Hi,
In the instructions it shows in the radio pannel menu on the bottom right of the screen so you can set up traffic news, alarms, rds etc.
all of these things are not available through the settings menu via the pannel settings menu.
However I have a LIVE button due to vodadumb messing this up.
What i am asking is using SK tools program it gives me an option under category/system tweaks/tuneup and buttons tab it shows the soft key 2 as LIVE and the path as /windows/operaL.exe.
What I would like to know is if the soft key can be altered to enter the setting menu on the radio pannel that i am missing instead of the ****ty LIVE icon.
To get an understanding of what i mean please view
http://www.sonyericsson.com/cws/dow...6830/XPERIA X1__QG_Panels__EN_1213_0767_3.pdf
I can get to the settings however I cannot get the menu as described in this PDF
(check points 11 and 17 refering to a menu where you can set the alarm)
Can anyone help me or can anyone access this menu even with the custom roms?????
Thank you for your time
It is not your live button messing things up, I have the stock ROM on my phone (the default unbranded settings) and I have a contacts button instead.
As the radio is a today screen I am confused why it claims it would have a settings button at the bottom at all. Today screens usually have the default hotkeys you have configured in Windows, although I can't remember where you configure them.
But in answer to your question sadly I have no clue. I was not aware any of those options existed so I too am curious how you get to them. I had somewhat given the radio panel up as too limited as with any self respecting techie I didn't bother to read the manual.
Radio panel is very disapointing
I have noted the same issue. In the instructions manual I saw a possibility to set an alarm, which, in my understanding, would have made it possible to wake you up with your favorite radio station. But I can not find a way to enter any menu except the settings of the panels. By the way, does anyone know why there is no software in the other panels to make the radio work?

For those worried about the phone app using too much memory in the background:
WM2003 and WM5 compatible.
This program is used to toggle the phone.
Useful if assigned to a hardware key or a shortcut.
If the phone is open, it will be closed. If it is closed, it will be opened.
Please note, for VGA WM5 users use my VJBigPhone app instead.
This application supports international language versions. By default it will look for the "Phone" window.
If your phone is called something different, launch the application with command line parameters matching the name of the Phone.
eg In German
\program files\vijay555\vjphonetoggle\vjphonetoggle.exe Telefon
After installation you will find a shortcuts in StartMenu > Programs > Vijay555 > VJPhoneToggle.
Check it out on my website!
EDIT: guys I think I made the cab wrong. try the exe for tonight

Any1 got a screenshot how this looks like on a Qtek 9100
q-biq, it literally just closes the phone app. Or launches it. Nothing to see!

I didn't really understood the goal for this tool.
Phone dialer opens easly pressing the TALK button, and closes also easly by tapping on "X" or pressing END button.
For sure this tool is supposed to do something I didn't catch.
However VJ, I'd like to propose you a challenge, for another "similar" toggling tool.
The porpose is: I have a SIM Twincard to use with the mobile phone fixed in my car.
Whenever I power on the car, it is supposed to switch off the mobile phone to avoid SIMs interference. This is simple for a regular phone, but not so practical for a Windows PDA Phone.
You have to:
- switch device on
- tap on 'Radio signal icon'
- tap on 'Turn on flight mode'
And when leaving the car, repeat all again to activate phone.
My idea was a small program to assing to an hard button, which would toggle the 'filght mode' or just GSM radio.
So you have to press just on buuton like switchi.ng the on/off
What do you think?
Conchas: this application was made for mzaslam, under this thread:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=34718&start=0&postdays=0&postorder=asc&highlight=
He is concerned that the phone app uses quite a lot of memory in the background, even when not in use. Pressing ok just puts it in the background. So VJPhoneToggle fully unloads the phone app when you're finished with it, and loads it again when required.
Re the Flight mode thing: I will have to make this app, but I use a dual sim myself and also use the flightmode off > flightmode on trick to switch sims.
I use PhoneAlarm on my setup. This can be set up to launch from a shortcut to switch profiles, so for my setup I use a today screen shortcut on claunch to switch to flight mode, work, home etc. So for my setup I have three thumb friendly icons to activate profiles on PA. So I can switch easily from Today. Is that ok?
V
Yes it works.
... but I always hae been looking for a small toggling application, assignable to an hard button.
Conchas: I don't understand. What do you want your hardware button to do? Load/unload an app?
V
I want my hW button to toggle 'fligth mode' on/off.
Or more exactly the phone radio on/off as the wireless manager does. More precise, as nowadays allmost every PDA phone device supports BT and WiFi.
i.e. I would like to enable/disable the SIM ability to register into the GSM/3G network, in order to avoid interference with a second SIM (twin card), whenver required (e.g. using into a car).
It is not just a matter of the last phone switched on, because when travelling by car, as you move to other network cells, the first phone switched on most likely will take the handover.
Guys, this has been updated to not require an international parameter on the command line.
It should internally support all international versions. I hope!
V
Conchas, is this what you are looking for? Just copy the exe to your device and bind it to a hardware button.
Great, Koksie
It works!
I'm using it manually.
Can you tell, where to put the '.exe', so it gets visible to assign on the "Settings > Buttons"?
I 've added it to '\Windows', but didn't get it visible.
Thanks
Fernando
You don't have to put it in windows. Just make shortcuts to it in the start menu. Any startmenu shortcuts get picked up by the Buttons cpl.
V
Hi,
Forget it.
I miss something. In fact it was possible to assign to the buttons, if copied the '.exe' to '\Windows.'
Great!
Thanks Koksie

Hi there, I use quickmenu which is like the best program ever for ppc, but I can't find a way to add a wifi toggle to the quickmenu. Currently I have to go into settings->communications-comm manager and then turn on/off wifi which is very annoying!
Any way to add it to the list?
I use spb panel which does not have the wifi on/off toggle like the today screen.
THANKS!
phone alarm from pocketmax.net will do the tricks.
Or use pdaStatus which is a today plug-in, a screenshot in my post here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=459241&page=8
I use SPB Phone Today plugin... has made it ultimately easy! Can toggle all connections from it including bluetooth and wifi.
Try WirelessToday.cab; is shows you your Operator, BT status and WiFi status.
When you touch the today-item it will bring you to the comm manager.
Thanks, but I use the spb panel instead of today screen.
I assigned the left key button to comm manager for easy access.
attached is what you're looking for
I use this one to quick access to Wifi on/off http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=442727
check my new application, it is created to automatically control wifi and BT based on where you are. it might help you

I get al squares and unreadable fonts in start menu??
Hi All,
today i installed SPB Pocket Plus, a great app, but when i want to customize it, i experienced a problem, i could not view items in a drop down menu, it just shows 1 item and could not select another.
For example; when i want to change the Tab header position, it give me a dropdown menu, default is 'On Top', but i could not select another
could i change the settings for a dropdown menu in the registry, of is there somewhere a fix for it?
Using a Deepshining ROM with WM 6.5.
Thanks in advance!
i had the exact same problem which look like to be a rom issue but you can use the down arrow on the d-pad,it'll get u to the next option
when i press on the Down button on the d-pad. nothing happens.
There must be a registry tweak to modify the length of the dropdown menu.
looks like the SPB software modified is, because when i remove it, i could change 'button behaviour' . after installing SPbs software i couldn't.
when typing a character when the dropdown menu is selected it will change it., so defenately the length of the menu is not set correctly.
it used to work for me but all of theat was gone when i updated my rom, ofcourse i don't suggest that u do that for such a minor issue

Hi (I'm new here!)
I'm trying to set up my Touch 2 so that it looks and feels exactly how I want it, and I'm nearly there. The only issue I have is the bottom bar. On the home screen it current has "Phone" and "Contacts" as its default, and I'd love to either change it or (preferably) remove the bottom bar completely. I trawled through the user guide from htc.com and I've tried using the Search here to no avail so I just thought I'd ask. Any clues?
Thanks in anticipation....
(by the way, how do I take a screenshot of my phone to post on here?)
Hello,
I think you mean the softkeys...well, as far as i know there is no option to remove them but you can change them with this tool:

advanced config > menu > key mapping
Laberkopf
To make a screen shot you can use this program...but there are many more.......when you search
Can someone provide me with a cab that would allow me to touch the alarm icon indicator on the home page (just below clock and above calendar) that would jump me to the "alarm settings" page? I am new to the HD2 and the only way I can find to navigate to the alarms is through Settings>all settings>clocks & alarms. Alternatively, I would like a way to create a quicklink to such things as Alarms; sounds; and system. I am not brave enough to use registry editor yet, so something simple would be helpful. I am using an unlocked TMo on ATT. Thanks
ROM: 2.10.531.1
ROM Date: 2/22/10
OS: 5.2.21889 (21889.5.0.87
see the control panel items link in my sig.
Really? Can't you just tap the clock and then navigate using the tabs? I have the tmous version.
(lol i did think that, too, on mine i tap the alarm button on the homepage below the clock to get htc alarms, but that was so obvious i assumed the OP meant windows alarms, heh.)
Yeah... that functionality is already there... :S
Jump to Alarms
Perhaps I am missing something, but it does not work for me to "tap the clock" to get to the clock or the alarms. Nor does it work for me to "tap the alarm" indicator. The only way for me to get to the clock or the alarm is the method that I described earlier. Nothing happens at all if I tap the clock or by tapping the alarm indicator. If there is some way to set the clock on the home page to respond to my "tap" then I don't know what it is and would appreciate someone telling me how to do it. I will investigate the method mentioned above by samsamuel about setting shortcuts to control panel items tomorrow and post my results.
have you been messing with cookies home tab settings? because that program can set what program ( if any ) comes up when you tap areas of the screen.
failing that i'd be backing up and hard resetting.
Hmm
Since i got my phone Orange UK i have been able to tap the alarm icon to go straight to the settings.
ROM 1.66.405.2 WWE Manila 2.5.1921
Can't access clock / alarm from home tab
Samsamuel: Thanks for the control panel quick links work around. I've created the shortcut links following your directions and was then able to add a quick link on my home page to go directly to the clock / alarm. In my case it actually takes me to the alarm page first which is just what I needed. I'm still unsure why I need this if other users are able to access their clock and alarm directly. You asked about messing with home tabs and cookies. I have not done that (or at least not on purpose that I know of). How do you conduct a "hard reset"? I've installed the one touch "soft reset" cab which works great, but hasn't fixed my clock problem. If I do a "hard reset" will I have to reload my contact data, quicklinks, reload the cabs I've installed, etc? I'm just a new guy trying to get my phone to do what I need. Thanks to everyone that has helped so far.
to be honest you're better off using the windows alarms anyway, i don't quite trust the htc one just yet, not that its failed, it just doesn't seem quite as solid.
to hard reset, remembering that this is a factory reset, phone is wiped, so back up ya stuff, power off the phone, press and hold both vol up and vol down. it can be a touch tricky, i find you get a better press with the battery cover off,,,, press and hold those two, and tap and release power. phone should start into bootloader but immediately turn grey with blue writing. you can release the vol now.
Windows vs HTC clock / alarm
How do I know whether I'm accessing the windows or HTC clock / alarm? The control panel quicklink I've established takes me to a page that looks like my old windows phone alarm page. Is the item on the homepage (which doesn't work) supposed to take me to an HTC clock / alarm? If I do a hard reset, it sounds like I'll have to reload all of the cabs I've just installed (task manager, battery indicator, zoomer, keyboard, soft reset, etc.). I presume that my sim card contacts will be left alone. Is there another way to reset / clear cookies without doing the hard reset?
If you do have Co0kie's Home Tab installed, run the CHTEditor, go to the applications page and click on Alarm. Then, select "Default" (bottom right softkey) and "Menu", "Exit" and apply changes (if it asks). If it doesn't ask if you want to apply changes then it was already set as the default application and something else must be at work here.
Windows clock vs HTC
I do not have CoOkies Home Tab. From what everyone is saying, my home page is not responding properly, but I don't know why. I am willing to do the hard reset, but would rather not go that route unless it is necessary since I will have to reload a bunch of stuff.
I would definitely consider a hard reset if the quick links are not working.
I'm not convinced that the HTC alarm is less reliable than the windows mobile one since the HTC alarm is just a nice interface setting the windows alarms!
