youtube not working! - XPERIA X1 General

Ok, guys i have downloaded and installed the youtube cab and the youtube panel plus the two additional files - the patch and the registry one. When the youtube app opens its shows the vids and everything is ok but when i click on a vid it gives me an error. What is the cause of this?

YouTube stopped working.

So I installed TCPMP, with the necessary plug-ins to get Youtube videos from the browser to automatically open them in TCPMP. It worked for a while but apparently youtube changed their system and both mine and my friends 8525 wont play them anymore.
Is there a fix for this yet?
same problem here using schaps 3.6a rom
Youtube changed something on their site, that's why it isn't working anymore until the plugin gets fixed.
Mobytube still works tho.
Mobytube.net still works. It's kind of a mobile sized search engine for Youtube - I found it quicker than navigating via youtube itself.
There is a fiX!

YouTube Downloading

Hi, i know the touch diamond has a you tube application, but does it allow you actually download the videos and watch it later without any connections. or is there any other application that will allow me to download youtube videos??
Thanks !
Well I know you can paste the youtube url of the video on a site like keepvid.com and it lets u dl the file in mp4 format, and use the built in video player to play it smoothest
No, the YouTube application does not allow one to save the videos to the device, though I can say it is a great little application. They seem to have kept it rather basic, yet done a great job with it.
You have access to what I believe is all the videos from YouTube, so not like with the iPhone where you had videos compressed and put into a format suitable for iPhone.
With the YouTube application, you can Bookmark your favourite videos, search videos, see lists of top rated, featured and most popular videos, you can send someone links to the videos by email (not really looked at that feature) and there is the setting where you can have it on fast download or higher quality streaming and then there is auto which I think is based upon your internet connection speed.
To watch the videos, there is no better application out there that I am aware of. I also use CorePlayer occasionally too.
As the previous poster mentioned, you can access YouTube through your web browser, take the URL, copy and paste it in at Keepvid.com and then save the file to your device that way.
Here is Youtube downloader found on the xda
I found a Youtube downloader found on the forum

Youtube player on Touch HD

I have been trying to get the Youtube play to work without success. I installed all the pieces but whenever I try to open the TCPMP plugin I get a notice crash.txt, send to developer, the program will now close. I cannot enter any configuration to make changes.
tcpmpplugin-v0.42c
tcpmp.pocketpc.0.72rc
youtubeplay.cab
The videos play, but there are some issues like stopping and closing, which I believe might be fixed if I was able to enter the configuration settings.
All are installed in the system, in the same directory.
Any help will be appreciated
Solved
I found an updated file if anyone is having the same issues.
tcpmp-0.72RC-ARM-PPC-RECOMP-01.cab.
imho then the 2 standalone youtube apps are better then using tcpmp
I use the ones
called youtube and the one called youtubePlay

Can't watch videos on my HD2

My HD2 all worked fine up until i installed the YouTube cab. file (as my phone came without it installed) Now it's installed and working i can't watch any video at all (eg. using the camcorder works but when i go to play it back it does'nt play? Or if i bluetooth some videos from other mobiles straight to mine it doesnt play either) Anyone know why this is?
I have the same problem. I also have installed Youtube.
My radio FM doesn't work too !!!
Remove Youtube and see what happens?
Removing Youtube fixes the issue with HTC Video Player. There could be a conflict with dll shared by both applications, one being in ROM, the other in memory.
Yes, removing the youtube application enables the video player to work. So there must be a reason in regards to the application why the video player does not work. Does anyone know a way round this?
Thanks for this. Removing youtube does make the videos start working, but is there a way that i can have youtube.... and my videos working ????
someone has to edit the cab-file of the youtube client and delete the entries of the following files in the setup.xml:
voMP4fr.dll
voMP4FW.dll
voMP4Enc.dll
voMP4Dec.dll
HTCSrcFlt3.dll
HTCRenderFlt3.dll
Because these file (in newer versions) are already on the HD2 and should not overwritten by youtube client installation.
i have no tool to create or edit cab files - so i can not do this....perhaps some one can do this.....
I guess you guys who miss the YouTube app are on T-Mob ROMs...
Maybe a crazy suggestion: Use the "Xmas Goldcard" to flash a "Generic" ROM in your language, they´re all available here... after that change, you will have all standard stuff, but no T-Mob mods...
same probleme , but need youtube also

I'd be very appreciative if somebody could do this. I don't want to have to do a factory reset to get my Youtube app to work.

Can't you just delete the files? I'm not sure, but I assume it works the same as the Diamond, where overwriting the files writes to an overlay... deleting the files makes the original visible.

No idea, tried changing setup.xml and repacking the CAB but all I achieved was to ruin the cab file
So guys ? Can you please make Youtube + video playback work
without having to flash the device as I don't want to void the warranty
Until you guys find a solution, you can play all your videos on Coreplayer no problem ..
I have just realised I cant play my videos. After reading this thread I suppose it is the you tube app. I will now uninstall the app and see what happens. I will write back to tell the result.
Yes. It is the you tube app stopping the camcorder from playing the videos. Can someone plz post link to you tube app that does not give this problem. Also, is there a fix to skyfire so that it plays the sound of the video also. Thanks in advance.
I can watch video in youtube, but im mean can not watch video file in my htc hd2
ive found a solution for this (watch youtube via app AND watch mp4s via Sense videoplayer: HD2 built in player)
you need to install the app from internet explorer on your mobile - it will not work from opera, skyfire or web n walk
m.google.com/youtube
bingo!

YouTube links from external sites not working

Over the past week I have noticed that if I click a link for a YouTube video from some place like facebook, instagram, reddit app, that the video fails to load. I'm instead taken to the YouTube home screen and get an android system message on the bottom of my screen that says "Can't load link".
I'm 100% stock with the latest security patch, and in the U.S. Initially I thought it was a Facebook problem, but it appears to be any link to a YouTube video that causes it. Embeded YouTube videos play fine.
These linked videos play fine on other devices.
