Mad vibrate mode - Touch HD General

Hi,
I would know if the HD do it also for you?
When I activate ring and vibrate mode for a call, the HD continues to vibrate about 1 or 2 secondes after I pick up...so I have to wait before answer !!!!
Is there a way to change it?
Thanks a lot...
Sorry for my english, I'm french !!!

It seems that the slider is somehow buggy. Try to answer the call with the pick-up button (bottom left off the screen) and the vibration will stop right on the pressing the button, without delay.

yessss you are right. I tried and it's OK.
But it too bad for the slider...no way to fix it?
Thanks

I got this problem, it's so annoying. People ask what the stupid noise is when I pick up their call. Bit rubbish from a £500 phone!

the new hotfix fixed this problem but also added a new problem.

same on my set, it's not every time but sometimes the vibrate would stop until I pick it up

mines too

Help - Cingular 8525 not vibrating anymore

Has anybody had this issue before?
I have an 8525 and all of a sudden it won't vibrate anymore. It was vibrating yesterday, this morning...nothing.
I have tried switching to a ringer and switching back, holding the side button to switch between vibrate and ring, and nothing. No matter what I do, it will not vibrate. When I put it in vibrate mode I just get silence when a phone call comes in.
Anyone have any thoughts?
Thanks

There are at least two threads on this. (code for saying try the google search sticky post ). I assume you have not changed any settings since yesterday? If not look at this thread. You might try phoning yourself with vibrate on and tapping/bumping the base end of the phone while it's ringing. If it starts vibrating then the contacts are loose on the motor - and even if it doesn't they may be loose:

If you need to post again or just to say if you have any success, use the thread above.

I screwed up! Volume slider not working...Is smartskey the solution?

Hi there. I opened up my Wizard (thinking I was ultra-cool) to fix a keyboard problem that I have been having (in landscape mode, the touch-screen doesn't work)...
After doing this, I landed up with a second problem. The volume slider doesn't work. Now, I can't scroll but more importantly, I can't mute calls (aka silence incoming calls, put the ringer off)
Whats the alternate solution? After several hours of research, I'm thinking this is the possibility. I can use a program like smartskey and re-assign the mute functionality to another button like the END button. For example, if a call comes in, the first time I hit END, it will silence it and the second time I hit END, it will ignore the call. Is that possible?
Please help. I am totally dependent on my wizard for EVERYTHING!

A Few questions about the phone part

1. I read that when a call is coming in and you turn it face down, it should mute the ringing. Doesnt happen here, how do you enable it?
2. When someone is calling me and i press the Mute Ring button, it doesnt mute the device or stop the vibration. Any ideas on this?
3. When i slide to ignore, it displays the call as missed, while it's not, i chose to ignore it, any way to fix that?
4. The phone part seems very slow, when dialed first the active call icon pops up then after some time the answer/ignore part comes up then again you wait some time until the ringing/vibration starts and when you answer it it takes a while for the vibration to stop. Also when the person calling hangs up, it continues to ring/vibrate for a while. Gotta say, that's the most annoying part, otherwise i love the phone...
Seems like you have an unwanted caller eh

Heh... no, simply testing and being disappointed
The phone program is by far the worst in WinMo imo, like everything else.
#1. if the phone is face down it will not mute; if it is face up and you turn it face down it will mute. it's not instant for me; takes about 2 seconds.
#2 is working for me; ringing and vibrating stops about 1 second after button press. not experiencing the other issue
#3 This (as i understand it) is expected behavior.
#4 i guess slow is relative to past experiences, in my case it's behaving as i expect it to.

Phone locks "on call" - phone app crash

Hi,
I faced this problem too often, so I ask on this forum to know if it only happens to me:
when I end the call, telephone programs stucks. In the top bar, the indication of an on going call is still there. Everything is working except telephone application. I can't open the telephone options. Even if I turn on Airplane mode, the phone logo in the top bar remains.
Any idea?
I had that problem once. Did it occur when you dialed a number not in your phone book? It turned out the prompt for saving a new dialed number was still there but I somehow couldn't access it. Perhaps turn that setting off?
no, it was an outgoing call to someone in my phonebook. (at least in my last problem)
facing the same problem. after ending a call the phone app freeze a couple of minutes and sometimes more than ten minutes
Did you installed the HTC patch to avoid the freeze ?
I didn't.
Could it be usefull there ?
This is really annoying if you have to wait 10mn before doing an another call !
Problem happened again
The problem happened again yesterday.
But worse. I was leaving a message on an answering machine. and I couldn't end the call !
Pressing the right key (end call) had no effect !
Usually in my previous problems, the other user was ending the call.
So I had to switch off the phone in comm manager !
I'm surprised that no one else faced this problem !
I tried to follow one's advice to wait then until phone gets back to normal. (release the phone icon in the top bar).
After one hour, I finaly rebooted the phone to be able to do an outgoing call.
Help !
Phone blocks during or after a call
Hello guys and girls
I had the same problem last week, a couple of times in a row, I was on the phone with a contact, after a couple of minutes I couldn't hear anything anymore and tried to end the call but no joy, a soft reset did the thing the first time, the second I waited a couple of minutes wich worked aswell. It was very annoying I must say especially as it happened 4 times in a row...
Hoping for a solution

It seems a bug. You can press volume up/down buttons on the device itself to open the volume bar screen. After that just press somewhere on the grey area to go back to home screen. The top bar will restore from the phone application.
It's not the top bar. The phone application is completely unavailable.
We see the top bar,but the phone icon is stuck. Like if we were still on call.
I too have a similar problem.
Although I haven't particularly logged the prolems, I think that it only happens on incoming calls, and not outgoing ones.
During a phone call, the incoming sound just goes mute, and afterwards I can't hang up the call.
I reckon I have lost well over half the calls I have received because of this.
Luckily, not many people call me!!
I reckon this is a CRAP phone, and am seriously thinking of getting a REAL phone, and just using the HD as a PDA device. Good old HTC!!!!!!
I edited the title of this topic.
The phone app is really stucked : I called an answering machine, I wasn't able to end the call !
Help !
I am thinking of changing ROM.

Call Pickup: Call pickup while phone is in my pocket. How to prevent?

hello xda community
i'm very new to the blackstone and this is my first post here. so please bear with me if i'm asking very basic questions here.
my problem:
i carry my blackstone in my pocket all the time. and many people told me throughout the last days that they called me and that i picked up the call by accident.
since i work at customer sites mostly my phone is muted. so people call me and somehow i pickup the calls while the phone is in my pocket.
i always turn of the screen and i have the automatic lock (password protection) enabled. still when the incoming call screen comes up it looks like it is possible that calls are being picked up.
i know there is the slide which has to be moved to the left in order to pickup calls.
i have tried myself by calling my from my home phone and touching the screen and the buttons at random. and indeed the calls are being picked up. i was not able to find out how this is happening ... but it does.
so is there any setting i can change or any additional piece of software i can install to make sure calls are only answered when i want?
possible a reg key i need to change?
any help is very much appreciated
cheers
This isn't just a problem with the Blackstone; every WM phone I have had does this. I have found that a good locking program handles this quie well. I personally like S2U2 by A_C, but there are many others available. You can look in the apps forum, or check the development & hacking forum from the main menu.
The other thing to check is that you have all your notifcations set properly. I set all of mine to vibrate only. Many of them turn on the screen by default. Unfortunately this won't fix the problem on its' own though.
mwelch16 ... thank you very much for the reply
i will give it a try and see how it works for me.
so that means first of all i will have to slide that iphone type of lock and then take the call by using the regular slider?
is there any other way (without) an additional piece of software to handle this? cause after all there is the build in slider ... but somehow it's not working as it is supposed to. any enhancement to that?
thanks again
Is there a way how to disable the CALL PICKUP button which is on the left? so the first of the four buttons?
I think it's because it getting pressed while my phone is in the pocket.
thanks a lot
I use Pocket Shield - it's not free (free to try though) but it's worked well for me

No, S2U2 will unlock itself for a phone call and then lock the phone again after the call. So no need to slide to unlock and then answer your phone. It has a bunch of different settings, and yes I believe it locks the hard buttons.
thanks folks for the replies
i found all the settings i was looking for in the S2U2 options. so i'm good right now.
thanks again
You're probably answering the call by pressing the "phone" button (the very left of the four buttons on the bottom). You can either use those buttons to answer/hang up, or the on screen slider.
I've used AE Button Plus to disable the 'Answer' and 'End' hardware keys and re-mapped them to turn wifi and bluetooth off and on. This way there is no chance of hanging up on a call by mistake since you need to use the slide to answer on screen.
Similar but opposite problem
I'm having a problem along the same lines. If I get a call when the phone is in my pocket and answer it on my bluetooth headset, when the call ends the phone then rings someone else, usually the same person who is at the top of my contacts list. Not only is this damned annoying for me, it's getting a bit tedious for the person getting the unwanted calls.
Is there any way to get the phone to immediately lock as soon as a call terminates to prevent this happening? I'm assuming that once the call ends and it returns to the default contact/dial pad screen, the merest brush against the screen will be enough to start a new call.
I'm beginning to think I should have stuck with my iPhone

I've the exact same problem, 3/4 of the incoming calls rejected when I get the phone out of my pocket due to End button accidentally pressed.
What did they thought when they implement the slide to answer ????
The purpose of the slide to answer is to avoid such accident, but why the hell did they keep the Answer / End buttons active ????? total non sense to me.
Will check if this AE Button + app can solve this annoying behaviour.
has anyone tried Lockmelite?
It may help - haven't used it myself though.
x 2 for PocketShield. It uses the light sensor in your phone to prevent the touchscreen from activating when the device is inside, say, a pouch, or in your pocket.
I'm using evaluation version 2.6.2.10, which as I understand it, has full functionality, except that every now and then, randomly (and IMO infrequently enough to not be annoying) before unlocking it displays a 10 second message saying that you're using an evaluation version. Note that this *never* happens during an incoming phone call. Good stuff.
Hi,
Try TouchLockPro :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=444215
Now it handle light unlock in any cases, that as solved all my issues (pocket, in cas BT,...) and fulfill all my requirements.
BR
Pocket Shield doing perfect job for me
I use AE Buttons Plus to disable the "Answer" & "End" virtual buttons. Then I used iconsoft Phonext to handle all my calling functionalities. When a call comes in, Phonext display a lock screen which you have to slide before it presents you with all the options like answer, decline, silence etc.
This way, I never accidentally pickup a call or dial a number.
