In MortPlayer you can coose if your audio file is a book or just music, and if you choose book, than it will save your position automatically. So you can listen to you eBook then listen to some random played music and than (!) just listen to you eBook again from the place you last stopped.
Another scenario: listen to eBook1 -> listen to eBook2 -> listen to eBook1 (from the place you last stopped eBook1) -> listen to eBook2 where you last stopped eBook2 (automatically)

Do you specificaly know anything negative about beta? Did you try it? Because I now switched to it, it looks very good.
Thanks

No... nothing bad noticed ...
I am trying S2P now... the official site recommand to install the OpenGL Version for HD users, but I noticed, that the normal version is much faster then the OpenGL one! => you must install the D3D Driver!
Now I can give S2P a try...
I am using Pocket Player for Music, because of the big Cover images, button mapping abbilitys (even outside the Player) and the build in equalizer

Best mp3 Player software?

Hi guys, I have just installed Pocket Player, which I am happy with, however being an imate Jam owner I of course want the best!
So before I part with my money and purchase one, what would you guys say the best software available is?
Thanks
For me, it's Pocket Player Plus. The Auto Screen Off features saves me lots of battery time and the alarm feature is just as great as well.
This is the one you want:
http://www.pocketmind.com/
http://www.sto-helit.de/freeware/pocketpc/mortplayer/en/index.pl
I don't know..
Had some troubles with my SDcard drooping data and Pocketmusic. Maybe it happened only to me?..
Think WMP is doing the job oki.. miss some customization but its installed default so i think its waste of space not using it.
I second romix's suggestion. I find that mortplayer fits my bill the best, Pocketplayer was sluggish on my O2 mini and WMP couldn't play some of my own mp3s encoded with LAME but okie on the others... :?:
I have found BetaPlayer to be the best. Not very flashy - but very stable and has all teh features you could want. Plays mp3, DivX and ogg among others.

I had the same problems with pocket music, installed on SD. The solution is to disable the today plugin, the you don't get the annoying error message. I guess it has somthing to do with the delay when data is on the SD.
Now it works great... set "turn off display" to 5 sec or whatever you prefere, and lock hardwarebuttons and you are good to go.
the best player ever ist mortplayer

but MortPlayer not supported WMA file format....

Likewise. The free players such as Mortplayer and GSplayer do just as good a job as the commercial ones. Instead of wasting it on eye candy, spend your $20 on another SD card (512MB is only $29) so you can carry more tunes or movies!
GsPlayer is one of the best music player for PPC and it's free...
Try it and you wll love it

I avoid installing POcket Music on the card since I use Pocket Music as an alarm clock. THe delay in detecting the SD card causes this type of malfunction. I like Pocket Music and aside from getting Winamp 2.x skins, it is really good.

Mp3 player with small footprint and a good today plugin?

I'm prepping my phone for a nice long day at jury duty and I'm looking for an MP3 player prog complete with a today plugin so it's easy to control from the today screen. I tried searching but there's so many out there, I wanna know what you guys use. Thanks
I use MortPayer
Conduits Pocket Player is the best IMO, but it's not free.
I use PocketMusic, the basic version of which is free. Very nice player.
However when I was on Jury duty a few years ago, they made me leave my phone at their desk (certainly while I was in the courtroom, can't remember whether in the waiting room too).
Andre
You won't be allowed a phone in court and if you are seen with it you could be in serious trouble.
Oh they let us keep our phones. I guess they feel sorry that they leave us in the waiting room for 5 hours before taking us into the courtroom for another 3 hours. What a waste of a day, and they couldn't get a full jury so I have to go back again tomorrow
I'm surprised I was able to use it almost all day and it only got to 40% with Internet, video, and music. Definitely getting my money's worth with the phone right now.
Thanks guys, i'm trying out mortplayer right now

On my wizard, spb to play doesn't control the media player, but it acts as if it is a standalone player. If I start playing something in WMP, then go to the today screen and press play on the plugin, it starts playing a different song. I can play 2 songs at once, and the plugin just scrolls through all my music, insted of my current now playing, which is annoying, cos I have lots of music on my memory card... :?
just press play from the today screen...dont open windows media player...
thats what i do...

Need a Good MP3 Player!!

I am using HHC and it loads up Windows Media player which is OK...I am not all that concerned about it being part of HHC... I want a MP3 player that can:
1. Enhance the sound of my MP3's...options like an equalizer to enhance the sound output
2. Able to allow me to find and play my MP3's by genre and the option to make playlist
That is really all for now....once I get that I will ask about some good headphones some are using with the Mogul...
So what programs do I need to be testing fam????

Of course S2P is great, I love it - but he was looking for playlist support and equalizer - S2P does not have these options. I would still try it anyways, for the cool factor. I use S2P, WMP, Mort Player, TCPMP and HTC Audio Manager. Each one is good in it's own way with their own features.
I'm using Conduit's Pocket Player 3.7 and it works well (it's not a free program but upgraded versions are). It's got the eq controls, bluetooth headset control functions, playlists, search by genre etc.
Hope that helps.
GSPlayer fits all my needs, has the built in EQ and WOW type effects. Freeware and skinnable.

That's the same problem I'm facing. I guess this panel isn't for me.
one thing i noticed about on the road is you can only play music from one folder :S
i got a different folder for each artist though - any way around?
It reads playlist.
Make some playlist and you can play music easly.
It's got some nice graphics, and links to GMaps/Wayfinder, but don't know about you guys, it wasn't that much use for me.
10 points to SE/developer for creating it though, hope there's more panels in the future.
i use my x1 everytime i get into the car for playing internet radio through 3G or just listening to MP3s through the stereo.. so the on-the-road panel is really useful to me. it would be nice if they could have integrated it with Tomtom instead of GoogleMaps.
i click on Navigation - nothing happens...
Which Playlists ?

I have created a WMP playlist (that HTC Audio Player can see as well) but the On The Road player can not.
I would like to use the player, but if it can't access sub folders and won't read a WMP playlist what use is it ?
how to make default navigator GARMIN?
i press "def nav" - nothing happens
On the Road only looks for Google maps and Wayfinder that are installed to the DEVICE, not to the storage card.
That explains why when you click you get nothing.
Perhaps you could trick On the Road by renaming the Tomtom folder and executable to "wayfinder," but that would probably mess something else up.
thnx, i try to use hexeditor... )

How to play music with screen off!?!?!

I know Windows Media Player has a Toggle Screen Off option, but it's difficult to assign a button to it when the SIP keeps disappearing when it asks you for the key you want to assign
Anyone know how to play music with the screen off?
Thanks
Try MortPlayer
Hallo,
Try the MortPlayer http://sto-helit.de/
I use this player since i have a win-mobile-phone. I use it with a bluetooth headset (headphone). The only thing you must do ist installing a little tool to remap the headset-buttons. If you do not, the headset-buttons will start the media-player or use the htc-manila-player.

My Windows 6.5 Stock rom turns the screen off automatically when listening to music, and doesn't stop it. (It used to in 6.5) - I can't turn the screen off myself or it does stop the music.
Dutty's ROMs get this right. very stable, very fast,
Nitrogen is a very good finger friendly audio player, that works also with the display swiched off
Umm, i dont have this phone yet so can somebody help.
Can't we play music with the screen off/sleep mode (from TouchFlo3D's music player/tab)???
This topic is misleading v___v

yes, you can. at least in MOST ROMs. some chefs didnt get this right (Dutty's older ROMs for example would by default use the Windows Media Player and would have problems with playing music while the screen was off.)
However, i am using Dutty's HG R1 and i can play music (and skip tracks, change volume, etc) while in sleep mode.
i hope that's clear enough?
I'm gonna have to bump this topic back.
I'm using Dutty's holy grail r6 rom and everytime i click the power to sleep while music is playing from HTC's music player, it stops.
How do i fix this?
I use the same Rom and the HTC player. If i push the start button on top of the phone, the music stops, but if you let the phone go to sleep by it self, then the music continue after the screen is off.
