Installed Garmin Mobile XT 5.00.20w.
Everything looks great! But for whatever reason my speed limit won't display on the nav screen... and my POIs won't display on the map detail screen.
Anyone encountered this on the Diamond (or any other device)? Is there a problem with my use of Mapsource to export the maps to my device?

iGO 2006
Requirements: Pocket PC 2003, Windows Mobile 5.0
Overview: Turn your Pocket PC into the ultimate navigation system. The iGO GPS navigation software helps you find your destinations quicker and simpler than ever before. Whether you use it in heavy metropolitan traffic or out in the countryside, iGO will always show you the right way.
I used it on my 8525 and my Treo 750 with no problems with the screen resizing from 320x240 on the 8525 to 240x240 on the Treo 750. But when I tried it on the Verizon Treo 700wx, the display screen is shrunken from bottom to top. If I change the Nav software from Portrait to Landscape it does the same thing...Shrinks to the left. I have checked all the display settings on both Treo's and all are the same that I can figure. Does anyone know how to fix this or what can be dont. It is definately an issue with the 700 as it works well on everything else I have tried. It shows that only the 750 is a compatable new Treo devise on the website for i-go. www.i-go.com Help.....
try to make a new text file called sys.txt with the following text:
[interface]
landscape=0
portrait=1
width=240
height=240
place it then into the igo directory on the sd card.
I will try it on monday thanks
it did not work, any other ideas. Anyone with a verizon 700 wanna try it themselves ?

Does anyone has any idea if it's possible to use garmin's maps in a windows mobile based device as trinity? Because my citiy's maps are only avaible in that format and I been driving mad trying to get a soft to do so.
Garmin Mobile XT is what you need:

I previously had GMXT version 4.20.50 and that worked flawlessly. The installation of this latest 5.00.10 update went fine, but whenever I attempt to run it I get a Garmin Mobile XT error at the Garmin startup screen saying "The system is low on memory. Please free some memory and restart the application." Contacting Garmin support yielded no answers, just saying that if it doesn't work, you can just revert back to the previous version. I'm using the stock X7501 ROM, and have 55MB Storage and 70MB Program memory available. So I doubt memory is really an issue here.
So I'm curious if anyone else that has an Advantage has installed this new version, and what their results were? I'd really like to use this update, as it adds some very nice new features to the app.
i have a X7500 and just installed the update and it starts ok i have 50mb storage and 71mb program
I found out the issue was with Spb's Mobile Shell Today plugin. Removing the plugin from the Today screen then allowed Mobile XT to run.
same problem
i have the same problem .. message of error at the begining
so i get back with older version
i 'm running bluechart charts ok with version 4.20.50wp
asus P535 wm6
What Today plugins do you have loaded? Try removing one at a time to see if you can get GMXT v5 to run. Trust me, it's worth it!
Thanks for the update. I wonder where's the focus group for this app. The way they continue to update it is great but I think there is a couple of obvious additions that should have taken priority.
Like a arrow on the map that shows the upcoming turn and distance to turn.
Addition of a QWERTY on screen keyboard.
A faster way to get to my saved "custom avoidance detours".
When entering a address all search results should start with the nearest locations first. ie. If I'm in Delaware and I'm searching for a address in New Jersey, Nebraska should not be at the top of the list.
Anyone install Garmin Mobile XT on the Advantage?
Hopefully it is permissible to resurrect this thread. I just bought a Pharos GPS Phone 600 and I am using Garmin Mobile XT on it. I Really like the combination. Now I am thinking of trying to find a nice used HTC Shift and getting Garmin Mobile XT for it. Do the windshield mounts available for these work pretty well, or would this be too large for use in a full size Chevrolet pickup truck?
I have a HTC X7500 and cant get Garmin to work, just won't load to main screen just sits there with the cursor spinning, I have tom tom running and Ndrive but don't like them as much as Garmin which I have on my old Nokia.
Can anyone advise which of the later versions of Garmin will work ok with the HTC.
Thanks
Paul
Hi everyone,
I know that Garmin mobile XT works perfectly with the HD and it uses the whole screen.
However, on the advanced Nuvi devices, there are 3d buildings and excellent navigation options.
Since the maps used for both devices (HD and Nuvi) are the same, does anyone know if its possible to see the 3d buildings on the HD? Or is it a feature that can be used only for the Nuvi Devices.
Thx
Hi guys
I have a problem with my internal GPS.
HTC Diamond 2 Ver 6.1
Its refresh rate is too slow
it means for example when I passed a cross road then show me I passed it.
but if I stop @ cross road 1 sec after it update itself and show me the right location.
is there any where in registry or somewhere else that I can change GPS refresh rate ?
Are using Garmin XT ?/ if yes, then there will be some lag and there is no fix for that
yes its Garmin XT ,
So what would you suggest to me to use ?
It depends on the available maps for a specific country under the gps application, I'm living in Thailand and the best detailed map is available under garmin xt so I'm stuck with garmin xt with the small lag...The new garmin maps are compressed with new nt technology which make the refresh slow and unfortunately Garmin hasn't update their application for WM since a long time to fix this problem.
Anyway, I heard that IGO and tomtom are better regarding the lag but you have to check if they offer a good map for your country
