Without getting banned I'd thought I would ask the question first!
If I had a new XDA Trion for sale, could I advertise it here rather than put it on eBay?
I've done a quick search through the forum & couldn't find any rules.
Thanks
Jamie

It is good that you asked, alot of people think that trying to sale you phone on here is not good. But i think that sometime it is ok, but then sometimes not!!!
I think that if you write some thing and let it go for people to read, then ok, but some people i have seen will try and keep it at the top of the list and it just bugs people!!!
But if you are nice and dont bug people, i dont think anyone would moan about it!!!
so a long story short, i would do it but if some one does not like it, take it out!!!

There is truth in what Funman says. In general we do not allow selling of devices on the forum except now and again when someone is letting it be known their older device is now for sale. Occasionally it's ok on a device specific board if it's for spare parts. Also I think it best that such adverts are kept away from device specific boards and put in General or Off Topic. If I were you I would PM Flar our admin for official guidance.
Mike
Thanks for the advise. I think I'll just eBay it. I don't want to risk getting banned!
Thanks again.
Before you all start, yes iv searched !!!
I got a T Mobile G1 UK, locked with RC9. I can’t ring T Mobile because I’m not a customer there. Can anyone tell me if it’s possible to do it free or if not a reliable website that can help me if I have to purchase something?
Thanks for your time.

Yes there is a thread on unlocking on the Dev section of the Dream forum. Try searching there some more, as I saw one UK thread that had a little info.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=517810&highlight=unlock
Heres a link to a sim unlocking thread that deals with the US G1, but I imagine it's prob pretty similar.
The only way to get a free code is by having a t-mobile customer to get one for you. One of your friends, or anyone kind enough to get you one from xda. I'm hoping I can find someone as well.

CLICK
I found one on google already, but I thought there might be another way here via flashing the deviec like I did on the Sony X1.
thanks for the reply.
Thought this was funny, look at the adds for this thread (in attached screen shot).
This is funny too! XD
...Anyway, being serious...
No, there isn't any other solution for unlocking this. At least for now!
But as soon as an HardSPL comes out, you'll be able to do this work.... just wait some weeks
I just saw the ads in the previous post...
I nearly fell of my chair.... that was funny...
Cool I will wait for a Hard SPL then.
Thanks for the humour and info
This is the Developmental forum, please refrain from creating a thread here unless the thread meant to actually develop something. Read the forum rules, it's clearly stated in there.
Mate just buy the unlocking code from ebay. Easy way.
Hey i have the sprint gs3 now and i am jumping ship to at&t in a day or 2.. So im eaither getting the HTC one or the gs4.. I really want the gs4 but want to be able to unlock the bootloader.. I looked in the dev thread and didnt see anything.. Maybe i missed it? Is there a way to unlock the bootloader yet?? Thanks
I give you kudos for searching at least one sub-forum.
But you lose 20 demerits for failing to do a simple "bootloader" search from the forum tree (it was the first hit in the results).

First page of dev section. Has plenty of talk on last page or two about the unlock method and waiting for its release.

If you would even take 5 minutes to search you would have an answer. Not to be rude but seriously, search. Go to the guides section.

If you're too "noobey" to search, you shouldn't be rooting in the first place.
I have I found one method that you pay $15.00 for is that a stable root method? Thanks

No...whatever it is you are taking about is not legit.
This is the only known method, and the developers quite literally just accomplished it this week after many months of hard work. It is not released yet. You simply must be patient and wait like the rest of us. Here's the status:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=73355599&postcount=1453
Just FYI, it's frowned upon to start threads about topics that already have dedicated threads, and also very much frowned upon to not do your own reading & research here. The information is here for you, you just have to take the time to read.
Also, if root were so important, I would suggest purchasing a phone that wasn't so notoriously difficult to obtain. Just enjoy the awesome phone you have.
I do not intend to come off as rude...please don't take this as me chastising you, just hoping to inform.
