Has anyone been able to turn off the mobile view in any browser? I have tried Opra and Dolphin disabling the mobile view in both and it still brings them up. In the stock browser there is no option to turn mobile view off.
I got it to work using dolphin by clearing cache, data, cookies, and history in both stock and dolphin browser. The opened dolphin browser and hit menu>settings>user agent then just selected desktop. I think the key was clearing everything first.
it simply does not work on any of the browsers. Even if you clear all cache and cookies.
I have tried BBC iPlayer and The Sun in the UK. You can get the full homepage if you clear all data but as soon as you click a story or link you are taken back to the mobile site.
This is an absolute JOKE! I bought this to do full websites. Even my HTC Desire 2.2 views full sites. Obviously Samsung have messed around with the browser so much that they have screwed it up. Fancy selling a tablet that can only view mobile sites!
Oh I forgot to add...you can type about:useragent in to the browser and switch to desktop but it makes no difference at all.
Hi mate,
I had this issue until I flashed a different FW..
As soon as I flashed an tested this out it works no more mobile sites for me.
All you need to do is flash FW JK1
Make sure you back your data up.
I've read some guides but they seem to suggest removing battery. Is there any easier way of doing this? I'm not prepared to open it. If I don't get full sites working soon, then I'm just taking mine back. Don't see the point in having it as my Desire does a better job at the moment.
As I said Gareth you dont need to open it..
Just re-flash it

I have been playing around for awhile now and it hasn't shown a mobile view since clearing everything out. I haven't checked the sites your referring to but on espn and cbs sports are all the full versions even after clicking on stories.

Ah ok. Do you know of any links/tutorials for me to do this. I searched on here earlier but the one i found suggested taking the tab apart, so maybe I was looking at the wrong info.
Yes - Here is the link to everything you need. Theres also a tutorial of how to flash using Odin at the bottom of the page (This is what I used)
You will need to register to gain access to this part of the site.
http://www.samfirmware.com/WEBPROTECT-p1000.htm
First thing you will need to do is download a few things from the page.
We need -
P1000XWJK1 ## P1.PIT Version 2.2 2010 November (Located in the Europe section at the bottom)
Then scroll to the bottom of the page and look for -
NEW Odin: DOWNLOAD Version 1.7
Once you have all the files in a folder on your desktop. Open up the Odin folder and extract and you will see 2 files Odin and a PIT file.
Open up Odin and look to the right load up the PIT file that was included in the folder.
You then need to extract the .tar file from P1000XWJK1 that you downloaded. Once you have extracted it go back to Odin and load the .tar file in to the PDA section an tick the box.
Now that were ready to flash you must prepare the tab -
You will need to take both sim card and SD card out before we do this.
Once both have been removed turn the device off. Now power back on holding Volume down + home key.
You should now be in download mode - This is a black and yellow screen with an Android bot stood in a triangle digging. Once you are at this stage you are ready to flash.
Double check that the only options checked are -
Auto Reboot
F. Reset Time
PDA
Once you are happy hit the start button. You should now see Odin doing its thing and also the tab will show a progress bar. Once flashed you can check if the flash was successful by checking with *#1234#
As always
Remember to back up anything important that is stored on the phones memory as this may be lost during the flashing process.
Hope this helps
thanks mklass.
I followed your instructions and everthing is now working fine. I had to switch the useragent to Desktop but it now stays in Desktop mode and I'm able to view things like the full BBC iPlayer.
Thanks again.
I have been able to to view all pages in mobile and "full web experience" using dolphine, skyfire, default and opera mobile. Some times i have to diable mobile view on a per-site basis (like wikipedia). But aslong as i have cookies on they keep loading normaly.
Ps: the speed of opera is just mindblowing to me!

You may not see any advantage now, however, as more and more developers get a hold of this device they will start launching custom ROM's that speed up and improve the performance plus add more features to the device like we've seen on the Galaxy S devices.
Glad I could help you guys out.
As for the reason for flashing -
Quite a few people including myself were unable to view 'full' websites and kept be re-directed to the mobile version of the site. Even when the UA String is set to desktop mode in any browser the Tab would still still load up the mobile site. I heard that some people had this issue and others didn't.
I'd say that unless you have this issue there's not really any need to flash just yet.
ah i see.. ty for the answers guys
opera Mini right?

No, opera mobile. It was released less than a month ago. I recomend it strongly! You can find it in the marketplace.
The only thing it is missing is the google search integration wich gives "the google instant" experience.
If i need to view flash videos outside of youtube i use skyfire since it has a optimizing feature for flash videos. Rest of the time i use operamobile. It makes the browsing, scrolling, zooming and loading comparable to the ipad, if not bether.
I used to browse on a n900. Compared to this device with opera, what a joke the n900 is.
So if anybody is worried abot slugish browser on the tab (wich is true for the default browser); know that opera mobile more than fixes that problem.

what about flash support (to view games/flv videos directly from browser) for hd2/manilla/winmo??
i read somewhere that internet explorer have flash support but i can't get it to work.. when i visit youtube from IE browser i got error (something like "corrupted libraries of flash lite blah-blah-blah)...
about opera, i read that someone from this forum wrote flashfix for opera, or something like that...
any good idea/tip in that way.... how to force/add (working) flash support (latest features flash9/10 and/or actionscript3...)... to our HD2's
thanx anyway
IE does have flash support. You phone should have a YouTube App installed, unless the operator has removed it.
For a quick search on here I fould this * LEO YouTube_2_6_19224122.cab *
i use artemis cooked rom, very popular here (maybe the best, imho)
i have installed youtube app, atleast, i can choose youtube separately from windows tab - then slide up/down through applications
it's this application or what?
Youtube software with no problem, but how do I see a video of megaideo? or youporn (do not want to lie hahahaha)?
Where's the flash?

Anyway to get hulu working with the current flash player on the market? I used to have 10.3 and libflash file and that worked great but I lost that somehow.
Hello, I know somebody knows what to do. The first time I did it I got everything from here. If I remember correctly:
Install flash 10.3
Extract libflashplayer
Copy libflash
Paste over com.adobe flash player
Done.
If this rings a bell jump in help me out, thanks.

I think the CM10 Jellybean rom 4.1.2. is stable enough for daily use. Packed with A1 Kernel 1.7.4b build pushes the tab's performance more, due to the GPU overclocking . The issue i found so far is that the MTP does not work, even when the MTP setting is clicked, updating the drivers, uninstalling the device from device manager, and installing again. When re-flahsed using the default CM10 4.1.2 Beta4, MTP is working fine again.
Anyone has any fix for this ?

Hi There, thank you for your time in replying. Appreciate that. I did check the control panel , printers sounds setting, but all i can see is the Samsung Android Device (modem) nothing else. There are no undefined hardware in my control panel.
I do transfer right now file to and from my 10.1 through Wifi Explorer Pro. A bit slow, but it works.
Probably, i will flash a CM10 kernel, or revert back to the CM10 Beta 4 and wait for A1 Kernel probably to notice this issue.

Issue with Play Store - Jelly Bean ROM
Hi
First off, I flashed my GTP7500 Galaxy Tab 10.1 with the new JB ROM after having had issues with getting applications to update/download from Play Store. I tried everything before flashing, from deleting and re-adding my back-up account, to flushing the app cache and downgrading the Play Store app to an earlier version. Nothing worked. Then when I flashed the new JB ROM, I accidently used the WiFi-only version. Everything worked fine, I just didn't have 3G. So I went back to the drawing board and flashed the correct version, using TWRP's version. Now, I am back to square one with Play Store not downloading/updating any apps. The progress bar just scrolls, and then eventually times out. My only question is, why would it work without any hassles in the Wifi-ONLY version, but not in both the official release of ICS and un-official JB? Could someone please help me with this, as I have absolutely no more answers left
Thanx
Gallery issue
I have an issue, the gallery cant detect pics that were moved using root explorer.
So this is what happened:
1. downloaded some images via browser (all downloaded images are in download folder in root)
2. grouped all of them in a folder via root explorer (all downloaded images are in download/foldername
3. opened the gallery, it cannot find that folder, and shows a album called "download" with the pictures except they are all blank(black icons).
Can anyone verify this and if anyone has a fix for this pls tell me thx.
I wanted to use multilive wallpaper so i need downloaded pics grouped for separate homescreens... not using gallery will cause slow downs...
polaris office does not work
y doesnt polaris office work on this rom?
This is my first how to guide (trying to give a little back to the community). Hope it's useful, or at least used as a reference.
Having recently upgraded my two trusty SGS i9100 phones (Nexus FTW!), I wondered what I could now do with them. I have an old(ish) 720p LCD TV, and wanted to make it smart (that is, have it connect to my media server, connect to BBC iPlayer, YouTube, CatchupTV, etc), but didn't want to connect a computer or buy another media player. I know that the i9100 is more than capable to do all this, and stream at 720p, however, you also need a stock ROM (which is bloated and ugly, IMO ) or a ROM that is based on stock, but heavily skinned and lighter.
Here are the steps and links that followed to achieve this.
Assuming that you have a complety STOCK handset:
1) Root your i9100 (adb required)
2) Install ClockWorkMod Recovery (Odin required)
3) Install Chameleon Rom
(It took me about 30 minutes. If you already have a custom recovery, you can just install the Chameleon Rom.)
4) You also need a MHL adaptor
Once the ROM has installed, I set up the ROM, and installed the following apps:
a) Diceplayer - allows me to play MKV files directly from my server (no need for the server to transcode the file)
b) TVCatchup
c) BBC iPlayer
d) ITV Player
e) 4oD
f) Demand5
g) Orbot - might be useful for international channels, but I have zero experience, so don't ask any questions here.
That's it. Using the mobile, I can now watch my media, iPlayer, and almost-live broadcasts all via my phone on my TV. Although, it is a hassle changing the channels...
Interested to know if this is the best way to use an i9100 as a media steamer/player, and if not, what suggestions are recommended.
Update Feb 2nd 2014 - XBMC installed
So, I wanted more... And, I was curious about how XBMC would work on the i9100 and what other channels I could access
1) on your mobile, visit http://xbmc.org/download/ - download and install the latest version of XBMC (I used xbmc-12.3-Frodo-armeabi-v7a.apk)
2) run xbmc at least once, and allow it to set itself up
3) on your mobile, visit http://code.google.com/p/navi-x/downloads/list and click on the latest version of Navi-X to download the zip file (I used Navi-X-v37_8.zip) - make sure you know where the zip is located on your mobile device
4) run XBMC and click on System > Addons > Install from Zip file. Select the location on your mobile where you saved Navi-X and select the zip file
5) exit to the main screen of XBMC and check out "Programs"... Navi-X should be installed there. Make sure you always use the latest version of Navi-X and the latest "stable" version of XBMC
(To update Navi-X, simply grab the latest copy on http://code.google.com/p/navi-x/downloads/list)
This is working very well for me, and has added a new dimension to what I can now do with my old i9100
If this all remains stable, I may just start looking into adding video gaming apps as well...

Another good player is MX Player
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.mxtech.videoplayer.ad&hl=en_GB
Fine!
Do you know if there is any way to connect USB OTG together with MHL... I would like to watch videos from an external (powered) USB HD
Z
Hmm.. no, I don't know how you would do that... you're suggesting a "daisy chain"? Phone > OTG Drive > MHL > Power
At the minute, I stream from my server, or transfer the media onto the phone. Hope you find a solution, and please share it here.
Does anyone know if there is a way/app to control one of my i9100 using my N5 or N7?
I haven't seen anything, but thought I'd ask.
I would like to something like a "remote desktop", but using an Android device to control a second Android device.
Here are a couple of apps that I will be testing:
DroidMote
Tablet Remote
VMLite VNC Server
