For some reason, in the tabs section, weather, e-mail, and internet are listed twice. I want to hide all these tabs, so I uncheck them and set the order I want. I reboot my device and when it boots back up the internet and e-mail tabs are gone but the weather tab is still there but is tagged on the end now. I had this working before but messed around with the phone and had to reinstall some things. I've deleted and reinstalled, even redownloaded the program but still have the problem with the weather tab. Any ideas?

Has anybody had the following problem.. and ofcourse, a solution:
I've come to accept Windows Live syncing my contacts on the phone and making a mess with the others. I ended up consolidating with duplicates.
My problem is that I have fully added my contacts again to Messenger and at first everything works fine. I sync with activesync and everything goes well. The issue begins when I soft reset. After I do, Windows live now begins not being able to sync my contacts. It always gives me an error. To make it worse, my contacts are still in the messenger, but they never appear online. People can see me and message me, and I can answer, but I don't see anybody online as I did before I softreset. I can imagine I don't see them because they don't sync. I set sync settings for "as they arrive" for my mail to work like if it were pushed.
Anybody know why that happens? Trust me, I've hardreseted like crazy, I even created a new account and added everybody from scratch and it still happens.
I use the new WM6 update for an unbranded HTC p4350 in Spanish.

Did you regedit and hide SIM contacts... I have the same problem with Windows Live Contacts and I guess it's because that registry modification, so I'm trying to restore that key to show/UNhide SIM contacts...

Updates... It' an issue related to the HTC 3 button Plugin... if you disable it from Settings tab you will see all contacts...
Now I'm trying to enable again the Plugin...

Hey.. thanks for your help but none worked.
I haven't touched the registry in what pertains to windows live. Every time I try to sync it tells me it failed to start syncing the congacts.
What I dont understand is why, if I errase the account and sign in again, I do get to see them; but once I softreset, though they are still there, they all appear offline. They can see me but I cant

Now I am OK and Windwos Live works fine (sync and online contacts).
1)I disable the 3 Button Home Plugin.
2) restart the phone and it boots correctly without the Plugin activated. I connect via WI-Fi to Windows Live and it works correctly.
3) re-enable the 3 Button Plugin and all things still work.
I dunno why but after this it's ok...

Searching in google I found many people with this problem (WM6 + Windows Live).
Right now the only real thing to do is a work around. From Windows Live you have to tap on Menu, then on Account Options then choose "Change Account" and reconfigure it anytime you Soft Reset your Herald...
I know it is not a solution, but in this way it works...
Had a strange problem with Windows live on my Touch Dual. I've previously had it working perfectly. I don't use messenger that much but I love having my hotmail integrated into my phone's inbox.
Recently I noticed that it had stopped syncing. I tried forcing it a few times (ie. clicking on send/receive) but it instantly came back with 'Sync failed'. My first go at fixing it (after trying a soft reset) was to switch account, assuming that I could effectively just reload all my messages without reinstalling. However, once it had wiped all my current messages, it wouldn't let me sign in again. I entered my password, clicked next and nothing happened.
Right, I thought, a reinstall is needed. So I dug out the installation exe and ran it. However, I kept getting a message saying something like 'Installation of windowslive.cab was unsuccessful' with no further details.
I didn't want to hard reset but it looked like it was my only option. So having done a full hard reset, I tried installing and got the same problem - 'Installation unsuccessful'.
This is so frustrating. It was working perfectly before and now I can't even install the damn app. I was starting to wonder if Orange had somehow updated my phone without me knowing to block Windows Live, but as so many other people don't have a problem it can't be that.
I saw the thing about the 30 day trial and wondered if it was connected, but again I thought I can't be the only one.
Help please! I want my hotmail back!

Hi everybody, I had exactly the same problem a few days ago. Until now I did three hard resets, but in vain :-( Once I finllay manegd to install the client, but configuring it didn´t work. After "Login to Windows live" the setup stopped. Then, I de-installed win live and after that no more installing was possible. Very strange..... NO, I didn´t change anything on the hardware, no roms, no radios, nothing. Any ideas out there ?

None I'm afraid. If you've hard reset I can't see any reason for it to not install
no Windows Live since 30 June
Having the same problem-- no Hotmail sync since 30 June, can't connect to Windows Live Messenger. Tried deleting Windows Live and reinstalling various versions, to no avail. I always get an error message that the installation was unsuccessful. I tried a hard reset, tried reverting to a backup from months ago, but nothing works. No Windows Live.
There is a brief discussion of the issue on this thread http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=2315295. It's hard to believe there aren't more people commenting on this problem. Is it unique to those of us who are using the standard WM 6.0 ROM? Until this gets sorted out, can anyone recommend another stable, reliable (and preferably free) Windows Live Messenger client?
personally I have been using Parlingo http://www.palringo.com for my mobile messaging client. seems to do the job well and with the added bonus of PTT it means I dont need to type to people.

The version of Windows Live on this page http://www.microsoft.com/windowsmobile/mobile/wl/languages-en-us.mspx is working on my Kaiser, but they have removed Windows Live Messenger from the package. :-(
Edit: the cab from this page is now working too http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=1281625&postcount=4. It does contain Messenger. Perhaps the problem is now solved and all the old versions are working again?

I'm having a nasty problem with my TD2 and have no idea what is going on.
The phone is working fine with the stock tom or any Manila 2.1/Titanium cooked rom.
The problem begins with any Manila 2.5 rom (believe me I tested them all).
I use activesync to synchronize my contacts, calendar and mail with Gmail. My typical contact consists of a name,surname, phone number,mail, birthday and a picture downloaded from facebook automatically.
Now when I flash a 2.5 rom, I do a hard reset two times, and synchronize with activesync. Then I go to the people tab to add favorites.
I add the first - everything is fine.
Second - ok
Third and manila dies completely after I select a particular detail on a contact.
I can go to start menu, lock the phone etc, but cannot return to home screen. After reseting the phone, everything is fine until I go to the people tab - selecting this hangs Manila.
Sometimes after doing a reset the people tab works but adding another favorite hangs it again.
What could cause this?
No idea what could cause, but the favourites I set up in manila 2.1 (and synced with Outlook) automatically come up when I first sync 2.5 with Outlook. I don't need to add them...
Might be some incompatibility with syncing to GMAIL
With some manila versions I've got a weird thing happening.
I noticed this with the people tab.
I assume I must have synced once with contact A, B and C in the first three "add favourite" fields. A in field 1, B in field 2 and so on.
On some manila version I however get contact A in field 2 and nothing else.
And it is in these manila versions that causes manila to crash if I do the following:
After a flash disable some tabs via settings and sync.
The device syncs, all contacts, etc. everything seems fine.
When I however enable the previously disabled tabs, manila crashes with and endless startup.
What might be the cause?

mmmm maybe in the sync process, it backups some regs or files, that overwrites the default ones. it happends with PIMbackup but i dont know if the AS or WMDC do the same backup.

A bit of a strange one, this.
Outlook seems to open on top of whatever program I usee at seemingly random times (not related to any of the 3 pop accounts polling)
I have tried uninstalling Email Scheduler (have had it since day one, but the problem only started yesterday, but thought I'd check) and no change.
I've also disabled/moved the polling to be doubly sure, but no change either.
I've tried removing the lnk in the start up folder as it opens on boot, but no change again.
Any ideas?
Found the issue. I reticked "show account picker when starting messaging".
