I just tried a alternate calender software and it screwed my calender touch button on the today screen up.
I get "The file ':MSPOUTLOOK calender' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. You might need to reinstall or restore this file.
Could anyone please post the registry keys containing ":MSPOUTLOOK calender"
Preferably from a german X1 if that makes a difference
Problem solved..mscalender was simply wrong..mscalendar is right and it works again..

I have a swedish Qtek 9100. I had trouble installing some applications but then I used the SetSecurity.exe so now I can install the applications without the security prompt. But some of the applications I install can not be started without an error message.
For example, I bought Xbar 3 and when I press the battery symbole I get this error message.
"The file power could not be opened. It is probably not signed with a trusted certificate, or otherwise some of the components could not be found. Yoy might have to reinstall the application or restore this file"
The message is roughly translated from swedish.
I get this error message with other applications as well. How can I get past this error so I can use my applications? I have tested with Default_Cert_SPCS.CAB but with no luck.
Would be very happy for a solution of this.

I have this problem too!
Did you ever solve it please?
ps I get this particularly on hyperlinks...I don't have the app you quote and I get it on an O2 Exec (HTC Universal)
Check to see if the shortcut is correctly pointing to the source-file.
Unfortunately, nothing can be done to these error messages. They have nothing to do with he security mechanisms - so, switching off security won't help. These apps are just not compatible with WM5.
No I found a way to make them work. I sign the exe files with a certificate I found named TestCert_Privileged.cer.
Then I just install the cert on the Qtek 9100 and then all my applications is working!
Please post a link to TestCert_Privileged.cer or at least tell people where they can get it pls?
I donĀ“t remember where I found it so I attaches the files here instead. Unpack them and run sign.bat <filename> to sign the exe file with the cert. And copy the cer file to the phone and open it to install it. Then you can copy the signed exe file to your phone and the application will start.
Cheers
I hope it will work for you, all my apps that got that annoying error message are now working after the signing procedure
For some unknwon reason I lost my RightSoftkey.exe
This is the one for activating 'Contacts' on the Toady screen bottom right hand corner
Error Message
"The file 'RightSoftkey' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of its components cannot be found. You might need to reinstall or restore this file"
Can somebody upload this file?
I'm using QTEK 9000. Thank you
RE
I made it!
Using a registry editor I went to
[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Today\Keys\113]
and set Open to Windows\Start Menu\programs\contacts.lnk
and up comes my contacts
Help is of course accredited also to Docc at pocketdubai.com
use Tweaks2k2.NET ver 3.14
Mine did the same I had to hard reset !!!!!!
I want to have some softs run at start up (use the option provided by the software, eg.: photo contacts, wisbar) in WM5, but it always give an error
"The file "xyz" cannot be opened. EIther it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or 1 of its components cannot be found. You might need to reinstall or restore this file"
But if i try to open the software manually after the system has loaded, it works fine.
Any1 know how to solve this?
Thanks
On the Cingular 8125 I was trying to change the left soft key to open start menu. Found out it didn't work. Now I go back to the registry under 112 key and type the old default "\Windows\calendar.exe", wait a while, then soft reset.
Now I get an error message saying:
The file 'calendar' cannot be opened. Either it is not signed with a trusted certificate, or one of it's components cannot be found. You might need to reinstall or restore this fie.
Any ideas on what I screwed up? I can access the calendar from the programs page no problems.
I figured it out. I was told the string needed to be in "" but I tired it without and it's back to working fine again.
Need Help With This, Too!!
Exactly what is it you did to eliminate the problem. Everytime I press the left soft key, I also get that error message that HTCCalendar cannot start.
\Windows\calender.exe
That's what string I typed in
eXtremeAgendaSetup175.exe issue...i installed a program called xagende. i did not like it so i uninstalled it. now, every time i press the contacts tab on the today screen i get the follwing message "the file 'xagenda' cannot be opened. either it is not signed with trusted certificate,or one of its components cannot be found.you might need to reinstall or restore this file".
can anyone please tell me how to get rid of this annoing message? THNX!
