to revive my old- almost 3 years inactive- HD2 with new touchscreen, and still trying to figure out where is the problem

Yes I had tried the old LCD, and that didn't work either.
I installed a WiFi Keyboard on it.
Did you resolve this issue?
