I noticed that battery icon disappears (on top bar right corner) when opening programs like phone, messaging, comm manager, etc. Is this normal or it's some flaw on my set ? Does anyone experience this situation ?
Thank you.

I installed Ariel battery monitor Ariel Battery Monitor 2009 v2.1 WM6 by Sunny127
link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=364278
Not only the battery icon stays regardless whatever program is opened, the icons comes in colors and shows the %.
Here, it also happens.
Is it normal or bug?
I have noticed the same..
It is WM6.1 s std behaviour I assume..
I think it is standard 6.1 behavior. There is a freeware app Vista Battery Gauge which puts a colorful, unobtrustive battery gauge on nearly every screen/app.
Hello
it's normal

Hello All,
I found the treo battery meter on the Cheetah section (Thanks to Vijay555). The .exe runs, and places the battery icon on the right place, but it does not change with time, it displays the startup level even when charging etc.
Can someone repack it or give me a .cab that i can use fully? Thanks
Don't bother with it. The guys hacked the existing Hermes battery meter to be significantly more useful. Look up the "green" battery meter and you'll find skins etc.

I have the different versions of the green battery meter, but it has several issues on the HERMES:
1. It changes the UMTS/3G icon to "E"
2. I cant have the Green Battery and the Clock on the title bar at the same time.
Plus I prefer having the volume icon covered.
Do you have any ideas as to why its not reflecting/collecting battery info in real time?
The Battery meter dll is part of Palms ROM and I havent been able to copy it out.
Thanks in advance.
ALternatively,
Does anyone know what the battery meter application is in the attached image?

In the official WM5 ROM from I-Mate the battery icon is shown on the title bar and clock is hidden beneath it. Is there a way to bring it down to systray and make the clock visible? Please help.
download Batti v2.1 from http://www.freewareppc.com/utilities/batti.shtml and install it on your universal. In the settings for the app, uncheck "Show Battery Icon in Top Bar". That will display the clock in the top bar!
download Battery Watch v1.03 from http://www.freewareppc.com/utilities/batterywatch.shtml and install it on your universal to get the battery icon on your systray!
They're both freeware, so, enjoy!!
I found the answer to the part of my question at http://wiki.xda-developers.com/index.php?pagename=Universal_Registry about adding battery icon to systray and I would like similar procedure for its removal from title bar. Thanks for your help I will be certainly using your addon untill I get my desired answer. Thanks a lot once again.
I would recommend having Batti as a must-have application if you like battery stats! The rest is up to you of course, i always prefer moderate-functionality apps to messing with the registry myself! They're small, easier to handle, removable and just provide more functionality that reg-editting!!
I used Batti but it didn't removed battery icon. What happens is that when app installs it is already configured not to show battery icon but the icon shows so I enabled it just to give a try and as a result two icons were shown then I unchecked it and only the new icon went away. The original icon remained there. Registery hack is a must!!!
weird, now i'm wondering how i got rid of the battery icon I'll let you know if i figure that out
That's really very nice !!!!! Figure it out soon please !
Still awaiting response. Please somebody help me soon.
the battery icon disappears when you launch a program and im wondering if there is a way to also hide the speaker, evdo icon and activesync in the same manner the battery disappears and reappears when you open/close a program.
can these icons be auto-hidden like battery?
if anyone uses WkTask you'll know why.. i think it would be better for more room/space for tabs.. i don't see a point in showing these icons when you're working on active tasks.

...if you are using WkTask you can allow it to cover those icons:
manage the size of the "Offset from the right edge" option in first preferences tab, try to decrease that number!!
Ciao

On my HD2, I have got the tsowen taskbar installed which is great, however when I'm charging the icon stops showing percentage charged and shows a flash symbol instead. I want to know how much it is charged withut aving to go into Power properties or take it off charge and wait until the symbol is updated. Is there a way to change that icon to ALWAYS show the charged percentage ?
On a wider note, is there a simple way to add and remove icons that are displayed in the taskbar ? In my old PocketPC days, I used to use a program called Wisbar which really simply allowed you to play with what was displayed or not. Is there anything equivalent for the new generation of WinMo phones ?
Thanks in advance,
Jeremy
Wisbar still exists and if you want to see how much power u have just tap the taskbar to show you the notification screen and there is a percentage battery indicator.
I noticed that under setting> Home> Display clock in taskbar, that this give you option of having ONLY your digital clock "OR" your battery icon. Not both.
Without installing something like battclock, etc, Is there a way to make both the clock and batter to be present but not overlapping?
Thanks.
Battclock seems to be the only way.

i refuse to use it because the background is not able to go transparent. its always some solid color. And plus, it uses more RAM.

Does anyone know if SPB PocketPlus battery bar works on HD2? I used to use this on my TytnII, but I haven't tried it yet on my HD2.
personally im using the "Display clock in taskbar" option along with VistaHide Battery Gauge, so i got a nice little bar on the top of the screen showing the battery and the clock in the taskbar.
(it looks something like this)

lol. i only see the battery in the task bar. the clock isnt' the clock is on manila.
the vistahide battery meter suggestion is meaningful (as you can see in the screenshot) because the battery can now be represented by the 1-2 pixel line across the top of the screen, leaving the default battery meter free to be changed to the time/clock.
however, i understand your requirement because i am also searching for this solution. i remember back in the days of WM6.0 and WM6.1, the "display the clock on the title bar in all programs" worked a bit better. it would show battery when on the home screen (because your home screen might display a better and bigger clock) and it would show the clock when an application/program was in the foreground. i really miss that behavior in WM6.5, though WM6.5.x handles this situation a bit better if i remember correctly.
the link on my previous post, is just the vistahide battery gauge ofc.
i have attached the screen of my phone this time to check the whole thing.
the bar shows that i have more or less 50% battery left
i dont like the rainbow looks. is it possible to make the meter one solid color? anyone?
any solution to this guys?
