Hi
Just read a review of the experia x1, which said that the touchflo3d was transferable to the X1 as a panel in the xpanel UI
Just wandering if this could be reversed, so have the XPanel software on the Diamond with TF3d as the default panel?
Cheers
Because HD and X1 share the same resolution (WVGA - 800x480), the TF3D off of HD was ported to X1, and the Panels from X1 are partly working on HD.
Since HD TF3D has been ported to our Diamonds, I don't see why an effort shouldn't be made for the Panels to be ported too, but as yet there's no development AFAIK.

Could you please indicate a thread or link from where it can be downloaded? I mean the HD TF3D ported to Diamond...
Many thanks
3rd thread. Its sticky

Thanks...Stupid me. I should have search before asking. I knew the thread just never look into it.
We'll have it soon
If you check out this thread on Touch HD, they are nearly there. Once they have it on the HD it won't be too long till it ported to our device

Cheers for the info guys! Would be great to try this out and see if it's all that it's cracked up to be!
you guys should check out Task Facade while we wait for the X1 panels to be developed for the Pro/Diamond. Its pretty useful for my everyday usage. Just google it and you should be able to find it.

Ok guys i've been watching youtube videos for the HTC touch Diamond and the interface for that phone looks MUCH more promising than the interface of my HTC touch cruise... don't get me wrong I love my phone but for 720 bucks I think I could have gotten something more worth while..... Do you guys think it's possible to use the HTC Touch Diamond interface on the touch cruise??
I suggest you look at the current "Diamond" ROMS that are available that have been ported for the Polaris in this forum. obviously the HTC Diamond does have a faster Graphics chipset so you cannot compare speed tests.
The Diamond roms are, imo, not the Diamond interface which the topicstarter looks for. It just has an Diamond skin on WM6.1.
if anyone has an original Diamond ROM ported for the Polaris, i would certainly donate to that guy/woman....
What desiroxta is probably looking for is the tflo 3d... is not the only one wanting it. So far there is only the vga version. Polaris is qvga. So we will have to wait.
Not just wait for the qVGA resources but graphics acceleration as well as it relies on it. There are Manila (its codename) builds around, even qVGA ones and I think I'm safe to say, they dont work. 0.5-2fps isnt exactly what I'd describe as "working" in my vocabulary.

nope, thats what ppl try to tell you..
some applications can be used, but interface, as you describe it, is not working.
its the main OS from MS that is ported, not the diamond interface
Friends,
I've looked through hundreds of pages and can't find much that notes it is VGA compatible. Can any of you post links to shells that work with VGA? I'd love a WM7 or Diamond theme, or anything dark and attractive. A simple one with calendar and no tabs for lots of room.
Anyone?
There is less people use VGA device rite now thats why skin for VGA is only a little I just can find VGA skin at http://mobileshell.ppc-theme.com
Please if anyone have the info where I can find VGA skin for mobileshell , please share also thanks
I'm having no luck at all...

You are very positive. I am not.
Athena is about a year on the market. Universal, I guess about 2 years. Bouth support VGA. Didn't help.
Er.. you could try to edit your own theme. I own a I780 but in RealVGA mode at 96 dpi, all the layouts are messed. I did a lot of editing and came up with the basic theme running at 96dpi mode. I had also done a Diamond theme and did some modification work as well.
You could try to do it.

But HTC Touch Diamond is different you can see if anyone made a thread about "Touch Diamond" the views will be thousands so its different..hope this Diamond will really made all VGA users becomes diamond hehe
If I had a VGA Device to test with, I would support it on my themes, but unfortunately I only have qvga devices.
A friend is going to loan me his 240x240 for a couple days so I can port to that though.
need VGA
I for one very much miss VGA. I had a Dell x50v back in the day and the screen was AWESOME!
I WILL be getting the Diamond Pro (with keyboard) when it comes out in the US.

From what (little...) I understand Your main question is if Mobile Shell is VGA compatible and not about themes.
Yes, it is. I've been running it smoothly on my Eten X500+ for months now together with SPB Weather, Time and Diary. It is IMO fast and reliable and lacks almost nothing I want from a shell. I will try iContact again when someone makes it truly VGA-compatible (larger icons, buttons and text) but Mobile Shells contacts is also quick and easy to use.
Just FYI

I know everyone's been working really hard on the HTC Diamond interface to get it qvga, I was wondering if anyone's interested in trying to get the xperia's panel interface into QVGA.
Tried it...
The aspect ratio really screws things up...
(might work on the omnia better, but I don't have one to test it on, and it needs lots of little tweaks to get it to work...)
can you share the application? even for VGA i am getting an HTC Touch Diamond and i'd really like to have this feature if it can be used on it?
the dpi is 192, omnia uses 92...if someone just guide me, how to manage the OEM files, i can make a ROM for Omnia...well it is posssible to make a custom ROM for Omnia
that would be awesome.
tf3d is getting on the overrated side
guys just search for Dynamo v2.0

The source code is also available here, if someone wants to take a crack at updating it:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=417214
I currently only have a pre release build from a pre-release ROM.
The DPI is fixed, as in, there are no image DLLs, and the dimensions are fixed in the applications.
It won't work on a Diamond, as the ratio is all wrong (the "W" in WVGA does - surprisingly - stand for something).
w means wvga.
wvga was 800 by 400 px while vga has 600 by 400
youre gonna have a tough time but its not impossible.
try narrowing the panels

Umm... Do you want to try narrowing the panels?
I know it's difficult, and that is why I have yet to post anything!
W means "Wide", hence the Omnia has WQVGA, or wide QVGA. Also, WVGA is 800x480, VGA is 640x480.
If we find any skins that work on the xperia for spb shell, should we post it on this thread to keep track of them?
I think a thread in the X1 forum may be a better place...

I shall upload them tomorrow.
The biggest difficulty so far is that the today plugin aspect of panels dislikes QVGA...
well works come along way on the diamond interface, and the omnia interface which is wqva is coming along way too. So maybe we could get this going. Can someone post the cab or files and we'll see what we can do.
Updates
Hey folks,
was jus wondering if there was any updates on the panels.
Btw, Omnia or X1???
No updates as of yet.
The Omnia/X1 are completely different devices, with completely different aims. If you need a keyboard, get the X1, if you don't get the Omnia!

lol its not usable. Freezes, sluggishness. Its nice to play with but comon people, its not for day to day use.
Not to mention those themes are incompatible. VGA themes for a a QVGA Touchflo..hmm...
Another month and you should see some themes and a decent Touchflo3D
EDIT: The clock for Manila 2D is here

Why would it be slow though? Doesnt the xperia have the same hardware as the Diamond?
Maybe the graphics drivers arent fully utilized!!
Can anyone try using the drivers from the Diamond in the Xperia? .. maybe the performance will increase.
Maybe it would even make the panels react faster!
thats weird since the hardware in the xperia is better then both the raphael and diamond. So the xperia should run touchflo 3d with ease.
do you mean that xperia doesn't have at all 3d drivers like touch dual?!?!
I hope that drivers could be ported from touchHD...
if that were true how would the x1 be able to even run the panels. sorry if i offend anybody but cut out the crap talk x1 can handle the touchflo 3d with ease if ported right.
the original poster was asking about throttle launcher not tf3d.
tl runs fine in realvga on my athena, so the hardware of the xperia should cope easily, but theres no settings for wvga as of yet, the author has promised a wqvga version soon which will scale up, but you can also do the xml yourself
thanks for the answer but maybe its better to wait for the touch hd and rip that touchflo since its the same size?
