Hi guys,
I currently sync my HD with an exchange server and have a question. If I add a business reminder in Outlook on my PC - and dont want to sync this to my phone is it possible? I only want to sync personal reminders to my phone. I've played around with the categories without much luck...
Thanks in advance
I am not sure this is possible... I haven't seen any setttings to that effect.

Hi there,
I was wondering if Outlook was the only program available to sync thc HTC HD with, or whether there were other alternatives.
Sorry if this is a complete noob question.
Thanks!
No my Dear there is none.
Well I found 'Birdiesync'.
It will sync both Thunderbird and Sunbird (Mozilla's freeware mail and calendar) to an HD.
I've got it working, and it seems to work well.
Birdiesync will cost a small amount, but not much compared to Outlook!
Umm, you could sync your mobile with Gmail/Calendar/Contacts using Nuevasync...
Try here:
http://www.nuevasync.com/
While I do understand Gmail is not an application, that is the only email client I use... apart from Outlook
Hi Everyone!
Ordered an X1 and it arrives on Monday, can't wait. I probably should have checked this first, but... are multiple syncs possible on the X1?
To explain further, I'd like to sync with my PC at home to get my personal contacts, calendar etc, and have all those marked as "home" or similar, BUT to also have syncing with my company's Exchange server and get contacts, calendar etc from there and have it marked as "work".
I'd want the phone to understand the different sources and try not to sync my personal contacts back to the exchange server and vice versa.
Is this possible?
Thanks in advance.
Yes I sync 2 phones to PC and laptop
You can change each PCs "name" in Windows Mobile device centre

Thanks very much himariohere. Useful link there.
hey mates,
the outlook calendar syncs just from the pc to the device not the other way around....
what can i do? i need the dates from the phone on the pc....
I figured this out today
When you make a new appointment you'll notice tthere's a calendar selection at the top. Select Outlook and make an appointment.
After this it remembers as the default, and Outlook will receive the phone's calendar items
yes man youre right... i found this out today , too .. thx
This worked like a charm! Thanks a lot!
Hi
I was just wondering if it possible to sync my contacts from my home PC using Outlook and my calandar and mail from my works Outlook exchange server on the HD2.
I am a current iPhone user and am interested in moving over to the HD2 as it looks like an awsome phone. I can do the above on the iPhone but can't find any information as to wheather this is possible on the HD2. Searched the forums but can't find an answer!
Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Many Thanks
I don't see why this wouldn't be possible.
You can select to only link (via Exchange) your calendar and mail, I've done this. Then you just need to configure Activesync or Mobile Device Center to sync your contacts with Outlook.
Yes you can, a friend of mine has it set up that way. As Nighthawk said, it's just a case of configuring the sync right (you just have to tick boxes, so nothing challenging there!)
Dont know whether it helps, but I use an excellant app called Chronobis which allows me to pull (one way) my calendar from my work exchange server. It will also handle email & contacts.
I'm using this as I dont want to mix my home outlook contacts & calendar which I sync with Active Sync with my work stuff.
So I sync normally with Activesync and then download my work calendar which merges with my HD2 calendar... when I do an activesync... both work and home calendars are then together in Outlook.
I think in your situation you will be fine as you are not trying to "merge" contacts and calendars from 2 places at the same time.
Brilliant, thanks for your replies guys.
Yes this can be done, i do this with two exchange servers, one from my work and the other my gmail account.
Basically i sync my calendar and contacts with both and only sync my email from work.
I did this on my polaris and now on my hd2. Initially i wasn't too sure if the the hd2 would do this natively so i went with the regitry hack i used on my polaris. Perhaps someone could confirm that this can be done on the hd2 without the registry hack.
Here is the link to what i did with my polaris (and now my hd2).

I have an hd2 and i have everything i need to shift to windows phone 7. I have also used the microsoft exchange server to save all my contacts and calendar, but am having no luck with the sms and tasks.
I know there is an app in xda itself called smssyncup. But its not exactly importing the sms. So my question is , can anyone tell me any other method to saving my tasks and sms?
my tasks are very important and i would like to be able to save them.
Also, out of curiosity, is there any way to save the google map favorites as well as footprints for use in windows phone 7?
Many thanks in advance...
Maybe I can try to help you with the Tasks.
When you are working on WinMo6.5 you can sync your Tasks with your Exchange Server, now they are up to date on your Server.
After this in WP7 as I know, is the only way to sync Tasks with the Tool "Bring the Wine" available in the Marketplace. WP7 itself has no possibility to sync Tasks, but "Bring the Wine" will help you.
You can config your Exchange Server with User and PW in this Tool and you will be able to sync your Tasks.
Greets
I tried syncing with the exchange server, but other than birthday reminders, nothing else gets transferred. it says, all other reminders failed to be synced. But thanks for directing me to bring the wine. I will look into it immediately.
But does anyone know if there is any other way to take all the tasks? Would windows live sync all the tasks?
