Hi All,
I am interesting to buy the HTC HD2, now I was looking over the internrt and I found some realy cheap deals, but I am not sure if those devices are a real HTC HD2, some of them I know for fact that they are from Chaina...
Well what I have in mind that we can organizew as a group and get a good deal with one of the HTC providers.
What I suggest that we will buy devices as one group.
What I think is the best way that every one will pay by credit\paypa\google to the provider, but we will pay as a group only after we will close a good deal, the provider will create an invoice for payment, every one will pay for his own device with his own shipment address.
I didn't start to bargen with providers\sellers, and I will start if we will enotgh people.
If you are a seller\provider and want to give us a good deal please add your comments.
If you know a seller - the same.
Now if you want to participate, please add your comment, in the begining we will see how many people want to buy then it will be easier to find a deal, for example, if we will buy 10 devices the price will be arround 600$ and if we will buy 20 devices the proce will be ~400$ per device.
Guys I am talking about devices with warnties from HTC not a fake one that you can find in 200$...
Sorry for my english....
seems nice idea
It does seem like an excellent idea in principle, but in practice any supplier providing group purchasing would want to deal with one purchaser only.
That would then mean one individual in the group having to bear the cost and the risk of anyone dropping out of the group after committing to purchase. I can't see too many people volunteering for that.
I'm not saying it couldn't be done, but it would require a high degree of co-operation and trust.
Does that even work?

I have done this before, if we will organize 20-30 people I think that every seller will work with us.
The committing will be done - or let's say this way, the supplier will charge and send the devices only if we will meet the agreement, I guess we can only try.
This is a big community, and I hope that togethre we can arange a good price for unlock devices...
Who is the provider of the phones? Do you know already?
What if the customers live in different countries? How does that work?
Ummm... 20 units for ~$400 each? I think this may be highly optomistic as I'm pretty sure most of the distributors don't get it that low.
If you have a reliable source who can, and is willing to supply that I'll take the risk and buy 20 myself to help get things going!
seems like a good idea. was thinking about the same thing before i got mine.
I was able to bargain my unit for $850 including shipping from 2 sellers on ebay (they were selling it for over $900). then i bought it from one. They might offer better price for group purchase. I also got 10% bing cashback, 4% ebay cashback and 3% mrrebates cashback bringing down my price to $700. fedex is delivering my unit today. let me know if you want me to check with the sellers..

I don't know yet, I will start to work on it this week, I will coontact the follwoing:
http://www.google.com/products?q=htc+hd2&aq=f
As I said in the first post, the seller will send each device to different location, we will pay differently for the shiping according to the location of every one that will buy the device.
it's really a bad ideal.
Hoping, though seems to be quite impossible. Providers or sellers might help if ONLY there is benefit for them which is none.
Hahaha where did you find this offer alibaba.xxx or something similar ? all those companies from china are SCAMMERS please stay away!
BTW. Did they promise any handsets gratis?
sounds like a dream.
i work at a shop where we sell HD2.
i know our price that we pay.
and its far more then 400$.
we didnt order 50... we order 700.
so forget about that idea.
Why are people purchasing Nexus ones for $650 on ebay when they could be purchasing it straight from google for $530?
Why are people doing this?
Is it out of sheer idiocracy?
Do they not realize where the sellers are getting these phone?
It's making me want to buy one from Google just to resell on ebay to make a $100 profit!
A fool and their money are easily parted.
Look at this,
it sold for almost $4k. I cannot believe this is real.

some of the bids are fake just to raise the price up to tempt buyers.
Mostly for customers in countries where Google isn't shipping to yet and for others without a credit card.
If you want to risk shipping a phone to Nigeria , go for it.
Be careful, a lot of scams going on especially in Nigeria!

FTFY.
And yes, I think some may be.. but as people said, probably a lot of scams, or people ordering overseas where Google isn't shipping yet...
Google is not shipping it where I live or study (Turkey/Bulgaria), so I bought one from eBay for $599.9 and I am happy with it. I am sure that there is so many "idiots" like me living on mother earth.

according to the description, a lot of 5 (phones) were sold for about $750.00 each, totaling $3.8K. still a fairly steep price to pay.
I got mine for $760AUD ($680USD at the time) shipped via FedEx Express, from an eBay seller - simply because Google weren't accepting orders from Australia. Was happy to pay that much for a phone that wasn't even officially shipping to Aus yet - and I absoluetly love my phone.
Got mine for 599$, i think it's a fair price, since i cant buy it in Albania. I gambled a little with marking the shipment as 99$ so i didnt have to pay taxes.
Remember its not actually $530 from google. Its $530 plus vat and/or duty.
That means a phone to the UK for example would be $530 * 1.175 = $622.
If u then resold that phone to someone in europe u'd only be making about $30 for the trouble, minus shipping, exchange rate, paypal/ebay fees and taking a chance that his payment doesnt get retracted.
Even if you ship it to the US and reship you still need to add sales tax, and more expensive shipping. In actual fact $650 isnt too bad a price at all. Anything more is kinda stupid, especially considering how many peole are doing it now.
Having said that, ff you cant get it shipped to youre country you're better off using something like demailbox.com
They give you a virtual mailbox in the US, and reship it to you. Since they're based in delaware there's no US tax in that state, and free shipping to them because its in the US. That means you only pay the google price + reshipping to your country + the demailbox fee.
It is about $700 on Amazon and the best price being $675. Plus the shipping cost.
Does anyone have better offers?
http://www.amazon.com/HTC-Unlocked-..._1_1?ie=UTF8&s=wireless&qid=1270388078&sr=8-1
I am planning to get these phones for a cheaper price and ship it worldwide, so am taking in everyones opinion.
Why not buy the T9193? It's about the same price, as the T8585, PLUS you can get 3G Speeds, on other networks, like AT&T, with it.
Am not buying them for personal use.
Its for selling at a better price than Amazon and other sites
You'd never be able to expect as much as a retail store would. After all with a retail store there is a comeback for warranty etc.
I think your main thing is going to be beating T-Mobile's price, as this is where many US users are getting their's.
I paid $650 CDN.

If you continue to ignore sending me, either, my unlock code, or a refund, I promise to make, hounding, you, my new "hobby".
You can expect me to, daily, hunt down every post you make and reply, with a link to this thread, to warn others of the folly of wasting money, by sending it to you.
On days you do not post I will look for all unlock related threads, linking to this thread, warning others of your tactics.
The admins may not have a problem with you preying on members here, but I will make, as many members, as possible, aware of your antics.
Choose, for yourself, which way this will go from now on.

I'm not sure how sales tax works in the USA, but with Best Buy do you pay the same sales tax in store and online (for pickup at that store)? The store I am thinking of is EVERETT MA, 162 SANTILLI HWY.
Yes. It'll be the same tax either way

Sales tax is the precise reason (or at least large part) why I decided to purchase my 32GB grey GT10.1 from Amazon and not Best Buy. Well, in full disclosure I decided to take my business to Amazon because I purchased a presale on the GT10.1 from Best Buy and the store GM guarenteed me I would have it on June 17. Low and behold come June 17 at around 7:00p I walked in to pick it up and they said "ooops, sorry but we do not have it yet and no, we have no way of telling when they will arrive." (Okay, I'm done ranting now).
Anyways I decided to go with Amazon because there was no sales tax and they guarenteed I would get it in 1 day with the 1 day shipping option. Sure enough my GT10.1 arrived 1 day later and the beauty of it is, the fastest shipping option from Amazon (1 day) was HALF the price of the sales tax I would have paid at Best Buy. Sales tax would have racked out at $45.43 and the 1 day shipping option from Amazon was $19.
Simple math, simple decision. That and I would MUCH rather give my business to a company that will actually follow through on their promise. Thank you Amazon.

I would rather pay the sales tax which in this case is $37.50 as I have the option of returning it to the store if there is anything wrong with it. The tablet is being brought back to the UK for me next week so I need the quick turn around, rather than having to post it back to Amazon etc.

Yeah, tax is the reason I ordered mine online...of course, I'm sitting here without my Tab right now because I had to return it and get another one.
I just spoke to Best Buy in the USA, and apparently they have international warranty, so their UK branches will cover any devices that go wrong. I wonder if this is actually true...

Hello everyone. I'm about to buy the galaxy tab and was also deciding to pay the Best Buy tax or not. I noticed everyone said they didn't pay tax on Amazon but I am being charged $44. Could this be because I live in NYC? I noticed Newegg doesn't charge tax. Has anyone purchased their tab from them? Thanks
Edit: Nevermind, I just googled Amazon's tax page and NY is subject to tax. Guess I'll buy it in Best Buy.

Err, better read the fine print on that "supposed" international warranty, as there's nowhere it stipulates that you can walk into a bestbuy say in the U.K or BestBuy Canada for example and they'll service it. Doesn't work that way.
The so called international warranty the sales person is salivating to sell you (also known as Geek Squad Black Tie Protection, GSBTP) is a REIMBURSEMENT PLAN, insured by an insurance company. YOU Re responsible for having it repaired at your cost and then contacting a 1-800-number to file a claim. Either mail or fax your paperwork over and you are then REIMBURSED for "qualified" repairs. Accidental or physical damages are not available for "international plans", so even if you're suckered into buying the plan, at least don't let them upsell you on the extra accidental damage protection.
How do I know all this? Used to work there at a store located in a high tourist area and used to weep inside at the foreigners suckered into "international warranties" that were all but useless, even on some products that CAME with worldwide warranties like some Asus laptops, Olympus and Casio cameras and so forth. I still know all the tricks and trade secrets.
Sad really.

I think this should help you decide. This is from Amazon Q&A.
The amount of tax charged depends upon many factors, including the identity of the seller, the type of item purchased, and the destination of the shipment.
Items sold by Amazon.com LLC, or its subsidiaries, and shipped to destinations in the states of Kansas, Kentucky, New York, North Dakota, or Washington are subject to tax.
For sales tax purposes, electronically delivered products (e-books, e-documents, and electronically delivered software) are considered to be shipped to your credit card billing address.
No sales tax is charged when purchasing gift cards; however, purchases paid for with gift cards may be subject to tax.
Let me help you out a bit. If a store/retailer has a physical presence in a state it must charge sales tax so since best buy/ walmart etc have physical stores and shipping facilities in almost every state they have to charge sales tax online and at the store. With this rule online stores like newegg and amazon get away with not charging tax in states other then the ones they operate in. For example amazon has a large shipping and distribution center in Kentucky so it must charge taxes in that state.
Guys, i found these 2 sites selling the unlocked note for good prices, but i am not sure abt these websites, does any1 have any experience ?? please help me

I don't know anything about them but they both have physical locations in nyc for pickup (they're both in the Empire State Building so I wonder if they are affiliated).
That's a pretty good deal. Walk in with cash and you only pay them if it is legit. Might be popping by next time I'm in town.
Problem is i live in charlotte ... have to see if i could get some1 to buy it for me.
It would be gr8 if someone in NY can help me out with this, i can pay for the shipping to charlotte.
both are run by same people and both don't have them in stock. The next shipment they will get is like 30 phones in 3 weeks. I am sure they already have a huge list of orders but it seems, majority will not see a phone in a long time. I have a feeling, no body will get a phone from them. They are fake.
They both show Availability: In stock for me, weird how are you sure they are not in stock?
I called them as well and as live in newyork I told them I would like to visit them for pickup. but they say that dont have the stock now. I have quit my hope of getting gnote from them.
oO.. thanks man.. bogus then. thank goodness did not order.. best will get from handtec
Stay the HELL AWAY from those people!
I to saw the amazing prices BUT after doing some basic research - look around the web, just Google them and you'll find out. I, at first hurried to grrab that price, finally caught them yanking my chain.
If you call and ask questions after a while they don't even bother to pick up the phone - however - if you call from a different phone number they'll immediately answer. Once they recognize your voice they promptly hang up and your left talking to air before you realize you've been had!
Presently the best deal is at L2D2.com. They were somewhere in the neighborhood of $753 or so last time I read a post, which was yesterday. They also sell quite a bit of them - so I'm told - so having them in stock may be an issue. If you can wait it out that seems to be the best deal at the moment. You might want to check at Clove.co.uk too. It's around the same price, they have stock, and you get a cool flip-over case with it for free.
Good luck though and happy hunting!
Oh thanks, but yea regarding the cheap price.. handtec is the cheapest and they are quite reputed too.
I ordered mine from TechnoTradingHouse. It shipped today, free shipping.
$745
I spoke to one of the owners before it shipped. They seem to be trying really hard to build a good reputation (and they already carry a good one). I'd recommend them.

Here a week or so ago when I was looking for resellers in the US and ran across Technotradinghouse selling the Note on eBay I e-mailed them because I wanted to know how the Samsung warranty worked purchased through them and I was basically told that buyers are on their own to get warranty from Samsung and that they don't provide the warranty directly.
So that means if you want to cover your device your stuck paying for a third party insurer claim since the Galaxy Note imports have no US warranty and with the cost of a 2 year claim you could of just ordered from an authorized reseller like Handtec or Expansys-USA and gotten the 2 year Samsung coverage through them at no extra cost.
Handtec is also now only $710 shipped so unless someone can find a reputable US reseller selling the Note for $650 or less I see no point in buying an import from anywhere else if your in the USA.

This is good advice.
I am putting Square Trade on it, $124 for drops, spills, and accidental damage.
People need to evaluate the Samsung warranty + import fees and decide what's best for them.

Yeah the additional accidental damage coverage may be important for some if your prone to accidents. But if your in the US there are no import fees for buying the Note from Handtec.
