Hi there,
Ive got an orange version of this phone at work i'll be doing some work on in the next couple of weeks, but it has been totally brutalised by some mercury software. It's software that relays gps information to a server via gprs and links into tomtom.
The software removed all the program shortcuts and control panel icons.
I'm wondering if there is a way to restore the control panel icons. I did the program icons by copying the shortcuts from my universal.
Thanks!
Is it possible get that more those standard today screen as panel?
Cos I would like to have FEWidgets & iFronz etc. as panels and still have that normal today screen.
Any ideas?
That is a nice idea...!
2 today screens
The closest iv seen to solving this is to use a program called mtoday, see thread - Best Apps for the x1.
You can create 2 today screens with different plugins, run program, set profile 1 and save, then create shortcut, do the same for profile 2. In the programs menu you then find links to launch your 2 today screens. I have pocket plus 4 and touch 3d. Why use panel spaces switching this way is easier and faster.
Posted from my X1
Hi,
I think axjiii is searching a programme or a option to create a panel for a specific programme, for expamle a panel which launches iFonz or other programmes. I was also looking for such an programme with which I could create several panels for i.e. skype, TV, iFonz, etc.
BTW, is iFonz working on the X1? As I'm still waiting for my X1 I couldn't test it yet.
Well, maybe the TF3D panel launcher could be tweaked to launch FEWidgets and iFonz.
No iFonz panel as at yet, right?

Maybe you should try downloading the SDK panel editing package from Sony and dissect the "TF3D as a panel" cab: it just "runs" TF3D
There's also a "youtube" panel but it makes the same simple thing: when pressed, it runs the youtube app and turns "today" screen to blank
You could try to build a panel that runs your desired app
I'd also love such a feature. I have got the panels installed already (not using them though) and to me they very much seem to be something like multiple today screens. It would be nice to just keep the existing panels and the normal today screen and to be able to define another panel (or many more) for which you can define a different today screen with different plugins etc.
What would be very important from my perspective is the impact on resources, both memory and CPU. It would be good not having all today plugins running at all time, even when they are not visible, because many today plugins affect performance a lot from what I experienced. Also the time when switching the home screen via the panels shouldn't take too long, so, initializing the today plugins completely whenever switching today screens/panels would take too long in my point of view. Still, today plugins which run in the background need to get specific messages, e.g. GPRS monitor for still counting the data.
What I would love to have with such a solution would be to be able to switch panels/today screens by switching profiles, i.e. switching panels via commandline.

Looks quite simple for everyone who has Microsoft Visual Studio.
Unfortunately I don’t have MSVS, but I someone create a panel that simply call some app stored in registry (or panel1 for app1, panel2 for app2 and so on), it will be great! In combination with mToday or SecondToday it will allow for anyone to have multiple Today Screens.
I’m personally prefer to have on main Today Screen SPB Dairy and SPB Phone Suite (organiser) while on second Today a lot of shortcuts to useful apps and tools (pocket pc).
Hey fellow SEX1 users!
Just posting a quick note in our forum here to let you know that I've updated my WVGA VistAdvance Wisbar theme in the Development and Hacking forum. Hopefully you'll take advantage of this if you missed it the first time, and if you already installed v1.0, please update to this version, as I've fixed a few bugs and added AppToDate support.
Oh, and please comment in that main Dev + Hacking thread so everything stays organized.
Hope you like!
very nice... Do you have to disable pocket plus in today to run this theme..WA3
scar45, that looks awesome. Seeing that you have an xperia, does it slow down your phone when you use it? Also, what version of wishbar do you have to have? And third, would you have to uninstall spb shell tob use it?
Looks good. Unfortunately I realized that Wisbar Advance and Wisbar Advance Desktop somehow doesn't work too well with TF3D (or maybe just TF3D as a panel) so uninstalled it.
I cannot get this work with the X1
I have installed but cannot find out how to apply it or use it.
anyone have any ideas??
same here, intalled the VistAdvance but couldnt find it anywhere
Cool Theme, i have to do a question....
1) This theme run good with TouchFlo Manila Full Cab on X1? I like it and i will want to continue to use it... is possibile use this in another panel?
For people that say you cant find it. You need to have wishbar advance desktop or wishbar advance install in your phone first. What you are downloading from scar45 post is just a theme for it. I've been using it and it's great, works with panels and tfl3d.

Hi randy_c,
You should be able to use it as a panel for sure. Wisbar Advance Desktop v2+ now has an option to "detach from the today screen". If you select this, then WAD2 will be running on it's own, like a standalone application.
Therefore, if you are able to config a panel XML to load WAD2, you should be able to use it as a dedicated panel.
If anyone does try this and notices that it works, please let me know and I'll fully integrate it into my theme. I'll create lovely Panel graphics, and it will be easy to update if you're running v1.1.

Love to...but not very good at creating XML to load WAD2...Anyone know how please......
does it have Gesture support?
like sweeping finger across from right to left changes the screen?
I just don't know why this didn't work on my Xperia: i've installed WisBar 2.1.1.1 and then VistAdvance...so i've done a soft reset and then, on the Today panel (the principal one) i see only a black screen, waiting for something...nothing more.
So i've uninstalled VistAdvance...soft reset...and after a while WisBar comes with a default theme...REALLY SLOW!!!
But i didn't managed to let VistAdvance to work...
I installed it yesterday and found that:
When I loaded the theme using WAD2 i would get the theme but the windows taskbar (start menu) remained the same as was not customized to the vista look of the theme.
When I loaded the theme using WA3 I found that start menu was changed however the theme background, menus were not loaded.
I was getting gwes.exe errors and DesktopAdvance.exe crashed as well. I used it with WAD2 for a couple of hours, as that actually showed the menus and must say I really like it a lot! Nice and smooth - good customization.
One other thing I found was that after installing the theme my connections were screwed. I couldnt always connect to my phone network, trying to turn on data connection resulted in the phone crashing as it hung on the comm manager page and Opera browser wouldnt let me use BBC iPlayer (Streaming media was coming up with a 'failed to load' error) whereas after removing WAD,WA and the theme it worked perfectly.
I am not sure how much it is related to my handset or the theme but something wasn't happy.
Did you disable task manager? I still think someone should develop a panel for this beautiful software WAD & WA

Find that both Wisbar Advance and Wisbar Advance Desktop don't really work well with TF3D. If I start an app while in TF3D, after exiting the app, I'll end up in Wisbar Advance Desktop rather than back in TF3D. And for Wisbar Advance, had some issues with it but can't exactly remember right now (cos had uninstalled it already).
i see alot of new themes that i like, including yours.
Now i have been looking to buy this app.
what is the difference betweent WA and WAD ?
What why would i need WAD?
Sorry for the off topic.
WA - WizBar Advance 3, skins the tool bar and start menu of the device,
WAD - WizBar Advance Desktop 2, skins the today screen.
I tried using them both, and while they look really nice and do improve functionality, there were a few problems.
1. I couldnt get the Panels to work nicely with WA; the phone just freezes for 5 secs when you press the X Panel button.
2. There seemed to be a few bugs in WAD, with parts of the pages disappearing, and others appearing from other pages, which got really annoying.
3. It also seemed to slow down the phone a fair bit, which I could have got used to.
I did enjoy the customizability of the interface, definitely a bonus compared to SPB, but I couldn't ignore the problems it brought.

Thanks for the reply.
So if i want to use this skin
i need WAD?
And i have a custom rom without the panels.
i guess that i would not have any issues because i dont have any panels?
Yeah you have to download and install WizBar Advance Desktop 2 to use the main theme, and WizBar Advance 3 to use the start menu skin.
Hopefully you can get it working better than I did!
Has anyone managed to tweak some coding to create an application that allows the Facebook panel to be loaded from the Programs menu opposed to using the panels....(Like Pubba's Panel Installer for MXE and Radio)
If Pubba can port to panels as applications,
And if TF3D can be run as a panel rather than a 'Today' option....
Surely it must be possible? Or does the fact it use internet and such make it a bit complicated?
Anyone?
I would try and edit the Pubba launcher panels, but I have absolutely no coding experience...
that would be nice
It would, I like the panels, the problem is you can't really multitask with them, the idea that you can change your today screen is awesome but I'd rather have Facebook as an application that can be launched rather than change my entire screen.
As I said earlier, if pubba can launch the media panels, is it possible to edit his code to launch the Facebook panel instead? I have no idea how to code or even which program was used to code this...
Surely, it can't be such a big job?
Come on, can I atleast get a decent reply?
