Today i received my new HTC Touch 3G rom: 1.40.405.3(21259) (10/24/08)
The playback volume is very low. Compared to the Viva model of a friend it's about 50% low.
It looks there is no way to boost volume level using software.
What do you think of volume level of yours Touch 3G?
Are you talking about speaker volume or headset volume?
I almost never use speaker to play music but it seems loud enough and with a headset the volume goes pretty hard(above what is safe for your ears) so are you sure you've got the volume set on maximum?
There is a thread
there is a trhead about boosting music and works for me there are 2 types of boosting the light and max .cabs here is the link

just tried to use the speaker phone for the first time and the volume is extremely low! i set all my volumes to max so now where is the speaker phone setting hiding out at?
I would like to know if there is a way to hack the registry to increase / boost the phone headset volume. Please note I am not talking about the "speakerphone" volume, I just find that when talking to someone on the phone headset it seems alot softer than the Wizard that I had before, even when the volume is set to max.
i would also like to know how to do this. i feel like my wizards ear piece volume was deafening.. but on the tytn its so incredibly low
I don't have a problem with the headset, but even on the highest volume setting the phone's earpiece speaker is a bit too quiet.
Any thoughts anyone?
Thanks.
Same hear, just to darn low at the highest volume setting. I see there are fixes for other HTC phones but nothing specific for this phone. Has anyone on this board managed to hack the registry and find an effective fix to increase the earpiece volume?
i'd love this as well - just bought one of these :

and the volume level is VERY disappointing. my wizard used to have an acceptable volume level but i can't imagine being able to hear music on my tytn with traffic around. :-(
Hi All,
Anyone else consider there headphone output volume a little low?
I just went from a HP hw6965 to a Dopod 838pro and whilst listening to tunes through media player with the same headphones at volume 100% and the scroll wheel fully turned up, the dopod volume is considerably lower that the HP.
It's hearable but just not "loud" when at volume.
Am I missing something?
anyone or am I deaf?
I agree, I've had the hermes and several different htc smartphones, none of which had good "driven" sound levels.
The headphones don't help either, they leak sound really badly and don't really fit in my ears properly either.
ok, so I'm not going deaf. looks like time a got a headphone amp.
I totally agree. The volume level is just to low.
Isn't there a reg entry that can fix this?
yeah the volume is to low ;d
i had pocket player installed and raised my equilizer to tha max for a higher volume
Hi all,
as I dont like the sound quality of the htc headset that came with the jade I bought an adapter mini-usb to 3.5mm to fit my in-hear sony headset.
Now I have a problem that at the minimum volume level the person on the other side of the line during a call is actually still quite loud and I can not find any way to set the lowest value lower!
While listening to music now is excellent, as with windows media player I can decrease the volume as much as I want, I can not do the same with phone calls!
I looked into registry tweaks but they didnt do the job.
Anybody had the same issue...?
Thanks for any help
Get some earphones with a built in volume control.

So. it's about the person at the receiving end hearing it loud, not you. What you can control is the volume of your earpiece, not the other end. You cannot control the speaker unit. So you have to speak more softly or put the mic a little bit further away.
I just got it and noticed the earpiece volume is still low even with the volume turned all the way up.
Is there a setting I missed or maybe a registry fix?
Any help would be appreciated
HTC HD2
OS 5.2
MANILLA 2.5.2
ROM 2.13
RADIO 2.10
Don't mean to offend you. I had the same issue but was more of a user issue. I kept increasing the volume not paying attention that I was adjusting the ring volume and not the system volume.
if that doesnt work you may need to return it. My friends HD2 had low speaker volume and low earpiece volume. As much as we tried, we couldn't get it to go.
N1M1TZ - No offense taken, I only adjusted the volume during a call and at max it is still quiet.
I checked the settings/sounds, no adjustment for the earpiece just the ringer and the system sounds.
marduk79 - after doing a little digging I have found that this is a common problem with this particular batch of phones.
The first batch came out and the volume was set way to high that it was actually blowing out the earpiece.
I think I may have found a solution, if it works I will post it.
Thanks for the assist.
So what is the solution... My first one had sweet loud ear piece volume. But alas, the speaker blew. My replacement is alright, but I want it to be a tad bit higher... Lots of years of loud punk rock have made me slightly def I think...
Anyone know if there is a cab or registry tweak or something that will make the volume louder in the ear piece speaker?

How low? Like so low you couldn't hear it, or just low enough to be annoying? Basically my first HD2 was nice and loud. The new one is about 3 bars lower sounding turned all the way up... Which annoys me because I know the other one was louder and it's hard to hear people if I'm in an environment with a lot of background noise.
I feel like if I tried to take it in to get a replacement they would think I was nuts.
headphone and phone speaker too low
I too beleive the headphone volume is way too low, when listening to music or taking a call on the headphones it is barely loud enough too hear if there is any background noise such as traffic or conversations going on nearby. I have the volume about 75% when listening to talk radio stations, on my headset, no background noise present and it is at normal listening level. So if there is background noise, I need 100% for it to be loud enough to hear clearly. The phone speaker is not much better, when listening to calls on speakerphone the percentages are about the same for equvilent listening circumstances. I have tried "AudioPara3 TMO" and notice little or no difference in sound. Does anyone know of anything that will increase the maximum volume level for both speakerphone and headphones?
I'd like to know if there is any registry hack to increase the line out volume as well. My line out volume is very low, I have to put it to about 50 percent to match what would be the 20-30 percent level of my old HTC Touch (Touch 1 to HD2 - quite an upgrade, eh?? )
