How to block outgoing calls? - Touch HD General

I want to stopp my HD to start outgoings calls because in the last weeks many times some clicks on buttons started calls without my consent. Is there a way to bar all outgoing calls but to keep gprs data connection active?

keylock your phone when its in your pocket? (hold the end key for like 5 sec)

I do not want to lock the phone just outgoing calls. E. g. I want to be sure that there a no calls starting while I am watching a video on my HD.

Try SPB Phone Suite, it can do the trick!

If you don't need any other connections like internet, Wifi, Bluetooth or GPS etc. you could also just put the phone in airplane mode (or turn the phone connection off) while you watch your video. Of course, you won't be able to receive any calls either. But - it's just a thought.
By the way, how do you accidentally call while watching a video? I have never accidentally called (except when in the dial pad with list of recent calls above it). But while watching a video??

You can try MagiCall.
I use it for exactly the same reason.

receiving calls while online (edge) with wing?

Hi,
I have a t-mob wing (after I drove over my magician and I have the following problem: When I am having an active data connection I cannot receive any voice calls. The calls are going directly to voice mail, without notifying me. Once I stop the data connection I can receive calls again and than I will see that I missed a call.
I talked to t-mob support, and after doing a hard-reset (of course) they told me that this is a known problem with the wing, that they are trying to fix it and that there is nothing they can do right now.
1. do other wing users in the US experience the same, so is it the default behavior, or am I just unlucky? (it worked great without a problem with my magician btw)
2. as sometimes during the day the internet connection automatically gets connected (activesync I guess) I never really now if I am able to receive calls right now. Is there a workaround to manually start up and stop the internet connection without the device automatically connecting whenever it feels like it?
thanks in advance

interesting ...
I have had a lot of complaints from people telling me that when they call me, it goes straight to voicemail.
I'm also a US Wing user, and I can confirm that is happening to me as well. Was checking sports scores on my break at work earlier, and my girlfriend called me, and I got a voice message from her...but it never showed that she called.
I also have the issue with people in my fave 5 not showing in the call history anyway, so I guess I lose both ways.
hm,
ok, seems to be a generic problem. Is here anyone who successfully gets voice calls while on a data connection with a wing/herald/p4350?
would be interesting to see if it is a t-mobile or device problem.
thanks
I got a HTC wing and i still get incoming call while browsing the internet. No problem here. i've tested a couple times and they all went through. I have T mobile

hi hondaman,
thanks for the info. whats your provider?
thanks wolferl
"active" data connection is the key
I have the same problem, no voice calls with an active data connection. For me, it seems to be only when the data is actively transferring, like streaming audio or a largish download. Straightforward web surfing doesn't seem to cause the problem, I've received multiple calls while surfing. But during streaming audio, calls go to voice mail every time.
I swear to you, I get calls when I am using data all the time on my Wing. I have the stock T-Mo rom and everything. No CID unlocking, no SIM unlocking.
It happens to me alot that people complain they have called me and it goes straight to voicemail... and its been in cases where im not even using my phone, and as far as I know, I have good signal.
I was running this GB soft program that kept my data connections always on... so I stopped using that to see if I notice a difference.
On the T-Mobile MDA it worked just fine, but on my Wing I can't receive calls while online either.
I just did some testing and I need to correct my original statement. Looks like kerrkj and the others were right. Just being online does not stop you from receiving calls. Just when you are transferring data, the line being actively used, you are not reachable. So, when you are web browsing, it depends whether the moment the call comes in, data is transmitted or not. I was testing accessing different web pages and a couple of times it worked and a couple of times it did not. When streaming audio the calls went to VM 100% of the time.
So, when I am using tomtom and having the traffic check activated, it will be pure coincidence whether you receive a call or not. When streaming audio it will be guaranteed that you are not receiving calls.
I am pretty sure that it was not like that with my magician. Hopefully t-mobile sorts it out sooner than later.
thanks for all your feedback
wolferl
it happens to me too, i know on sprint with the treo's you can run internet or phone, all calls will go to voicemail if you are on the internet. i just assumed it was that way with all of them.

Phone

Ever tried to call the Shift ?
I am using a multi-sim card (two devices one number).
If I have activated the modem (Comm Manager) and then I receive a call. The call is dropped (busy signal).
I am not able to get the phone call even on my mobile device, because the call has been dropped by the Shift (never had this with other devices,
the regular behavior is that all devices are ringing).
Is there any registry setting, where the behavior of WM can be influenced for incoming calls ?
Phone is not supported by the shift, no ingoing or outgoing calls are supported.
so why is the call then dropped ?
My best guess is that the phone functionality is there, but are missing drivers or have been disabled so the shift is configured to drop the calls (we know the hardware is there just waiting to be enabled)
Hi, I got a multi sim subscription too.
Finaly those anoying "missed call sms" that T-mobile sends, are usefull.
The shift drops the call but does receive the sms, so I can call back the person who was trying to reach me

Can't receive calls while listening to internet radio?

I searched around and was unable to find an answer to this.
When listening to streaming radio either through Last.fm or streamfurious I can not receive phone calls? If anyone calls me it goes directly to voice mail. As soon as I stop internet radio calls come through again.
Does anyone know of a way to fix this?
Thanks in advance.
Doug
If your not on 3G then it is because you are using all of your 2G service. If you use 3G then you can use it for data and internet and 2G for texts and calls.
Someone correct me if I am wrong.
Bleh, wrong thread. Delete plz!

Not knowing exactly how our phones carry the signal for internet and voice calls that seems like a logical answer to me. Huge drag for me though I love turning on internet radio in the car and piping it through my system. Even on 2g it sounds and streams great. But the lack of not receiving calls I suppose I will have to stop that habit lol. Who knows when 3g will roll out in my area...
oh well. Thanks for the info.
Doug
It's true that it's impossible to use data and voice at the same time on 2g, but it's the app that should pauze itself for an incoming call. Or Android should have been able to do this! Atleast that was the case with my last phone. While checking something on internet, call display appeared on incoming calls and browser disappeared. Call ends, browser reappears.

Well maybe it is something that just has to be change with the current internet music streaming software. I have tried three different ones and they all do this so it doesn't look good for a pause feature when a call comes through.
I have no idea how hard that would be to add to the current software. I suppose if you had 3g you wouldn't worry about this but as we all know, T-Mobiles 3g coverage is lacking.

Audio stoppage due to incoming calls

Is it possible to stop the phone from pausing music when a call is recieved? If the ringer volume is set to 0 then the music just pauses for the duration of the ringing then resumes. I work at a club and I use slacker radio for the first hour and its kind of annoying to have random pauses if I get a call -- and I obviously cant use airplane mode.
Maybe in the Media player settings... i thinkt there is an option
What if you set all calls to automatically go to voicemail during that hour where you don't want to talk to them anyways?

Thats fine with me, how do you do that?
bump...anyone know how to send all calls directly to voicemail?
I found the setting to forward my calls to other numbers....but id rather not my friends be getting all my calls for me haha
Do you have wifi available?
If you do you could first enable airplane mode and then enable wifi.
Your phone will then be disconnected from the cell network but have a working wifi connection.
(haven't tested this on my nexus but it worked on my hero)
The wifi there is not as solid of a connection at my 3G and I dont know if I trust it....I guess I can just set my phone to forward all numbers to like 9999999 or something haha...Kinda sucks there isnt an option to forward all calls to voicemail though...
could have sworn i saw an option in there to forward to voicemail.
you could set your forward number as your voicemail number.. should work the same I would think
*edit* oh and yes.. i have tried the wifi after airplane mode trick and it works just fine on the nexus.

Wifi SIP Calling

Hi, I'm new at this android thing, I got a samsung galaxy s plus, everything seems fine but one problem, when I am connected to my wifi and every time I want to call someone when I press the call button and enter the number and press the green call button it starts asking me to use SIP calling, I don't want that I want to use my cellular network to call, is there any way? Or do I have to turn off wifi every time I want to call?
Did you install any SIP software? Do you have a good cellular reception?
I have never experienced this issue while on wifi (and at home I'm almost always on wifi).
aside from Skype I have something called voipalot i use that for international calls
What happens when you remove this app? Skype should not be the culprit, have this installed too. No problems with it.
Sent from my GT-I9001 using XDA App
I had this problem with skype installed... Whenever I tried to make a call, a pop up usef to ahow up, it gave me 2 options, Skype and Phone... to avoid further pop ups, just click on 'use this program as default' check box at the bottom and select 'Phone'..... Pop up will not happen again...
I use csipsimple for me is the best.
