Hi,
do you have to re-calibrate touch display? On my old MDA Compact I I sometimes have to recalibrate, for instance when temperature or humidity (exterior in winter) changes rapidly or (probably) when dirt gets into the slit between the display and case. I want to get rid of the old pains with new device.
Thanks, Jan

Try this:
1. Wait till the screen misaligns
2. Switch off device
3. Use a clean cloth and apply pressure EVENLY on the WHOLE of the screen (as if 'ironing' the screen)
4. Power on the device
My XDA Trion (HT626) re-aligns itself WITHOUT having to go through the screen alignment 'routine'.
How about yours?

And how long you have to re-do again ? Or only one time for yours then no more misalignment?

Re
I don't know, here are my thoughts.
I am 99% sure that screen pressure will affect alignment - when I had misalignment, i used the stylus to press the screen in different areas, the contact point position will change in response to this, though i have no idea where it will change to.
So even if my method does have some effect, eventually the screen layer will 'loosen' again and you will have to 'press it back'.
The 'loosening' of the screen layer may be due to vibration, heat (from battery?), deficient screen etc.
a question a bit OT: how much time after the first start your TyTN had the mis-alignment of the screen? you found it also in the very first days of use?
whassup people
had the same problem..got the tynt yesterday..today have scrreen alignment issues..tried what u told me n works..
hopefully it will keep working
thanks
works for me too
I have had an m3100 for a month now and no screen problems until last week. getting more and more frequent now. 4 or 5 times a day at the moment.
sometimes just opening the keyboard and closing it again sorts it. sometimes just pushing the screen gently here or there sorts it. if I power off and run my finger around the perimeter of the screen that always sorts it out!
I have a screen protector fitted. is this a factor?
I think it maybe due to pressure on the casing when its in my pocket sending the screen out. I've never used the magnetic case and I've not tried the screw adjustment thing yet.
my problem is, is that i've flashed the rom so I not going to be able to send this back easily for exchange even though I have orange care.

a most probable hardware issue, i have my lcd replaced and everything went pretty okay
I think.... HTC produces device while they're drunk... How was it possible? I'm a developer and after I finished to develop a software "I MUST" test it because if something doesn't work my boss become a T-Rex, and "I WANT" test it because in my opinion custom satisfaction is much more important then moneies.
Sorry for my poor english, I'm lerning it.
I am a disappointed XDA Trion owner.
Anyone with this problem try this out:
Open up the keyboard and flip the device over so you are looking at the back.
You will see two screws at the top of the screen on the rear. Losen them off a bit and retighten, but so that they are NOT AS TIGHT as they originall were.
See how you go.
I saw this mentioned here...apparently it can fix the problem for good. The issue is that the screws were overtightened at the factory and there is also a seal that runs out the edge of the screen. As the device gets used/warm the seal expands a bit causing pressure to be applied. If the screws are over tight then this impacts on the touchscreen causing the misalignment.
Try it...might fix it...
Hey you guys, and galls of course..
I've gotten myself in a bit of a mess.
Took a plunge this weekend, with the Wizard still in my pocket.
It didn't get soaking wet, but still wet enough.
Took out the battery, and placed the thing on a heater next morning before firing it up again to make sure it was dry.
It functions fully, except my screen is very strange.
It almost seems like the brightness is completely up(not the light intensity) because I see everything with a "whitish" kind of glare over it..
Took out the LCD screen and left it to dry some more, on it's own, without the Wizard encasing, but after placing it back in, the "white" glare remains..
So now I have a fully functional Wizard, but a really unclear screen..
Does anybody recognize this?
Is there still water in the LCD that can't get out or something?
Or did I bust the LCD somehow by placing on a radiator to dry at home...
Just want to make sure I don't waste 80 euro's on a new LCD to find out that the color comes back to it before the LCD get's delivered from Tokyo.
I hope I explained the problem good enough so that someone recognizes it..
So please, please, pretty please with cherry's on top... Help???
And second question...
Does anybody know of a good wizard LCD supllier that ships to the Netherlands?
I found one on Ebay, who's gottan a complete LCD for 70 euro's with 5 euro's shipment..
Can anyone beat that?
It's the only supplier I can find on ebay using terms like HTC Wizard LCD or Qtek 9100 LCD.
Anyone?
Please help me...want to order it as quick as possible, because it's so f-ed up to try to discipher my screen as it is now...
So please, help me with above 2 questions..
Many thanks for the effort....
Bump!
Similar question, similar issue.
My wizard just got humid and was having the same symptoms, except now certain parts of the screen display colors incorrectly.
What to do!?

Unfortunately this sounds like the heat related alignment problem. When the device gets warm e.g when using wifi or charging say when connected to Active Sync, the heat causes a small internal expansion. This puts pressure on the edges of the touch sensitive screen.
If you have a warranty, use it, because there is no guaranteed fix.
If you don't have a warranty then the Wiki here outlines the things to try. Essentially for you I think it would be to unscrew by one quarter turn, the two screws on the back of the screen. Secondly, the business card trick of running the corner of the card between the screen edge and the bezel of the casing. There is a thin rubber gasket in there and the card can be used to free up a bit of room. This may cause small rubber granules to come free. Don't leave a lumpy mess of granules in there though. Best clear it right out. This is a warranty voiding procedure!!
Replacing the LCD is not likely to improve matters as actually the screen is probably fine, It's the pressure being put on it!

Thanks so much Mr.Michael Channon,

Well, as I said above it sounds heat related and there is no fix other than the things you have tried - you need a replacement. Someone on this board ended up keeping the device in the fridge so they could get half an hour from it before it conked out again. It's a replacement job IMHO.

I check temperature by BatteryStatus tool is : 45.7C (temperature is normal or not).
What is gets warm, CPU, VGA...
I think LCD hots not influence touch sensitive screen, becausse lastime I use XDA IIS device very host when use wifi but screen no problem.
dear all
I thought I was a lucky owner of the cool s200.
In fact, almost one month ago, the LCD has begun to be less responsive in the upper right part of the touchscreen. In the same zone I could see some kind of "scratches" or let's call them even "dirt bands".
Icons were harder to be recalled, and the "slide to unlock" feature was taking always a bit more of time and tries.
These "scratched area" was enlarging everyday.. and the more it grew, the less responsive the s200 would be.
Today, the Acer s200 definitely stopped responding, although the LCD shows still bright unaltered background image.
Please, have a look at the picture that I posted here
www .marcofama.it/2011/06/acer-s200-neotouch-problema-allo-schermo-lcd-risponde-parzialmente/
This has been shot yesterday
Frankly speaking, I don't know what happened
I was used to change the transparent cover every 3months, never treated the mobile bad, always cleaned the touch surface with cleaning paper for glasses. Never scratched it with keys in my pocket (always used a sock to protect the phone in everyday life).
Anyone knows what might have happened?
I'll open a RMA on Acer website... but this drives me crazy! A 400 EUR device, treated better than anything else.. cannot go broken like that.
Marco
This doesnt sound like a LCD problem.
There is the LCD display, which does the job to show the pictures and there is the digitizer or the touch panel... These touch panels become unresponsive after some time when they are resistive, like our touch panel is.
You could buy it at ebay and change it on your own to make your touch screen behave well again.
but to be honest, ive never seen this "scratches" before

whoa.. thanks for your feedback riotman.
That was my first impression too, as the images were correctly displayed..
I've taken my Acer to the closest Acer point today, and I need to wait for them to analyze it and let me know if that can be fixed under warranty, or not.
I'll keep you posted
thanks for your time!
Marco
Never seen this before on any Smartphone. I think it's maybe a default of connection, or some humidity. It's purely hardware, I think.
i've got the same problem but the warranity ended a month ago and acer won't repair it or take the phone back -.- this sucks..
The neotouch digitizer is poorly sealed, humidity and moisture will eventually find it's way in and start doing what it's currently doing eg, not responding on the oxidized bits.
No solution but to buy another digitizer on ebay and change it,they are cheap and you get the tools to help you do it as part of it.
There is a guide somewhere in here, I'll look for it...edit.. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=742642
edit again....I bought this one http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=360364252886&ssPageName=STRK:MEWNX:IT
Hi guys I won a HTC HD2 on ebay the other day for quite cheap. Although in non working order. Now the problem with it is the touch screen itself, I can unlock the phone and turn the phone on it's just when I do normal actions on the phone, it automatically randomly clicks anywhere. So for example I open the start menu app drawer, it keeps going into settings or inserting a shortcut.
So to cut it short, the screen is not responding to my actions, it does it's own actions, wierd.
So is this a digitizer fault or something else? What would I need to buy a digitizer or touchscreen lcd or whatever it is.
Thanks in advancement!
does it do that when its connected to a wall charger? does it mess up when it is laying still and flat on a stable surface?
if so, i've noticed that behavior when using some high amperage non-htc wall chargers...i think all of the ones that gave me trouble were cheap knockoffs or generic ones. i would get random screen touches here and there, especially when the phone was charging through the 30% to 90% range (approximately).
i'm not an electronics engineer (more of the software engineer variety) but maybe the high current causes some grounding/shorting of stuff that the HD2's touch screen can't handle.
in your case, might also be because some connector is loose or the screen isn't fitted properly. might just be a ****ed up touchscreen that needs replacing!
Yeah maybe, it's the middle section of the touchscreen that does it mostly. It's definitely not the charger i'm sure of it. Well i've bought a new digitizer off ebay, should fit in a few days and see how it goes.
