Hey all! If your like me then you can't even make it through an eight hour work day with 3g on with your Magic. I see tons of widgets that will take you to the settings menu to toggle 2g/3g.
Is there any widget that can be had which will toggle it right from a desktop? I am rooted so that won't be an issue.
Thanks!

Sorry not the right widget.

Best I've found for this is Any Cut which lets me put a icon that takes me right to the page where I can check the 2g box. 2 clicks is better than several I guess.

And what is that menuitem called? I just have a lot of "settings" in my AnyCut", and no dedicated 2g settings menu point.
There's a super awesome widget called "switcher pro"... I think (it isn't free, but doesn't cost much). Basically it's your standard power control on crack!
It looks exactly the same (it uses the same graphics, so it looks good), and lets you customize what the opens are, you can have between 5 or 7. One option is a 2G/3G toggle, though it only opens the setting and can't tell you if 3G is enabled.
Well basically what the title says. My friend is a Android turned WM guy and he still prefers nothing being on his homescreen. is there a way to remove all three
i am looking for the same.. i have seen pictures of the HTC HD2 on Google and so i believe it is possible, still need to research ways in doing so.. i shall let you know as soon as a find sumthing ..
Disable HTC Sense. Goto Settings/All Settings/Home
I dont see the home button. I slide the phone all the way to the right to the setting then click menu and then all setting but i dont see a home

Thank you alot..
hi all...
the lock screen on my hd2 has gone missing... pressing the red button directly brings me into the sense UI... any suggestions what went wrong?
thanks!
any help with above issue pls?
Have you recently installed then uninstalled a custom lockscreen? Look at my sticky (link in my sig) and towards the bottom of the first post you'll see some attached cabs. download the one that says Lockscreen HD2 original then install it. It should bring you back to normal.

hi there...
i did stumble upon your sticky and downloaded the lockscreen HD2 original cab file yesterday itself. I have soft reset the device after the installation but still there is no lock screen. Once the device boots up its directly in the Sense UI. Anything else I can do to fix OR might have done wrong?
Thanks for your input!
** Also, to answer your question, no i have not installed or uninstalled any custom lockscreen.. I am still in the learning stages of flashing a ROM and once I get comfortable with all the steps involved, I'll take the plunge but at this point the device is in stock condition except for the apps I have installed. Thanks

Thanks for the link - it kind of helped, which is to say - when i go to start menu and tap on "lock" it does lock the screen but after unlocking it when i press the red button to shut the display and again press it the lockscreen doesnt come up.. i'd hate to click twice before I press the red button only to make sure it doesnt come to life and call my aunt while in my pocket :-/
I tried reinstalling the cab from your sticky to the device (coz I wasnt sure where i had installed it previously) but the problem persists and No I havent installed any BSB or any other tweaks (atleast not intentionally)
So when you go to start , etc, then lock, after you unlock it you're presented with the lock screen Options. Are those set accordingly? Once set, it'll ask you to save changes, then click ok in top right corner.

Okay so here's what I do -
- tap on start menu
- bottom left soft key says "lock"
- tap on lock
- device lockscreen comes on
- now if i press the red button to switch off and then press it again, the lockscreen stays.
-but if i slide the lock on the lockscreen to reveal the sense UI, close the device and then switch it on again, it doesnt show me the lockscreen
does that help you help me?
thanks a ton for your patience!

Do you have cookies home tab/chteditor or bsb tweaks installed? If you do that might be causing the fail.

No I dont. I dont have any of those installed. I want to install the cookies but havent installed any mods yet. The only things I've installed on there are apps.
One of them being Resco Explorer which has a Task manager with it. Could that have made my screen disappear?

I don't think Resco Task Manager is the problem. I have it installed, and I still have the Lock screen that displays when I hit the red key.

Once you go to the start menu, select SETTINGS. Then tap the MENU soft key in the bottom right and select ALL SETTINGS. You should see LOCK in the top-right. Tap it, this locks your screen. Immediately unlock. You are now at the LOCKSCREEN OPTIONS page. Set accordingly. Save. Tap OK in top right. Done. Drink a beer.

I already tried this before.. Tapping on the Lock icon in the "ALL SETTINGS" does not lock the screen. Instead, it directly takes me to the password screen (maybe what you referred to as lockscreen options) where my first choice is a checkbox for "Prompt if phone unused for ___ mins and the other option is to choose a password.
Yeah that's the stuff. That's where you enable it. Check the box, set the password (pin).
Sorry for not realizing you had been there. If setting and saving those options doesn't work, not sure what to tell you.
Are you connected to an exchange server?
(you have to make sure after you hit the obvious SAVE button that pops up, you have to hit the OK button in the top right the screen.)

Unfortunately, another feature sorely lacking in WP7. I just lock and unlock my HD2 to see the status or go to the phone call history screen.
Hi friends,How i can place home button shortcut on status bar? Thanks in advance

On original quicksettings, dunno.
With 3rd app, possible.
Google for an app that can put shortcuts in notification panel.
Add a shorcut/activity/"your home launcher"=>home activity.
That's one way to succeed.
One app I use is Power toggles from here https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.painless.pc&hl=fr
Another solution is to install all in one gestures from here
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.phoenixstudios.aiogestures&hl=fr_FR
Here you can set what you want in screen edges that you choose yourself.
I use it from ages, really great application.
Reply me if what I say is not clear enough.
Good luck
Franky
Thanks for the information.
Thanks for the useful information Sir.I installed it but i get another quick toggle window below the original one.

Use reply if you want a quick response
Yep, that's why it's for.
Here you choose shorcuts of:
- app you want
- activity you want (here, your launcher's home activity)
- and more options...
If you don't like this solution, choose the second one
My pleasure
