Nokia battery for MDA?

I wonder if it's possible to conect battery from nokia 3310 (3,6V, 1800mAh), as external battery for XDA.
I would try it, but I need to now what voltage have external battery for XDA and haw to connect it to connector on back side of XDA.
Can any ony help me :?:
not sure about xda1 but xda2's battery is 3.7 so 3.6 should be ok
here are how the connector are pin'd out
http://wiki.xda-developers.com/wiki/Connectors
of cause i'm not 100% if the volts used by the charging are higher then the 3.6 volts i mean if you can charge using usb then it could be that the charging is made for 5volts
But I'm interested in pinout of this connector on back side of XDA. I place a picture witch one I mean.
I check the voltage of this conector and I checked it on picture. When I connect charger, voltage rise to 3,97V, so I think 3,6V battery should be ok. But I'm not sure about connection.
dont have an xda1 anymore so i'm not sure which connector you are talking about
i'm talking about the buttom connector
are you talking about some connector externaly ?
or inside the xda ?
I'm not talking about bottom connector.
In XDA1 there is a connector on back side, and I thing it's specially for exernal battery. It's coverd with rubber casing.
Maybe someone who got this external batt could check voltage on pins.
At last I could open my XDA and check everything, but every settings will be lost.
maybe you could ask in the Wallaby accessories forum
more people who are likely to own such a device would maybe read that ?
Thanks for reply . I'll do that
External battery
I have an XDA1 with an additional external battery
I have nothing to check the external power from the 4different connectors.
What it says on the sticker of the battery is 3.7 VDC, 1500 mAh. Not sure that helps.
I'll try to look for someone to check the power from the battery. I know no one really! I'll let you know as soon as I can find someone, but it could be weeks!!!
Thanks. It would help me a lot.
I think 3 pins are needed. One of them sould be termistor, other are VCC and GND. But I need to be sure before I connect that battery.
I have checked some how it's connected to internal battery. It seems to be connected paralel to internal battery.
I try co connect nokia batery to + and - (as on the picture), and it was not detected by XDA, but I think voltage rise. I will wait until my internal battery got low and then checked again.
I don't know what is one pin for. Maybe it's for detection for external batt? maybe when I connect my external batt, it will be detected by bootloader and in tests it would show me voltage.
I forgot aboute picture
if you go to www.allelectroncis.com , they have a palm 3.7 v 1400 mah battery for about $7. It might be better than the nokia battery???

Prophet without battery - how?

Hello,
I'd like to operate my prophet without a battery. Why? I want to integrate it without the case in the car. Due to limited space I have to do it without the battery. It's clear to me that the prophet does not work without the battery but probably someone knows a possibility how to do that anyway.
My Idea is to decompose the battery to separate the protection circuit and to attach a power supply directly to it. I assume that the 6 connectors of the battery are part of its protection circuit. Am I right?
Could that work? Does anybody have experiences and/or knowledge with such a topic? Any other ideas how to "simulate" the battery?
Many thanks + regards, Klaus.
u can. there was a way that u can revive a dead prophet by cutting the wires of the charger & directly connecting it to the battery pins.
just search for dead prophet or something in this forum.
good luck.
u gonna use it for gps or calling/phone?
.. yes, for navigation. In the instrument panel of my Audi A3 - near the radio - there is a small drawer which is used to store chip cards etc. The inner size of the drawer allows to take the Propet - without case and battery
are u gonna use a bluetooth gps receiver? a bit of a hassle really.
good luck mate!

What are these Pins for?

If you open your batterycover you see two silver pins in your hd2. If you then look at the back of your battery cover you see two squared areas where they connect to the battery cover. What are they for?
Those pins are to charge the batt. Check out this site and you'll get the idea of it's use:

aren't these the same pins (sorry i didn't check vid so sorry if it shows this), that are used for the car mount... which u replace the back when u use and those pins activate navipanel?
hi, the tow silver pins are to connect the backcover with the electrical part of the phone. so different electrical potentials between the phone and the (metal)backcover are prevented.

thats what the three golden pads are good for. but be aware that htc changes their minds and distribute now a 'modificated' version of the carkit.

you can find more info about it, here in the forum (accessories).
mad
ok, the potential thing is understood. thx m8
the car kit thing really is a pity. due tha i decided to switch to herbert richter in one and brodit in the other car. the last oneis the one i recommend because it has got some space behind the phone. herbert richter doesn't. the result is that with hr my leo often has a heat problem. believe me, it's getting very hot!

the phone works but sometimes after moves it shutdown..how can i fix this? its because it has bad connection or what?
Does anyone know where to find this battery to buy new?
also can i replace the battery connector with battery connector from another phone with 3 pins?
Thanks in advance
Well find alternatives on ebay or use that battery. Use hot glue to secure battery temporarily if loose connection occur. Remove useless app and less frequent charging will prolong its life or contact any eletronic/mobile shop. Hope this helps.
Dude it happened to me. I got a symbian phone whose battery was 7 yrs old but still it worked briliantly. Although i find a battery but its size was small and i used hot glue to firmly held it. It worked well. But last year it got stolen. I miss that unique phone. It was preloaded with band &oulsfeng amplifier. Checkout samsung SGH-i450 on internet.

Asus Padfone 2 (A68) and its battery + back cover

Hei all
After 3 good years of using my phone it sadly "died". 1 of those micro usb pins broke off and another one bended.
At the moment I can't really fix the micro usb port (missing the tools for it at the moment) and repairing it costs almost $100 (usd). I could buy the micro usb dock part myself buuuut....
So I went ahead to tear the back cover off and took out the battery to charge it directly. So far so good. No problem at all actually (of what I know of)
Now, the battery port has 4 holes: ID - P (minus) - TH - P (plus).
What is ID and TH? I am guessing the ID gives out a number, whereas the TH is a corresponding value to it, or perhaps just the temperature?
I am thinking of using my arduino board to make something fancy. But perhaps it isn't necessary? I don't know if I can just keep charging the battery all night long with a 5V - 1A / 2.1A charger?
Moreover, found something strange on my back cover. It has a copper plate on it? Was thinking it might be an antenna or something, but even without it I got WiFi, 4G, 3G and 2G. Anyone have an idea?
Tried to post some images, but I ain't allowed to do so since I am new here (or I am using this forum wrong)
However, if u search on "asus padfone 2 battery" on Google, then it should show u the battery port and the back cover.
Thank you all. Sorry if I am posting the wrong place.

ID Ibelieve is similar to BSI. It is connected with the GND through a resistor and helps the phone to identify what type of bettery is installed.
TH is probably the thermistor for identifying that temperature is OK.
