hi there,
i am searching for a car kit, but did not find any at htc's and do not really want to get one of those big generic ones... anyone got an idea?
Hi
Brodit are probably the best for car kits, I have one and works well (once you can find somewhere to place in car). Not cheap, but then cheap is generic. You buy the components to make a unit i.e. holder, passive or active mount etc.

Many resellers and also find some on ebay.

Hi,
Where to buy this original car kit ? Moreover if there is an original car kit, I guess there are several other car kits with probably differents costs or/and features? Where should I go to buy these kind of kits (first of all look at some description)?
Thanks in advance for your help.

G.
Anyone have an answer??
Hi,
Which one do you recommend?
I am looking for a good passive car holder for the touch dual.
You know, the one that can solidly hold the device
Thanks.
the section "niki accessories" looks like for your request... see http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=352063

Ok so short story is that we've written off our old 1994 Honda Civic which I had a Brodit active car kit and mount for. So im looking at buying a new (used) car and one that has caught my eye is a 2001 Ford Puma.
Ok so this might sound sad but one of the things i've been checking is if I can get another proclip mount for that model of car (it says something when the choice of car is dictated by my kaiser) but unfortunately according to the proclip website they don't make one for that model of car.
So im just wondering what my options are?
I dislike suction goosenecks as they are in my field of vision and as I want to charge the Kaiser as I go (because of using the GPS) I don't want a cable trailing up to the windscreen.
Anyone got any ideas (apart from some blue tack on the dashboard
What website did you look on? I looked on DSL Developments (where I get my Brodit kit from ) and they've got one for a 2001 Puma (R.H. Drive) - check out http://www.dsldevelopments.com/sitegfx/Brodit_Images/652293-4.jpg
HTH,
Mark.
Proclipusa I looked on, i'll check that link you gave now.
Edit: excellent, plus exactly where I would want it to go (was looking for one for a hyundai coupe as well as that was another choice of car but it was way down near the gear stick)
I recently got the Xtrons TE706PL in my car, however I didn't build in the GPS unit yet.
This is because I already have a Pioneer GPS Antenna installed (JVC Headunit), however this is using the Pioneer AVIC connector. Does anyone know if it's possible to convert the Pioneer AVIC to the Fakra connector? This safes me a lot of trouble
Impossible?

That's was one of adapters i found in 2 seconds google search, with little time for sure you can find a solution that suit you; they cost little money so you can buy and test by yourself.
Have a nice day!

But ofcourse I've been Googling, I'm not an idiot However, this is the wrong way around, I need AVIC to FAKRA, which I'm unable to find.

If you not find something usefull you can always buy a small piece of 50 ohms coaxial cable, 1 fakra and 1 avic connector and crimp together, maybe the cheap solution
Hi guys,
I'm faily use to tweak android phone thank's to this great forum, but totally new in cars head unit word.
I think I do not need it to have an embeded android software, and I can live it if only has android auto (unless you convince me differently)
I'll mostly use to for navigation, listening music and navigation.
Do you guys have any recommendation to get a rather cheap head unit that fit in a 1 din slot with not so much space below and on the sides ?
(I'm ok with common brand found in europe and aliexpress ones as long as it is practical to use)
Are retractable one good option ?
Here are two pictures of the design of the inside of the car where the radio goes : Case 1 and Case two
Thanks in advance for your suggestions
