How can I extract WM5 Icons?

hello there,
first Merry Christmas EVeryone, wish you good year full of health and wealth,
i am looking for that animated "busy" icon in WM5 operating system,
it will appeare when the OS is busy
i have captured it but i need animated one, in "gif" format

I don't think that particular icon is encoded as a gif.
You can try dumping the rom, and then extracting all icons from the ROM. I've done it at home but can't remember which dll that resource is in.

What did you use to extract it? Use any resource editor...
I can try and dump the bitmaps but they're a bit of a pain, quite a few of them (ie each frame). Send me a PM if you have no luck.

I Suggest to use the reshacker. its free not like the other.. its also easy to use..

It would be really neat to be able to customize one of your own, and possibly include it in your .tsk files....
Heck, if you wanted to, you could even replace it with one of those boring hour-glasses....
Of course, adding the resource back to the OS might be problematic, but it sure would be a neat customization....

Actually there was a site mentioned here that lets you do just that - customize the wait cursor. VJ, do you remember it by chance?
Any way you can't add it to TSK, the format won't support this, but you can always create your own MUI (built in resource replacement mechanism).
The only problem is, in WM 5 it needs to be digitally signed. It's possible but a bit of a hassle.

But yes, it is WM2003 and earlier only. As stated, you'd have to digitally sign your .mui customisation to make it work, which is certainly not impossible. Have a look for the signing app made by BeyondTheTech on this forum. If you have Visual Studio 2005 you can make your own test certificate to sign your stuff.

I was getting tired of the default skin for HTC Audio Manager so I came up with this one.
Suggestions? Comments?

Instructions:
1) unzip the file
2) copy all the file anywhere besides \windows
3) use Total commander to move all the files inside \windows
4) overwrite the files
5) you're done!

i didn't know htc audio was skinnable. now if someone could add albumart support...
Guys, give OP a break...let him get his original skin uploaded before any requests. I'll take that skin in ANY font color over default HTC gray.

one more suggestion, white glow and fonts, and a lil more glassy buttons will be perfect

Exactly it would be nicer in black and white but it's very nike like that!

Do you know if its possible to make the scrollbar larger?
Its so hard to scroll in audiomanager...i end up using the wheel.

They're not supposed to be in cab files. Do you have pocketcm on your phone?

i know but there was a pocketcm wm7 skin that was posted and it was posted in cab form...
but anyway - i just have to drop the folder in the subdirectory right ??

Great job on this skin!!!! Only one request. Can you make the SMS threaded? I tried to use it but I only see my side of the conversations, not what the replies were....

I have been searching all over, first I love this skin, but I was wondering what settings would need to be changed for the alphabet index response area to be bigger and be able to use the selection and scrolling from the left side of the screen? I don't need the actual bar moved just the ability of use on the left hand side. I'm left handed and in order to scroll I have to dig into the right side of the screen so much my hand covers the letter label. any help would be appreciated.

Great skin, thank you. I have been playing with his and i have one comment on this skin. Sometimes some of my contact disappear. When i restart PCMContacts they are back. And that goes on and on. Not the same contacts but it differs. Any thought on this?

Install
1. download and extract the theme, copy the Font to Windows\Font
2. copy the theme to Program Files\XiAMultiTheme\themes
3. open XIAMultiThemeConfiguration.exe
at "Today" tag --XIAMultitheme select the new theme and then click the button "Apply these themes" and close the application
then at the "Install" tag -- click the button "Install Today Plugin"
4. go to Setting-Personal-Today at the Items tag ONLY select the XIAMultiTheme
Install S2P theme
copy and replace the files in Program Files\S2P\gfx
enjoy
weather: you need to input your location code (check in http://weather.yahoo.com), connect to your network, click on the weather area to update the status, if you want to change the location, click and hold the weather area, it will ask you to input the new location code
music: simply click the play button to launch the S2P
programs: click the circle (battery status) beside the clock to launch the programs page,
if you want to change the application link and icon, just click and hold the application icon

Thanks, how do you apply the font? Copying it \Windows\Fonts\ is not enough!? In XMT the fonts don't appear on the font tab.

Believe me. I've tried. It get's f'd up bad >.> I'm okay at xml editing but this is confusing me too. I'll report back when I have time. School starts in a week T.T

How did you change your windows logo on the start menu I like yours about 100000 times more than the normal one

I actually use Garmin's roms. You can ask him how to change the logo. I think it's a png file attached to a .dll
