Hi all,
i tried to install the Opera rip from the Touch HD which was posted here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2842296&postcount=1523
first thing to say is it is amazing fast compared to our build in the X1 and it is wqorking really good, but there is one really big problem which makes it useless
If you wanna key in an url with the Hardware keyboard, then after starting after some seconds the fild disapears , with the software keyboard this problem doesnt happen.
I really hope that sony comes soon with an update, or an developer can fix it on this build haha

yes if you longer dont write something but with the HTC build you can write and it will go away anyway so this is an different problem
the X1 version of opera is said to be optimized for the X1 and running really fast (@pocketnow.com Review Youtube Video)
so why install the Touch HD version ?
the TouchHD build is much faster then the built in version, also it has an better xperience in my eyes when it comes to zooming and other things
its still version 9.5, just another build...cant make much difference
did you try it with the same websites, same connection speed etc ?
believe me it is a lot faster on same webpages with same connection (WLAN)
the page rendering is faster, how it displays the page is better, specially on zooming, loadtime is better.
Believe it, i tested it, but have to hardreset to get it away again and to get the originla opera for x1 again.
regards cHarOn
alright, but with that bug you mentioned its not really worth changing
yes agree , its not worth, thats why i posted it , to warn the users, or maybe to see some developers to have an solution for that , maybe i should try an Touch Pro build also, but that is only for VGA and i dont know what happens then
I'm using 2723 and it's much faster than the default one. It loads pages faster, plus it scrolls much much faster, the flick scroll can keep up with your flicks.
The onlt thing is it can't use the default startpage and uses it's own.
I've been trying loads of builds, but I think this is the latest from the Opera site.
works there also the hardware keyboard as it should, i mean if you key in an long webadress will it stay viewable?
ok tested the last beta and you are right, it runs also really fast, same as the Touch HD Build and the good thing with the beta is , it doesnt overwrite the SE Build, it makes an extra installation called Opera Beta, so you can easy remove it again if you dont like it, or let it installed and you can use both
where to you get that build ? Just the latest version from the opera website ?
What about Skyfire ? I heard that is the best browser for WinMo

SkyFire won't even run in VGA let alone WVGA
What build is the buildin one (since I don't have my X1 "yet")? I remember there are 2 major version for Opera. The build 2xxx version has this keyboard timeout issue while the 19xx version will not on my Att Tilt
2141 is the build which is installed

But it is actually the same problem,it dissapears while i write.
trying out the new beta (9.51) and there the google-field works ok,it,s also faster and more polished in zoom and so on higly recommended.
hmm thats strange, that doesnt happen on mine, it only happens if i stop writing and wait some seconds, but on the HTC build it happens after writing 3 letters and i am fast
so i got 951b2.cab from the website, is that the build you refer to ?
will get my X1 today hopefully

Well then I'd hate to say this but the QVGA cab does not work on my HTC Touch running stock Sprint 6.1 ROM. Says "Unable to install Opera Mobile 9.5. The device does not have a valid ROM version.". I checked the cab and it's not limiting to specific platforms and I've had this error before on another Opera cab and removing the Setup DLL from the cab fixed it. I'll try that and let you know. Thanks.
same problem on my Sprint HTC Touch for the QVGA, running NFSFAN's rom and can't install.
Removing the Setup DLL from the cab fixes it.
ooppppssss hold on i will fix that
ok it is fixed and reuploaded now
installs now, thanks. seems pretty speedy!
Hi, some question:
We can use flash in this build??
Do you gonna release Sd version for the app (for qvga version)?
Thanks

Does this also include all the other Raphael devices like the unbranded Touch Pro or an Xda Pro or is this really a Fuze-only build to be used on AT&T's network?
anybody know the changes?
sorry that i'm asking, but i was looking for a changelog everywhere, no luck.

the one labeled - fuze vga - is set up for at&t since i have a fuze
the one labeled - vga - is for any vga device
the one labeled - qvga - is any qvga device.
Ok, thats what I figured, it might be preconfigured (guess proxy settings and stuff) specificly for the Fuze and not any Raphael. Thanks for the answer, will try the build. I'm on 15202 now and it works really well on a Touch Pro, massively better than the 15529 or so, it's got zoom and renders really quickly.
Is there any consensus on whether 15202 is the most reliable/effective Opera build thus far?
I will tell you which one works better for me, this one or the 15202 once I managed to get this on my mobile. I'm currently fighting with Netbook-Touch Pro-connectivity related problems and I'm too lazy to get out of bed to try the whole thing upstairs with my Notebook...
This is the best bulid of Opera 9.5 i have used and the fastest, works fine on Htc Blackstone

Cant agree, lucian777. For me 15202 is better, mainly because
Nicer loading screen
Adaptive Zoom settings are right after install, no manual tinkering
15202 got the bottom left zoom slider
cant make out any speed differences so far
So no advantages but no real drawbacks either, so I stay with 15202 on my Touch Pro.
Edit: Big drawback, this 15445 isnt uninstallable!
Edit 2: And no other Opera will install ontop of it, tells me installation failed... gotta love those hardresets... *grmpf*
Hi all,
anybody experienced the same issue with a not-startin fring? So far I installed fring (version for Xperia and "other WM") but tipping the icon won't start fring, just the icon gets enlighted and nothing more happens.
Has anybody got an idea how to get to work with fring?
Thanks, Bluiecharge
Looking at fring here im seeing no mention of 6.5, i cant really tell you how much changed between 6.1 and 6.5 (to me id say just the design) but i guess theres something there.
Your best bet would be to email fring support (or something, contact fring) asking if they are working on a wm6.5 version
From previous reports, it seems there is some issues with htc message in manila 2.5.
Its currently not supported.
You could still run it if you turn off sense from Today's items

I have had it working on the 1.43 rom but before i tried it i had disabled manila and also disabled the HTC messaging app (with a cab posted on xda)
Not working for me either. Shame, as Fring was one of the best things about my Kaiser (and yes, the audio DID correctly re-route to the earpiece!).
Hi
Do you know what Fring verstion I need to install on my HD2?
Thanks
It's not good news fo fring and HD2
Fring Support send me this letter -
"Thank you for contacting our support team.
Unfortunately, we do not support your handset type, once it is supported, we will announce it on our website."
Use Palringo, it's better anyway.
Or Nimbuzz...
But none of them is capable of VoIP calls as fring is. (...as fring would be, if they hadn´t overslept supporting WM6.5).
I got Fring to work when I disabled sense and HTC messaging

Hello,
thank you for the hint! Thats why I got Fring working one time, but did not know why
Could you please tell me where to disable HTC messaging?
Thank you!
If you want Fring (available version) on Leo you need:
1. Download fring for vga device (like Touch Dimond) from fring.com and install it
2. Disable HTC Sense (Settings - Menu- All settings - ToDay -elements - Unchek HTC Sense).
3. Tap MS button - start fring - setup your account and connect
4. Enable HTC Sense ( Settings - Menu- All settings - ToDay - Chek HTC Sense)
You need to do this steps after reset or power on your Leo
Man, I need this.. but I dont want to disable HTC Sense!!!

This didnt work for me. Did you need to soft reset somewhere or do you have to install to phone memory?
Thanks!

Hi there,
Can you tell me which version you used. I tried downloading the windows mobile touchscreen version from their website but the .cab link doesnt work.
Cheers,
Fring is installed in main memory without soft reset.
hi guys
any luck with fring and hd2? Both Nimbuzz and Palringo dont give chat message received tone when on sleep mode but fring does.
I contacted Fring about the HD2 and got them to add the HD2 to the list at the following URL :
If you want to be notified when support for your handset is available, please fill up the form at:
http://reg.fring.com/app/newhandset... your Email Addres&country=Enter Your Country
Might be worth adding yourself as they may fix it quicker if they think enough HD2 users are wanting the issue resolved.
since I installed the 'Touch-It' rom, I have no problems running Fring with sense plus its installed on the memory card the only minor snag is that the bottom of the fring window is hidden behind the new windows 6.5.3 soft keys.

Hi
I currently use the previous HTC Touch 3G and i would like to know if call recording works flawlessly with apps such ACR , Vito , RescoRecorder ( Any of these will do but i like ACR )
I am about to change my old phone an this looks like my best option at the moment
Thanks
i don't know about any of these maybe because the inbuilt one fits the bill.
ACR works okay on touch2, have tested myself.
abe
Thanks a lot
RescoRecorder works okay - little bloated it appears (seems to lag sometimes - so you have to turn down the audio quality) but it does work for most requirements.
Which version of ACR are recommended? I have tested myself version 1.2.3 and brings a error message when the phone starts up.
Regards,
David.
