Ok I have tested your drivers with CorePlayer Benchmark
so my result :
htc_d3dm.dll => 113% (video bleach in flv right resolution)
omnia => (yours) => 83% (worst so)
d3dm_ati.dll => 81 % (worst too ...)
so stay on d3d from htc for the moment
ok I have test again
CorePlayer for same video in d3d is at 110 % for all drivers
for Hologram :
ati: 16 fps
omnia : won't run
htc: 0,11 fps

Yeah, of course,
I join the 2 files
Install process :
Unzip libgles_cl.zip, copy dll in \Windows (use tcmd or any other tools)
Install Diamond Ati d3d driver.cab
Reboot
Here we are now there is 3d and d3d hardware acceleration,
If you want to switch back to official drivers, just uninstall Diamond Ati d3d driver and reboot
It's not perfect, I have freeze one time, so just for testing, I hevy test it actually,

I will do a backup now, because it could be really painfull if something wrong
Does this mean the d3d driver improves video acceleration compared to the official HTC?
for video is really light the difference, but noticable
without, I have 103% in a video (FLV 536x306 25 fps) with CorePlayer benchmark
113 % with new driver
I have just test Direct Draw mode (D3D so)
I will test it more, but seems to be really really nice

Hi, been home from work on a sick leave all day, and being bored to death started looking at the possibilites of perhaps making Manila2D available on the X1 (Portrait-mode only though)!
Instructions goes like this.
1. First, install the latest version of Manila2D. It can be found here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=398173
Follow the instructions found on that page.
2. Next, install the VGA-update made by pijulius, everything explained here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=429224
(the file you're looking for is the last link in the first post).
3. Go to Settings -> Today and uncheck the TouchFlo-plugin.
4. After you have done that, download my file, extract HTCHomeSettings.xml and move it to the Windows-folder of your device.
Go back to the settings for Today and check the box for TouchFlo. Voilá, working.
If your ROM is not WWE, but perhaps Swedish or something, you can follow the instructions in the last answer of this post, this will fix alot of problems you might otherwise encounter:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=2691419&postcount=2741
Thank's to: Herg62123/others for Manila2D, pijulius for the VGA-version, darth maximus for his QWVGA-version that taught me alot, and ababrekar for the HTCHomeSettings XML-tutorial.
Will continue to work on this to see if I perhaps can improve it somehow
Screenshots:
Oh, the background image is taken from a QVGA-Manila2D-theme and resized to WVGA-size, renamed hh_fw_background.png and put in the windows\manilagfx-folder.
Bet it looks awesome on that screen.
Good job!
Great!
I really want my X1 - NOW!
Oh my!!! That is nice.
Can you make Manila2D work on one of the panels? Or does it remove panels?
I suppose the next step would be to get the new version of Manila from the Touch HD.
Hehe I'm unfortunately not that good This is a today-plugin for the Microsoft Today-screen, which is one of the panels!
Yeah, hopefully we'll get a version that's made for WVGA from the Touch HD when it's released!

Any bugs you've noticed? How's the keyboard?
Did you add this as a new panel along side the other panels or you completely remove xperia panels?

This isn´t a new panel or something, its a today-plugin that runs on the "standard" today-screen, which also happens to be one of the panels!
Unfortunately there isn´t any good versions of TouchFlo 3D out yet!
Any idea if it will work on other WVGA devices, especially Toshiba G900? As far as I know G900 has only 128 mb ram so that may be a problem.

Hey,
Due to the other NFS Hardware accelerated G-Sensor thread becoming cluttered with links and people comparing it to iPhone version, I have raised this thread.
Please can people post possible solutions to the various errors people get. I, for one, get a black screen and non-responsive phone right after the NFS UNDERCOVER screen after it asks if I want sound.
I've also had the no memory error on another ROM.
The strange thing is it worked on the original drivers, changed to ATI and it stopped working. Changed back - still not working. Reinstalled the ROM (hard reset) and STILL not working.
Solutions please, along with the problems that are solved with that solution.
Cheers!

Thanks for the suggestion but I really don't think this is a good idea. For one, the Omnia drivers have already been tried and they are in relation to Direct3D-accelerated apps/games etc so it is not applicable to an OpenGLES-accelerated game such as NFS Undercover. Secondly, it has been found that in the case of D3D, the Samsung drivers have done better than the native software rendering drivers provided by HTC. However, the best drivers for the Diamond and other HTC phones with such a Qualcomm MSM7201A 528Mhz chipset is that the ATI ones are hardware-accelerated D3D drivers, and hence are the best for D3D. Not OGLES.
Some off-topicness, but some clarifications so others don't fall in the same pitfalls.
I think the real problem lies in the differences between the original HTC ROM and cooked ROMs. If we can figure out what specific difference is causing the black screen (I have it too), then we can figure out a solution quick enough. Hopefully.
Strange thing is - i've had it working on cooked roms. It was only after i changed to ATI drivers did it stop working.
Also, as I said, when I re-installed the same ROM (hard-reset) it wasnt working again.
Needless to say I'm completely confused!
Thanks for the clarification though Nuke, didn't know that!
nuke1 is 100% right... I'm also 100% sure that the ATI drivers does nothing to improve the performance in NFS Undercover since it's an OpenGL ES game.
The ATI drivers are D3D drivers.

Found a way to fix it
Enable TF3D!
Any idea why enabling Touch3d would make the game work?
Down point about this : TF3D stops the fone going into landscape so cant play in landscape :-( But still works!
Need to see if anyone has an answer!
My recent experience with the black screen - it didn't work using Shep's WM6.5 until I enables TF3D2. Something about the G-sensor drivers with HTC versus the native WM6.5. I tried removing video drivers, adding drivers. For me, it all boiled down to the g-sensor. Cooked roms might be hit and miss based on what the chefs do with the g-sensor stuff.
In my case it just doesn't work. I use standard HTC ROM, I disable TF3D to get extra memory, and everything, but I just can't get pass the black screen that freezes my phone completely, so I have to soft reset. This only happens in G-sensor version. Other one, with on screen comands runs with no problem. It would just be much better to control the car with tilting. Tried to look for solution several places, but no one seems to know the solution to this one. Looks like no NFS for me
I am using XBMOD Manila Rom, in that it was working excellently
where do you guys get nfs i've looked for it but it says its not for diamond

get it install it set it to run (maybe add it as an exclusion to taskmanager) it's superb.
If chainfire can get it running as a service it will be amazing!
Video playback is better, opera performance is better. overall it's better!
(this may not work on a stock rom, but I think all the files are there)..

recommended for itjes touch it 7.x as well?
Thanks...I'll try it...

I found it breaks the R3A Camera app. Anyone else can confirm it before we file a bug to Chainfire.

Thanks for posting this program, I have benchmarked GfxBoost with Spb Bench, SpeedBooster2 Bench and SKTools Bench to see if there was a quantitive improvement we could measure, apart from the glowing testimonials I have read. I have posted the results on the Turbo Speed Rom 2 thread out of respect for your thread.
Does this patch have uninstall? If it breaks something, can I uninstall it so that everything is as it was? Or it can not be unintstalled/can't revert changes?
How can i add an exception for it?
Is it a registry value?

Quoted from linked thread:
"TFM (The F*ing Manual, read it!)
Requirements
An HTC-built MSM7K-based device, sporting QTV and some similar nonsense. In general, I would say this this is the entire range between the Vogue and the Touch Pro, though I've only tested it on Kaiser and Touch Pro, and both are GSM.
Installation
- Install the CAB on your device
- Soft-reset (does not seem to be needed on all devices)
- Start GfxBoost and click Enable
Uninstallation
- Start GfxBoost (if not running) and click Disable
- Uninstall CAB as usual"
I daresay you can uninstall it with no problem... The app requires installation as well as activation through running the app to work, so no changes are permanently made.

My bad, thanks for that. I do not know how I skipped something that I needed to know.
On my stock R2AA008 the camera works with no problem after enabling GfxBoost.
Just tested it with status Enabled (Active) and I can't say I like it. Video performance is not better at all. At least not with coreplayer. I was using it with qtv output even before this GfxBoost, but with enabled, I must switch to other video output otherwise there is no video rendered on the screen.
iGO8 is not faster with this tweak, or at least I can't say I saw any difference. The same is valid for opera. No visual improvement at all. SPB mobile shell 3.0 too.
The only thing that I need to mention for my results is that I already have ATi graphics drivers installed on my X1 (the UI is generally faster with them), so maybe because of that I can't see any improvements with this GfxBoost.
Where are the ATI drivers from? Also I thought coreplayer didn't really make use of the processing powers of the xperia at all.

Currently coreplayer does not utilize the VGA acceleration by video playback, only WMP/Media Panel does.
I was talking for these drivers:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=486713&highlight=graphics+driver
The ati D3D.zip package.
I noticed that my battery is going down really fast when i enable it. Like the battery losses 10% every couple of hours or so. It never noticed my battery to go down that fast before.
hey,
i installed it earlier and it seems to be working quite well for me, quite a few things are smoother... such as opera, tf3d, even coreplayer!

Hi everyone...
I've been playing around with OpenGL ES, struggling to get it to compile, and eventually succeeding to discover that some of the parameters I set wouldn't work on the Diamond.
I've fixed all of the issues that I know of and now I want to see what devices a little test application will work on.
Hopefully, it should work on all the MSM720X based devices, and anything else that supports OpenGL|ES, that support can either be hardware or software acceleration, so those of you without the more recent devices can give it a shot and see what happens.
You should be presented with a triangle, that you can reorientate with mouse click and drags...
If people could test it out and see what happens, I'd be very happy
It may even lead somewhere!
Tested and verified on:
HTC Touch Diamond
HTC Touch Diamond2
Xperia X1 (sortof...)
HTC Touch HD
HTC Touch Pro

C++. Which is why I had trouble setting it up. Koush's managed API is easier to set up, but slower to run...
Attached is a new version that utilises a wrapper for some OpenGL ES functions, and l3v5yExtendedFunctions for some window creation etc...
It should have comparable frame rates, memory usage etc.
It also utilises the accelerometer of HTC devices, tap the center button (or anything that sends VK_RETURN) do toggle it.
You need to copy both dlls and the exe to your device, then run the exe.
Fast and smooth on my diamond here
and the new version is flickering a bit by fast moves

That probably means your device doesn't have a libGLES_cm.dll file. Which means that by default there's no OpenGL ES support.
Something that may be of interest to people here...

Is it worth trying or do you more experienced users say, forget it it's to device specific and you can never combine that with other LEO specific packages.

qilin is based on POWERVR chipset..
the Qilin manila calls specific parts of that chipset, so unless you have some intermediate layer or edit the lua I can't see it working very well..

Some findings: the calendar tab is working well, not sure if there are some graphical glitches, but it definity runs fine. It shows an elegant animation when one is switching views (to test it just overwrite the current calendar package with the new one. Sure, I am forgettin something here, doesn't bother, it runs. Tweaking is something for later)
The CyberVoiceSpeedDial is running flawlessly!
The programtab: Haven't added it yet. I'm very curious If somebody has that tab running.

It's strange I have the new internet tab running (nothing new of course), and it runs very well but the graphics are all messed up (or better: there are some graphical elements missing). I just copied the package over the existing package but clearly there is some reference to some graphic files that are part of set of files that don't belong to this package.
I know hardly anything about manila, but where should one look for those "missing" files? Is there a shared library? (btw functional-wise the new tabs are running fine, only some graphical problems)

No problem, mirror added in first post.
Ok, here is a problem.
I browsed through the mode9 manila calendar files and I see references to images in the form of \Assets\Images\Calendar\xxxx.pvr
now I searched for what the heck a pvr file is and I found this:
2.6 was first developed on the HTC Qilin, this device is OMAP3, This was back in june, so 2.6 is nothing new. and the device is using Power Vector Textiles(PVR) for the GFX, and since qualcomm chipsets do not recgonize PVR GFX, 2.6 manila will not work. Qulacomm chipsets use QTC GFX, and not PVR.

And when I browse through cookiemonsters filelist of Manila 2.5 I see indeed references to qtc files instead of pvr files
That is definitely not looking good
Anyone a idea of how to go on with this?
Basically, when I look at the callendar tab. All is functioning well. Only thing what's wrong are the graphics. They are simply missing... In the mode9 files I see references like for example ".\Assets\Images\Calendar\button_down.prv" and a reference to a non-existing manila file.
Because the callendar tab hasn't that much graphics, i wonder is there a way to port this? Suggestions? (Again, the animations are really worthwhile to do such a port)
