Hi All!
I got two problems with my Touch HD, looking for your help please.
1. How do i get a "Call Status -CURTAIN" in my dialler? while i am on a call, sometimes i end up pressing diff. buttons with my cheek, like the END button, or the speaker/mute.
I see this kind of dialer has a call curtain in the Diamond Dialler. So where can i get this from?
2. Has anyone been able to capture/change the functions of the Home button thru AEB Plus ? or any other software? And has anyone managed to get the Long Press function working for any of the keys thru AEB Plus?
Thanks.
Yes, I want to have 'call curtain', too!
After more random search, i have found the answer to my 2nd question about AEB Plus at this thread:

Now looking for the Curtain. Please help guys.
Thanks.

Hi, I can't help on the Curtain. But, just to confirm, I have long press working with AEB Plus on the two volume keys: UP - to a torch app "plamp" and DOWN - to Resco Notes recorder.
Thanks for confirming that, Cheesy! got that working now!
Anyone know about the Call Status Curtain?
Well here is a thread on the Diamond area that may be of interest.

ok well i have a question what do u guys like to c on your today screen? and how can i put a shortcut to phone on my today screen or on taskbar? i cant find the path for it to put on my taskbar thx in advanced!
:edit: ohh and how can u close out programs when u hit the "x" or "ok" button? cause i know that only minimizes i have a taskmanager but thats a hassel to open & close open & close lol once again i appricate the help!
like this?
If so Phm traylaunch works best!
What is that notes plug-in? Thanks.
notes today plugin avail at handango or pocket gear . Oh by the way as for a great program that closes shoose transcreative majic button. It works very well Have a great night kinmont
how can i put the phone.exe on my today menu or taskbar?
I would say, you don't really need a phone shortcut onto the today screen. Just press the green "dial" button and that brings up the phone application no matter what screen you're in and press the red button if you want to return to whatever screen you were at before. However, I do recommend the free picture dialer plug in floating around here in xda. It works wonders right from the today screen, one touch dialing
could u post where to get that picture dialer thing? i cant find it lol

DavidT,
is that screenshort from your Universal? I have loaded the photo dialler app to my today screen and the pictures are far too small to be useful. Read a post which said it wasn't VGA aware, although they look fine on your screenshot.
TIA

Dude, if you had just typed in the same words you used to open up this entirely new thread into the search engine instead, you would have found your answer in like 30 seconds...
Here is the answer from someone else who did the same thing:

Remember - search first, post second!!!
Oh yeah.
You are absolutely correct and i apologise. I did search but i searched for "hardware buttons" and stuff like that and read through loads of stuff.
Thanks very much.

Yes, he would have found that, but then, when he tried the method suggested, he would have asked again anyway as it doesnt work! I copied the shortcut to the right place and selected it in buttons but the button now simply does nothing!

There is a program called iLauncher that will allow you to assign the ComManager to "quick launch" you can then assign the quick launch to a hardware button. I use the voicedial button.
Warny
Hi again Warny, people must be getting sick of us. lol
Mine worked ok. I set it to launch on holding the voice command button. I did what they said. copied the shortcut in.
Have you tested your shortcut directly buy checking that it launches from the program menu. At least that will tell us whether it is the shortcut not working or the button talking to the shortcut that is not.

Hi!
I just got the HTC Touch HD a couple of days ago.
Just wondering how to make the screen rotate on the HTC Touch HD in landscape mode.
Can anyone guide me on how to get the screen to rotate please?
download gyrator 2
also, use the search
Get a registry editor, then: HKLM - System - GDI - Rotation - HideOrientationUI (change from 1 to 0)
And yes.....you the search function.....it´s all been discussed before.......like here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=448142
Hi,
Great information, thank you very much ! I have successfully 'activated' this extra option with the use of Total Commander's built-in Registry Editor (another excellent find on this site ).
It is a great way to get a feel for what programms look like in Landscape Mode, since I haven't (yet) installed any Auto-Rotate programms.
Now I'd like to find a way to make accessing this Setting easier/faster because everytime you go back to a TouchFlo 3D screen the Device changes back to Portrait-mode. Back to browsing the forum; am getting my HD set-up the way I like it...one step at a time...

Rolf (SmartPhone-newbie from The Netherlands)

I understand popular alternatives are Gyrator 2 or Mobile Magic
I myself would like to be able to rotate the screen manually only. After editing the Registry as per the above description this is now possible on my Touch HD.
This however takes a lot of clicks so I hope to find a way to assign this option to either a Start Menu Shortcut or a long-press Hotkey. I think I stumbled across a post regarding this issue in one of my many hours reading through this forum and its Wiki. I didn't pay much attention to it at the time so I'll have to try and find that information again...

Rolf

So why don´t you do just that? Assign the rotation to the long-press-answer-key. That´s what I´ve done from day one....

I found this little utility, it opens a pop-up window that rotates the screen and gives you the option of which position you want. I have used AEPlus button mapper to assign it to the "volume up" button. It works great, but the only thing is....don't try to rotate the TouchFlo3d windows, it doesn't like that at all. I think that is why the HD doesn't auto-rotate yet, TF3d can't take it. Start the app that you want to use, then activate the "Screen Rotate" utility.

Because I didn't know one COULD do that Hahaha... Thanks so much for pointing this out to me I did it right away and it works great...even with TouchFlo !
Was this option available in Key Assigment right away or only after the registry was altered as described above

yeah, thanks, that's where I got it from in the end, but it took until th 9th google search result to find that website and thus a working download location! That's rediculous for a freeware application!
Amusing thing is, I went to assign this to a button using AE Button Plus, and it turns out there's already an option in that program to assign buttons to "rotate screen" and "rotate screen clockwize" (american-sic) missed it before due to not looking for it specifically at the time!
Which screens are TF3d?
Is that the home screen (when tf3d is enabled)?
The screen doesnt remain in landscape mode.
After accessing the call menu it goes back to portrait mode.

I can get the phone screen to go landscape with the rotate app in AEBplus, but if I'm in landscape in another app and switch to the phone app, it goes back to portrait. Maybe the problem is the HTC phone screen, the generic WM probably works ok.
Matterhorn,
Actually I turned off TF3D from the Home menu in settings.
It still resets to portrait after accessing phone menu.

Hi all,
The title pretty much sums up the question- is anyone aware of a phone dialer app that you can use with only the D-pad and without the use of the touchscreen? As you might have seen in my previous thread, my digitizer is shot, so until that arrives in the mail, if I'm not using MyMoblizer I'm limited to answering incoming calls or using my quick-contacts. I can get to the dialer cooked-in by hitting the green button, but the arrow buttons all cause the screen to change to either speed-dial or call history. If there's an alternate or replacement dialer where you can navigate the numbers and select them, that'd be great.
Thanks!
Hi I've installed bsb tweaks & cookie s home tab and both are working fine. After doing this I noticed when Im in a call my screen dont respond to any commands keypad, mute, end call, ect... just did the same thing, I had turned on the screen sensitivity one and the tap option right below it.
Change them back and you'll be ok. Not sure which of the 2 settings caused it, so you can try each and see which one is the culprit..
If you look it up on the forum elsewhere this problem has been mentioned before. You have to turn the tap time option off and your incall screen buttons will work.
