Hi there,
I've done a search and can't find anything relevant to this query.
But I wonder if there's a piece of software that will automatically keep trying to send sms messages if the send initially fails.
I quite liked this feature on old nokias I've had where if I had no signal when I sent an sms it would just keep trying to send it every 5 mins until it went.
It's quite irritating on the THD where I have to keep trying from the outbox.
Thanks for any info
Justin

I'm going to do a hard reset and rebuild the TyTN. I want to keep my text messages. Anyone know what file/s and where they're located that I need to backup?
Any other tips on rebuilding?
I found SMSes notoriously difficult to extract from my PocketPC2002 / 2003 devices; Jeyo Mobile Extender, however, seems to do the trick, although it can be a little clumsy to sue at times (especially if you have many folders).
Spb backup.
Slightly off topic - I'm not a big user of SMS. I have a couple of alerts set up to provide train service updates during my commute, and occasionally exchange a few txt messages with a couple of friends, but I've never had a text message that I wanted to keep after I've read it. I usually delete them immediately. Out of curiosity, what kinds of messages do you need to keep?

I've got hundreds of message sent between myself and my girlfriend over the last three+ years ... soppy, I know, but the memories are great to look back on sometimes
There is a product I've just seen on this link which might do this for you
http://www.pocketgear.com/software_detail.asp?id=19302
but it might be a bit much for just wanting to back up sms messages.
I had the same problem, my kids send me text messages all the time, and I tried to keep the ones like for passing exams, driving tests etc, but lost them all on an enforced hard reset. Very upsetting. I wish there were some program which just put them into text, or word and you could keep them that way.
Good luck
I've noticed something that my ancient Nokia phone would do, but that WinMo is missing.
If you tried to send an SMS but didn't have signal, the message would go into your outbox. Then when you had signal again the phone would send the message automatically without intervention.
But on WinMo, the message fails and ends up in drafts.
Does anyone know a way of having the message sent automatically when coverage comes back?
I'm interested too...
Me too. I asked this same question in the "Questions and answers" forum here, as I didn't think it would be device specific.
Does anyone knows how to leave sms in outbox? It's stupid that sms are left in drafts...
That would solved my problems with errors when sending (sometimes)...

Can it be done with somekind of reg tweaking?
Hi guys,
I've been having issues with sending text messages in the past few days, and it has come on since being at my parents. At first I thought it might have been a problem in the local area, but today I travelled out of the area and my texts aren't getting through still.
I have the delivery report turned on, and each time i send a message that is greater than 160 characters, it comes back saying "The message sent to <recipientname> is not reachable". I've done a bit of googling but I haven't found anything useful. I only really text my girlfriend and we quite often send messages that are 160 characters in length. \
Any ideas what a cause may be? I will be trying to contact the mobile operator (T-Mobile) but I want to be sure it isn't the phone being silly.
Much appreciated if you guys can help
could be a simple hangup between area antennas.
Have you done a soft reset ? If yes, simply run the com wizard again and it should work.
A soft reset has done the trick, thanks
I am having a similar issue except that any text message above 159 characters is not received by one particular person I send it to. I am using my HD2 on O2 contract and the person I am texting is using an LG 910 on Virgin Mobile PAYG. They can send me long text messages fine but they just can't receive them from me.
Also, other people using different phones on different networks can receive long text messages ok from me. Also the person I am texting can receive long text messages from other people.
If I send a long text message with the *0# sequence to request an SMS delivery notification I get a confirmation back saying it was delivered but the person I sent it to never receives the text.
I am wondering if this is some compatibility issue between the HD2 SMS messaging software and the LG 910 phone. Its all very annoying!
Also a soft reset doesn't make any difference either.
Many thanks,
Richard.
Hi everyone,
Since the last Sony Ericsson update, throw SEUS, i'm getting an annoying error. It says: "android.mms has to be closed".
Then, when i try to send one sms to one of my contacts, if its to long, does not send. If i restart my X10, it gives the same error as described above, and when i enter handcent sms, i see, not 1 sms, but three equals sms's that handcent is trying to send at the same time...
I'm getting tired of this. I've reinstaled the software, everything...
I need some help here.
Thanks in advance

Hello and welcome
Have you tried a hard restet of you phone, it will delete all of you apps and stuff on the intern memory
Yes, I've tried that, but after reinstalling some apps it starts again...
the same thing has been happening to me. but it does not happen to every contact. i can spend the hole day sendind sms, but at a certain point i try to send a sms to somebody, and that sms just isn't sent, and if i in the minute later try to send another sms to another contact, the message is normaly sent. This started to happen after the last update, the same as you.
unfortunatly the android.mms string controlls everything to do with sms and mms on the handset, even after market sms and mms apps have to use that string hence the problem you have.
the only way to fix it is to do a handset repair on the pc companion.
I've already did the pc companion repair...nothing! It drives me crazy this "android.mms" error
what i usually and always solve my problem (at leat for a couple of days) is to erase the problematic messages you couldn't send, and restart the handset. when i turn it up again, i'm able to send sms to everyone again.
As you all now, we can't send sms to more than 20 people at a time. To solve that problem, I downloaded handcent app and I'm able to use group sms now. But, I had two really big problems with messaging.
1) I always receive this message asking me if I want to allow:
"Messaging is sending a large amount of SMS messages. Do you want to allow this app to continue sending messages?"
The thing is, I receive this notification for at least 5 times in a row, while I'm sending group messages and it's just unbearable.
2) I sometimes receive notification from handcent that my messages are not delivered and those times, it's almost 10 messages, making the phone unusable for me. I read that it's a problem with smsc settings, but I receive "This application does not work on this device." error when I want to go to Phone info. My service center address is correct, so I don't know if that is the problem.
I really want to solve this issues, so here is my question. If I install a custom rom, will it solve the "not being able to send to more than 20 people at a time" problem for me, therefore solving all my other problems? And if so, will any custom rom will do, or should I install something specific.
Sorry to keep it long, thanks in advance.
