If you do a hard reset the back-button, or hang-up button, as well the dial-pad, make tones. If you deactivate them by using the windows mobile sound settings, you will deactivate all system sounds.
But by editing the registry you can deactivate this specific sounds pretty easy.
Go to
Code:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sounds\Keypress
and change the REG_DWORD BeepMode from "2" to "0".
I tried it with the CeRegEditor http://ceregeditor.mdsoft.pl/ and it worked fine!
I found this on the hermes forum. I have a few questions related to the registry entry to be made to change the vibration sequence.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/archive/index.php/t-278171.html
Now it was mentioned that the script for vibrate and ring is by default
in the entry HKCU\Control Panel\Sounds\RingTone0
script = av0pw3r
i tried changing it to av1w1v1w1pw0r
Now what happens is, the ring starts without any delay, but then the vibration sequence starts, finishes then the ringtone starts... How do i change the script such that both the vibration sequence and the ringtone happen at the same time?
search for vibro tweak in the forum possibly it'll help you
Install HDtweak 0.5.4
Launch it. Go to Phone -> ringtype and set it to "vibration and ring"
I use french HDtweak so I don't know the right english name...
I checked the registry tweak that this program makes too.
it is v1w1v1w1v1w1pw0r
This is, it will vibrate thrice, then play the music... doesn't serve my purpose, sorry.
I am left handed and I keep accidentaly turning of the telephone's ringer volume control, and thus missing incoming calls. As I earn my living by answering my telephone I needed to find a simple way to stop this happening.
Here is how:
load a registry editor like PHM Registry Editor from: http://www.phm.lu/Products/Smartphone/RegEdit/
Then go to:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\HTC\VolumeOverlay
Click on "DefaultPage" and change the value from 1 to 0 (zero)
click on OK and close the registry editor and do a soft reset.
Now if you press on the volume control by accident or on purpose the System Volume appears first, so the worst thing you can do by accident is turn off the system sounds. The phone sound is now the second option and is more difficult to turn off accidentaly.
Hope that helps someone.
Sam
Thanks.
As lefthanded user it overcomed me often.
Works fine,
Hans
How can I turn of Experia Dialer? It is ****. I like original WM dialer with basic WM contats. Why I must use two Contact Cards (WM and SE)?

Phone/Phone skin: Disabled and restart
When I click phone from the windows start icon I just get the dialer that comes up...How do you get into the phone -phone skin disabled menu?
"advanced config" is a seperate tool.... you might be able to use sktools to do the same thing if youve got that. actually im 99% sure you can.
To disable the custom phone skin, use a Registry editor and edit the following:
HKLM\Security\Phone\Skin\Enabled = 0 (DWORD decimal)
You can restore the custom phone skin by changing it back to:
HKLM\Security\Phone\Skin\Enabled = 1 (DWORD decimal)
I know there is a feature
" ringer volume level that immediately scales down when the phone detects the touch of your hand"
how can i disable this feature..
I am using energy ROM
Go to your phone's "Settings" tab, look under "Sound and Display", find and turn off the "Quiet ring on pickup" option under Rings and Notifications.

I still cant find it
You might not be able to see the "Sound and Display" option sometimes when you go under your Settings tab. While you're on the Settings page, scroll up on this page to see the beginning of the list. It should start with the "Personalize" option. You should then be able to see the "Sound and Display" option. At least, this is the case for a stock T-Mobile US HD2.

I can find "Sound and Display"
but in it only 2 option - Sounds / Notification
If you can't find the option as mentioned above, just dive into the registry.
HKLM \ Software \ HTC \ Phone \ PhoneExtendSetting
Look for DWORD Value "EnableBePolite"
Set
1 - To enable Quiet Ringer on Pickup
0 - To disable the feature.
If you can't find the DWORD Entry there, just create one them. Simple!

wrong place. You have gone to system "sounds and notifications", where there are two tabs, one sounds, one notifictaions.
From the homescreen, slide along to settings (end tab)
If the top entry on teh settings tab is 'security' then you need to scroll the screen up, where you should see, third from the top, Sound & Display.
Pocket mode toggle and quiet on pickup toggle are there.
start menu, setting, sound, and you'll find it in there somewhere.

Good God man, they can't find a menu in Sense and you send them off to edit in the registry?!? Well, I guess that would stop their posting for a while.

Now why would you do that? These guys are confused as it is already. It's an HTC Sense feature and it definitely can't be found under START -> Settings.
@mikeeed
LOL... I catch your drift , but there are some ROMs where it doesn't show up in Sound & Display.
