CAN NOT get WorldCard mobile to work!! - 8525, TyTN, MDA Vario II, JasJam General

I have a Hermes (AT&T 8525), and for the life of me I've never been able to get WorldCard mobile to work on my phone. I've tried several different versions, and several different ROMS to absolutely no avail. I am doing something wrong here. It "installs" just fine, but nothing happens when I click on the icon to execute?
What gives! HELP! This is the #1 program that want to work most, AND I CAN'T GET THE FREAKIN THING TO WORK!! ARRG!!

What does it do?
Are you using a cooked or stock rom?
As much info as you can give as there are limits to what we can do....

That's the weird thing, it does NOTHING. Absolutely nothing. I click on the icon, and I might as well be trying to click on my cat. Except that the cat probably won't like it very much. It doesn't try to load, no error, no nothing. Like I'm tapping on a blank screen.
I'm now running Schap's 4.31 rom and Schap's WorldCard, but I've ran several other roms/radios/programs/etc. in the past, ALL with the same results?

anyone? Please?

Just curious, have you tried a WM5 ROM?

Hmmm, can't say that I have. It's worth a shot!

I have it working on my wm6.1 rom... No problem. Might be the cab install you have, the one I got that as shared here didn't work so I downloaded another, not sure where, works fine now, except I'm only using the trial version...
Cheers...

Need some help guys with cingular 8125

Ive been searching for some answers but havent found any clears responses
I saw on youtube a g4 8125 with the touchflo cube where he is flipping the screens with his fingers like a iphone (preferably the black & grey interface)(but not an iphone interface)
I read that to unlock my phone i must use soft/hard spl
I have found hard spl & got it to work (I see the spl xx.opi, so i know it worked)
I have tried to use many roms & i always get an error saying this rom is not for my device/phone....what am i doing wrong ? (I also think there were g4 roms)
Now i need to know what to do to get the touchflo w/ finger flipping installed on the phone
Any links to cab files or rom to do it along w/ a good tutorial to do it would be greatly appreciated.
I have done all kinds of things to my blackberry 8100...that was easy...this is a little more complicated so i guess you can call me a noob
Also for some reason when i link up to activesnyc 4.5 when i try to run a rom upgrade it disconnects sometimes....is that normal ?
Anyway any & all info on what im trying to do would be great
Thanks In Advance Guys

I recommend using HardSPL, if you are to become a ROM-junkie. If you just want to do a "clean" upgrade and be able to go backwards easily, do the SoftSPL.

I run into this a lot, too. The ROM is not the fault, it's the RUU. Use MUN's RUU to install all of your ROMs and you won't ever see that fault again:

Frankly, I'd recommend just flashing up to the ROM in my sig, or to the CR86 Touch HD ROM. Both are equally useful.
Angel: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=468576
CR86: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=442232
With either of these ROMs, you will rarely find a need to dig through the menu, and since Angel has incorporated QuickMenu, you rarely need to pull out a stylus, and rarely need to close a bunch of folders after finishing with a program.
Any links to cab files or rom to do it along w/ a good tutorial to do it would be greatly appreciated.

It's Microsoft, which explains both "a little more complicated" and "is that normal"...for both, the answer is yes, because it's Microsoft.

Tellme ripped from Samsung Intrepid

Anyone have it yet??
I am eagerly waiting for this too. What is Microsoft's deal on this. I thought it was supposed to be originally launched with WinMo 6.5.
I wish your title had a question ? mark at the end of it. Without it, it appears to be more of a statement. got excited for nothing.

*update*
I guess to get it working you need to have netcf 3.5 installed to make it work.
some are saying touch works, some are saying it doesn. I guess its hit or miss.

Thank you,
btw on i780 (wm6.1 build 21109, netcf3.5 already in rom) it crashes when it reaches 82%
I get to 72% but then it says "There was a problem Starting Tellme. Try again later
Installed and touch works. Recognizes contacts but when texting, I say what I want it to transcribe and it says thinking...then says cannot connect to network. Also if I say pizza or whatever it doesn't recognize anything or open default browser. I'm on AT&T and also tried disabling the proxy.
I also went under Program Files/Tellme/ and ran the update tool. It seemed to uninstall and reinstall. But it again still does the same. I've also been dabbling in the registry...but didn't find anything of much help.
I'm going to keep messing with it and see if I can find something..

I got it running on sprints 6.1 stock rom on my TP1. i actually got it working on 4 different roms today, just not the one that's my favorite, dcd 2.16 wm 6.5 Strange thing is, another guy on ppcgeeks said he "did" get working on dcds 2.16 rom. almost seems device dependent in some cases.

Everything works great now using activesync for internet.?
I installed it on my Tilt 2 running wm 6.5 and when I try to text someone I get an error saying that "can't access mobile network", but everything else works, It also is pretty slow.
Yeah all the problems associated with this program thus far are pointing to network issues. I'm starting to think it isnt 6.5 dependant.... Especially since dschoenike got it working on his Sprint stock rom
Amnya over at PPCgeeks posted this cab file. I installed it and low and behold the programs now on the phone. That said, I cant do much with it. Any search I try just comes back with a network error, same with sending a text message "can't access mobile network"
I cant even get it running on my diamond with bsb 6.5.1 rom. Installs itself ok (or at least it doesn't throw up any errors), but when i try to run it nothing happens.
it installs ok on my touch hd wm6.5 manila 2.1 (miri v29) but when i run it nothing happens. I just see "tellme" briefly at the top of the screen where the clock is and that's it.

palringo IM on hd2

has anyone been able to install this on their tmobile hd2? i tried installing via opera on my phone and "an error occurred" during installation. when copying the cab file over to my phone and navigating to it via explorer, clicking on it does nothing...doesn't start the installation. installing apps hasn't changed, right? navigate to the cab and click it? i owned the original HD last year and am winmo capable...bah!
thanks,
rob
i attached the ones i downloaded a while ago.
the larger one (1) is beta version - this is the one i prefer.
a message for update will arrive shortly after first use.
awesome, the beta installed fine. i guess palringo gave me the wrong cab version or something. thanks!
you're welcome
wow, that was fast
Palringo is great, but remember that it is better to turn it off when not using.
Otherwise, you will run out of batter sooner than you think
yea, i remember using it on my htc touch hd1. it did hurt battery a bit, but it seemed like the best IM client out there at the time. because i've always got my laptop and bag with me, i guess i'll have to make sure to keep my charging cable with me as well.

after first use of the beta? i haven't received an updated message yet...is it to update to a non-beta full version?
only an updated beta i think.
you have to have a little patience, sometimes it takes 30 mins or so for the message to appear.
hello! I've been using palringo too and I think it's the best messenger app out there but does anyone has this problem? Every time I try to share a picture, I can't launch the camera anymore and have to soft reset...!
i like beejive more but unfortunately it doesn't provide support for its winmo version anymore and sometimes it doesn't work for days. so overall i also think palringo is the best for winmo.
i have never tried to send files through palringo so i can't help.
just one more thing, i've just read somebody managed to run succesfully fring for xperia x1 on hd2. perhaps we might also give it a try

TellMe help!!

Hi All,
Just need a little help here with TellMe, installs fine but when i send a text message it just sits in the outbox, any ideas? I'm using the stock Tmobile rom.
No one else with this issue? already tried the uninstall/reinstall with no luck.
There was a thread over in the TMo Community with people having the same issue including myself. Not sure what's going on, but my texts are getting delivered a day or two later.
that's weird because after flashing one Kumar's ROM and before sending texts on TellMe worked fine. I downloaded the cab from mobileunderground. Sorry I don't have the exact link, but it is floating around somewhere.
Yeah i used the same link from mobile underground too but me and 2 other co-workers all have the same issue. When you installed from Mobile Underground did you install the NETCF 3.5 from them also?

No, I didn't need NETCF 3.5.
Maybe you do need the NETcf3.5. The easiest way that I have found to do this is by downloading "Hunting Lite" game from the market and it installs it automatically. It's worth a try because when TellMe works for texting it is a REALLY useful feature
Tried the hunting lite install and still sits in outbox, im going to hard reset my device and see if something else i installed is causing this. Do you use the standard text settings?

Received a reply from TellMe saying that this device is not yet supported.

Looking for a rather basic WinMo 6.5.3/6.5.5 ROM

Before people tell me to search the forums, that's what I've been doing for the longest time, trying every ROM on the Vogue forum. And before you tell me to try Android, I've done that too, and while I like it, I prefer Windows Mobile on this particular phone at the moment, but may put Android on it again sometime in the future.
The closest that I've found is NagROM V0.19 Touch, which is just a touch too basic. I'm looking for something like that, but with M2D and M2D Customiser, the HTC Cabs and Ringtones, the EZInput keyboard like in NFSFan's ROM, and Office 2007 or 2010. While I like the ROMs that come with other programs cooked in, such as Total Commander and PHM Registry Edit, I prefer the ROM coming without them so that when I go to install an updated version, I don't run into a problem. Too many times I've had problems installing a newer version of a program when it comes up telling me it has to uninstall the previous version, but can't, sometimes leaving me with just the old version, or both versions.
And before anyone says to cook my own, I've looked into guides, tried cooking my own, and the past few times I've tried, it wouldn't even boot up for the first time after flashing. I've tried numerous kitchens, some of which are supposed to be basic ones, perfect for beginners, but end up with one of a few problems: Not compatible with 64-bit windows, virus scanner blocks a crucial part, not meant for the Vogue, etc.
Basically what I'm asking is: Are there any basic ROMs with nothing more than M2D (and HTC cabs and Ringtones, and M2DC), EZInput, and Office Mobile 2007/2010 cooked in, or can someone HELP me with trying to cook my own (so that I can have it preconfigured for Verizon, MMS working and GPS set up)?
Hey, Ill cook you up a rom with the things you want. Should be done here in a little while!

Haha, wow. I never expected someone to actually make it fer me! I'll have to try it out tomorrow as it's late now. Also, what kitchen do you use, Barogi? I still do plan on learning. (I'm a mix of hands on learning and being shown/flat out told what to do for the first time or three lol). Also, I assume it is set up as a Generic ROM (without the provisioning cab, MMS cab and settingsh, and Registry settings for GPS)? Also, as time goes more things come to mind to be cooked in (hence wanting to learn how to cook a ROM personally, and slowly becoming less basic ) lol. Still, thanks, majorly. I'll let you know how it works out when I try it tomorrow =3
Oh, and what version of EZInput is cooked in? I know I said "like the one in NFSFan's ROM," but that's only because I was unsure of the version (which I know now is 1.5.)

I use ppckitchen.org Buildos 2.0.0 And yes it is generic meaning you will need a carrier cab, Once you do install your carrier cab everything should work such as mms and gps. As for Ezinput i actually use a newer version than Nfsfans its (pcarvalho_ezInput_2.1_QVGA). If you want some help with cooking your own rom, just install ppckitchen buildos 2.0.0 since thats the only one ive ever used and know how to use and then send me a message on whatever you need some help with! Also if you want something changed in the rom i have already made for you before you get a chance to build your own, just let me know and ill do it.
EDIT: Had posted the wrong link to ppckitchen its supposed to be ppckitchen.org not .com

PPCKitchen BuildOS 2.0.0 is what I was using as well. I've used enough generic ROMs to know how to get it all working, so that's simple to do. Was just curious about that. I've gotten one ROM working through there, but somehow ended up with the Windows Mobile 6.1 splash screen (even though I changed it lol.) I'll try out your ROM, and I"ll keep playing with BuildOS. Hopefully I can get the file size down, and figure out how to cook in my own things, not just what's listed on the build menu lol. I'm kind of a hands on learner, kind of need to be shown multiple times, so playing around with it (though will take MUCH longer) SHOULD help me figure it out, but I'll keep in mind to PM you if I have any questions.

Ok great!
Alright, I'm trying out the ROM, and so far it looks great. Just one slight thing... I see you put in PHM RegEdit (an add on program I said I prefer installing myself so that when I go to update it I don't run into problems lol) Other than that, so far it looks perfect. Now if I could figure out how to cook a ROM where it isn't bigger than the stock, with just a few add in things as I think of them that I use regularly (and cook it as a Verizon specific ROM) then yay. Time to start playing with BuildOS while setting up my phone again lol

Ahh sorry about that Its just one of those programs that i figured you might want but perhaps had forgotten to ask for
Also i realized that after i had uploaded the rom that i forgot to add the reg edit to fix the 2016 date error on sms messages... Not sure if that affects you on Verizon, because i do not get it on Bell.
If you want... I can give you a list of the necessary things you should put in your own roms to make it function to its fullest.. like all the necessary bluetooth items and such?

It's alright, I think PHM is one of the ones that can be updated even if it's cooked in without any problems. And yes, the 2016 problem will affect me on Verizon. I had it happen to me on NagROM before, but already had the fix downloaded (someone made it into a cab) so I installed it to be on the safe side. As for the list of things to make it function to the fullest, please do. And if there is another way to contact you other than on here, can you tell me in PM? I'd like to contact you off of here for help with cooking a ROM. I've tried again, and it wouldn't even finish building this time. Out of about 8 times of cooking a ROM, it succeeded only once, but I forgot to compress it (this was before you made this ROM for me).
Also, slight problem, and quick question.
The problem is on M2D. The music tab. It says that it can't play the audio file and opens Windows Media Player. I haven't found anything on this yet and had it happen to me on a few ROMs. If it can't be fixed, that's fine, i can just take off the music tab (because I don't always slide along the bottom, I'll use the D-pad at times, and if other people play with my phone)
The question... Where can I find the default background for M2D? I changed the background using M2DC so it'll be on all the tabs, but you can't see the white text, so I wanna change it back until I find a different background.

Ill send you a pm with my cell number. Also I have always gotten that message when trying to use music tab. I dont think a fix has ever been mentioned... I know that it usually defaults to using audio manager and not the windows media player, perhaps that could be the problem?
The background... I think that you have to back up the default in M2DC before changing it in order to get it back, so that you can reload it. Just so you know, I don't use Manila at all on my phone, so im not quite sure how to fix many things on it. And remember that most issues are do to the fact that Manila is not made for our phones and has been ported over. But I will try my best to help you out.

Yeah NFSFAN always cooked Audiomanager into his roms... you could put it in your own as well and it probably would stop the error.

Barogi...can I hit you up for a more basic one that that? I need the lighted WM ROM there is. I basically need Windows Mobile 6.5.3 and that's it...no extras.
If you could make one that has everything removed except Windows (even ezinput, office, ringtones, htc apps, etc...then I would be very appreciate
Of course if you have a kitchen link I can do it myself - thanks !!
