i used the battery status tool to overclock my wing at 186mhz or so. i now get white strips and black strips across my screen. since i cannot see anything, can i fix the issue by uninstalling it via activesync?
soft reset and drop the OC spped youll see that happen it take time for a OC to become stable that happned to me the first time i did it
i rebooted 4 times with no success. i had it overclocked at 199 and got a screen that looked a little fuzzy, so i thought dropping the overclocking by ~10mhz, i would be able to fix it, and ended up with a worse result. the plugin is actually set to overclock on reboot. i ask again "can i fix it by hooking it up via activesync and uninstall it to fix the issue?"
well idk i never had to uninstall it
Well on some settings the screen gets real ugly. I've learned the best underclocking speed while the phone is sleeping is like 123mhz and overclocking speeds, that don't have any fuzzy lines or the screen getting unreadable, that I use are 221, 247, and 299 .
I think anything past 299 makes the phone freeze.

If push comes to shove you could always do a hard reset...
Fix
Look on the batterystatus website or in the manual, there is a txt file you can create on your PC then put on SD card so when you do a soft reset batterystatus is disabled. Hope this helps

Hi,
I'm very happy with my universal (wifi and vga in pocketsize) only one thing is driving me crazy.
every, say once in 10 times the universal won't start when I press the power button. (after it turning off automatically after a few minutes when on battery power). Worse yet, it doesn't accept phonecalls and smses anymore either..so it already crashed silently. Unfortunately you can't see this from the outside since the lights still flash. I only notice it crashed when trying to start the device.
I've updated to wm6 because I thought it was a wm5 issue, but it wouldn't help. I also updated to radio 1.13 (the orange radio stack as found on this site). But this too, didn't fix it.
does anybody else have the same problem?? This problem renders my whole device unuseful. =^(
thanks!
Reinier
Welcome to the club...looks like no solution on this one yet. Here is a link
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=272938
Some say it might be incompatibility with the SD card, but not in my case.
Hi,
that doesn't sound too good.
Anyhow, I'll experiment with it some more (what else can one do?) to see what is making it crash more or less (wifi/sdcard/simcard/battery?)
I'll post my findings... maybe we can find some mutual thing which might be causing it
I doubt it is software related since my whole machine is wiped clean and has nothing on it
R
yes, me too...and it seems to get worst as time goes by...anyways, I suggest that if you have any warranty left to send it back for warranty. GOodluck!
thats a pretty good point... ;^)
I'll check.
too bad it's quite vague description:
yes, sometimes it doesn't powerup..
you can already see the technicians there... they try it 4 times, it works everytime (of course) , and they send it back with a sticker saying 'correct'
ah well.... lets not get ahead of time.

hi, i didnĀ“t experienced that problem, but when i start up my device, sometimes, the start-up is really slow and the screen gets white but finally, i mena 2 or 3 secondsĀ“ time it becomes normal.

What do u mean with PM?
DId u get the solution?
See ya folks
Solution
Check you PM means check ur private messages
A fellow here with the same problems sent his device for repair and the problem was voltage control unit of mainboard
Solution:
1. Install Pocket Hack Master and go to settings and disable the CPU scaling of the device. Then set it to start at startup. Then clock your device at 312 mhz before turning off the device or closing the clamshell. You can always clock it to 520 while using cpu intensive applications. Just make sure to set it at 312 before turning it off.
thank you buddy
Jumanji1212
Did it also work for you? I forgot to add that I am also using an external charger specifically for Universal because Im afraid charging it via miniusb might mess up the voltage control unit more.
Well, i normally charge it with the ac/dc adaptor but not always. Since i deleted spb diary today plug-in and installed the latest qtek spanish rom and radio, the time of the white-screen shorten.

Hello, I have the same problem (Power button does not start after an auto sleep).
My qtek 9000 however gives a blank screen when playing with the PHM speed tests. (When it is plugged in it works.)
Now I am a little afraid to do the "set it to start at startup"
Is there no risk it will never startup anymore?
Can I do this (temporaly) just for testing without the auto startup option?
So: disable CPU scaling and set the speed on 312 and put it in sleep mode.
I need my Qtek so badly that I get horribly stressed with this kind of things.

To start, I'm terribly sorry if this is a cross thread and the question has already been answered, but i couldn't find it...
Anyway. I'm using my Wizard w/ WM5 IPL\SPL 2.25 and AKU 3.3. And it likes to RESTART/SOFTRESET it's self randomly. I have not a clue what to trace this back to... It did it on WM6, so i went down to WM5 for multiple reasons, one, to see if it fixed the reset issue... It still does it, but not near as much as it did w/ WM6..
I use batterystatus, and i do over clock, and i overclock a little lower than what most people OC to. I OC to 247 w/ CPUSCALER on at 143~195~247 ~ 260 Boost. My temps are pretty low. Spiking sometimes at like 32C and maybe in the sun and heat it goes higher than 35. otherwise i usually see an average of about 28 or 29C constantly. Drain is always between 50~250 mA and 219~1200 mV (i'm not sure what the high is on the mV reading...)
But anyway. The thing just resets it self for no apparent reason. Theres nothing i'm doing to induce it. I'll simply open my keyboard and then try and respond to a text (that i'm now getting with WM5, i hope the missing text/call issue w/ WM6 will be resolved soon. :] ), or i'll set my phone down on my desk, and then try and wake it up by tapping the power switch, but it's off..
So I don't know. I don't to bore you guys w/ information. But if there's anything else I can let you know to help solve the mystery, please ask.
A little extra:
If this means anything. Today I had to make a trip to the local AT&T store... My SIM was fried.. I'd turn my phone on and it said "Invalid or Missing SIM." So i was stumped. I Turned it off, put in a friends chip, and it worked, i even got one of her texts.. I call up 611 to see if i could go to the store and get a new chip, and yes i could. I ran down to the ATNT store and got my self a new chip and now my phone works again, with yet less Softresets... So idk if this has anything to do w/ the issue. If the old SIM was shorting or something.. i have no clue....
AHHHHHHHH. Thanks.
edit: whatever, got a warranty exchange.
I don't know what happened this problem just started 2 days ago. I've tried reinstalling rom. Installing a new one, and every time. Data wipe factory reset.
The problem is after about 15-20 seconds of phone being woke up it works perfect no problems. Then for so reason when I try to touch the screen I have to push a little harder than normal and tap a couple times. Only on the sides of the screen never in the middle, but that is not even the real problem. When the phone starts acting up, and I try to touch the any where on the screen every time I touch the screen my status bar comes down. Likes its over lapping. Especially when I'm trying to text. I go to press the "P" and right when I touch it the status bar drops. I don't know how to fix this. Like I said I reinstalled and downloaded a new rom. Is there a better and more efficient way to reset my phone? Please any help much appreciated.
Interesting, I have seen this as well, but only on OverClocked roms. If yours is over clocked, get one of the OC apps and set it to 528 or what ever ours are set to by default and see if it helps.
Usually goes away on its own for me. Haven't had it at all with DD or FroYo
Yes. please forgive spelling, but it started with the Pure Hero rom. I do believe it was OC'ed. Then I switched to the one I have been using for about 3 months. Alloyius*spelling*. That is oc'ed also and it didn't do the status bar thing for about 2 hours. I was excited I had my phone back. Then BOOOOM. Fuggin up again. Downloading set cpu now. Sure 528 is what it should be set or should I try some other #'s? Thanks for the help.
Damn the only set cpu app I know of is "Set Cpu" lol, and it will not accept my debit card for the 1.99$. Is there another generic cheap one I can use for about 10 secs to see if problem is fixed?

i think there is a free try one...
SETCpu is available somewhere here on XDA for free i think, unless the dev took it down.
Ok gaining some ground. Found the set cpu here on forums. going to try it thanks!
ok got the set cpu and did the preset for cdma hero. still doing it. is there anything else I can try to tweak? Any ideas appreciated
Mayb recalibrate ur screen Idk if it'll work but its worth a shot
Sent from my HERO200 using XDA App
would deleting the nandroid file do this? The phone still does this bs after reinstalling a rom.
Id run the ruu n if it does it on Stock return it and get a new 1

Im having some issues with my vibrant and since today, everytime I lock the screen, then i try to unlock it, it stays black and nothing comes up or anything i just can seem to unlock it without holding the power button which causes the vibrant to restart. is anyone having this problem? Any solution to it other than formating maybe? Its rooted and I have a lag fix on it.
I'm assuming you've rebooted?
no i didnt. i didnt try to do that because i didnt want to lose everything. i was hoping its some app and i tried uninstalling some apps but still got the same problem. It keeps happing to me everytime since earlier today. you think that would work?

I thought the same thing.
Ok. Something must be in the air. Exact same thing happening to me today.
Each time the screen times out the phone becomes unresponsive. Blank screen, soft keys don't light up. If I hold the power button too long it just reboots.

Set CPU
Ya know what, as soon as I posted the details on my phones configuration it dawned on me that it could be a setcpu problem... Looking into it.
Set CPU was my problem. When I looked at the min/max they were both set at 19 out something ridiculously low like that. NO MORE SET ON BOOT!
I bought SetCPU but have not installed it on the Galaxy... I really don't see the point right now unless you want to underclock, and yes, it has been reported (perhaps fixed now?) that set on boot could cause issues.
I would just uninstall till we have a kernel we can OC.
OP, what would you lose by rebooting? Yes... I do believe that would work (and uninstalling SetCPU if you have it or change the aforementioned)
Set CPU profiles cause the phone to reboot and or freeze. See this thread forum.xda-developerscom/showthread.php?p=7808723#post 7808723
lagginess
Just to clear the setcpu is useless without a proper kernel i had it everything bogged down badly like reported went down to 19 from 10000. I would just take off the setcpu and wait for a kernel my phone def sped up after but thats my own experience.
I've got a problem with my I9000, several times throughout the day it will randomly restart itself. It will be quite happily sat idle in my pocket not doing anything, and then suddenly I hear the boot-up sound from my pocket. It's just started doing this since Thursday or Friday I think it was, had nearly 700 hours uptime on it (699 hours ) and then I noticed from my SeePU notification that something was hammering the processor, running it at >90% for more than 10 minutes. Couldn't see any programs running in the background so decided to restart the phone. This is one my problem started.
It's running stock JPY with Voodoo Advance kernal, it was overclocked to 1.2GHz and had some undervolting from 800MHz down, this had been stable for all of those 699 hours, but I disabled the OC and UV yesterday to see if it was that causing the trouble, but even with it disabled the phone's still been restarting.
What would be really great is if there is some kind of crash log for Android (something similar to the Windows Event Viewer) so I can see what's causing this. Does anyone know if such a thing exists, and if it does how I might go about accessing it?
Failing that, anyone know why my phone would suddenly start restarting itself now?
had pretty much the same issue, different kernal and rom... but had an OV/UV that for the most part was stable...
then today was continually restarting.....
solution?
changed CPU scheduler to noop
changed CPU Governor to conservative (Galaxy S cpu default configuration)
Now not restarting at all... and that's with a 1.3GHz overclock... running several benchmarks and no undervolting at all.
I'll let you know if it starts acting up... but interesting that this at least fixed it for me.
Stupid thing has restarted itself twice this morning. This is ridiculous.
I've just set the schedular to noop, can't see an option to set the governor though. Will see if that sorts it.
Would really appreciate knowing if there's a log file or something though
If it was a PC you would say its overheating .
jje
Found an app on the market called OS Monitor that shows all the running processes and what load they're putting on the CPU, it also shows the dmesg and logcat log files.
Thankfully my phone hasn't restarted itself since changing the schedular, but if it does I should hopefully now be able to find out why
quick answer. Reflash the phone .
I guess reflashing and removing some dangerous apps will be good for you phone.
Hmm, well looks like it's given up on restarting itself and is just plain turning itself off now.
Looks like I'm going to have to reflash the stock kernal and see if that fixes it
