Need Help for flashing Custom Rom (I'm German)

Hello, I found this Tutorial : http://thewingster.com/howtoflashnbhuspl.aspx .
Is it enough when I do all steps in the tutorial above or do I have to do this method before flashing ( http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=358225)
I want Just Stable 6.1 on my Device.
Please help me.
My Device is a GERMAN HTC Herald HERA 100 GERMAN
My Bootloader says following:
IPL 4.17.0001
SPL 4.17.0000

1. Go on thewingster.com and choose a nice wm 6.1 rom

(you must do that, other wise you will brick your device)

4. Congratulations, now you have a new rom

HardSPL
For my undersanding by reading the toturials: if you've made the HardSPL its donne. You only have to do that for one time.
From now on you can change the roms of your choice.

mind my sarcasm...but he meant to say...to upgrade your device without damaging it...you will need to follow some instructions....and if you read it well and if you are a sane guy...then you would atleast EDIT your POST and remove the god damn IMEI of your device....people dont give away their IMEI jus like that you know...its something only you should know...and jus so you know...i m not trying to piss you off cos you are as we call a newbie....so here is a breakdown of what you need to do
1. your device is an ELFIN...so we know
2. jus like you unlock your sim to use your phone...you need to unlock your device...(so that it becomes writable)
3. to do so...you would need to make use of a part of software called USPL and IPL...USPL does the part of keeping your device unlocked...and IPL needs to remain the same series....if you flashed a USPL of 3.XX then your IPL shud be 3.XX series
4. now do the reading on your own this time and discover all flavours of 6.5 ROMS available here....
btw i wonder why you havent tried the official 6.1 ROM from HTC

Tht's a good thing to backup your Original ROM, should be helpful in case of errors, bricking or re-servicing. (though i forgot to do mine )

There's is no problem about being not rewritable or sort! Once you CID unlock and upgrade your IPL/SPL, you can upgrade or degrade your device to any ROM you like whenever u like!
About opinions, there are alot of people here and would obviously have their own different opinions and so you will have too! I'd ask you to try out ROMs yourself and use the suitable one you choose. If you'd like to have a stable ROM, i'd advice you to use the 6.1 ROMs and if you'd like to have newer latest builds, you can go for the 6.5 ROMs (which have been optimized to their best stable by respective cooks). In the end, its up to you which you choose as your BEST ROM!
PS: Do read if the ROM is suitable for your device, in this case- Elfin and few FAQs posted out by the ROM cook. Respect others work and last but not least Read & Search before asking Questions!!

Thank you very much I finally upgraded my elfin to windows mobile 6.5 and it's awesome but i still have one more thing i want to make it read and write Arabic language without convert the whole interface is there a patch? I already searched about that and i found a file but it's not an application and I don't know how to use it. before that in my old 6.0 i downloaded an application when i install it, it solves the whole situation then i tried it with the 6.5 but the start menu won't open after i installed it so i formatted the ROM.

are there official 6.1 rom from htc? or is it for elfin only because i can't find official 6.1 for elf..

hi, first of all, the backup you have done is probably not ready to be flashed, so whatever you do, dont flash that again or u will brick your phone.

and finally, i think it will be better if u update ur ipl to 3.10 too.

what he means is....you may brick the device with the backup you just created. so if you wana restore your original...which is the one you have backed up now...you should and can only flash that by making use of USPL or HSPL...search the forum for USPL and HSPL...and you will be given guides...
btw...you really like writing in bold letters eh...kinda makes us feel we are blind...

you will need to create n account nd download the arabic support or you can download it free from HTC after regestering to HTC eclub
after installing the arabic suit enter setup and disable arabic interface and restart

Difference is that your phone does not have 3G or GPS. No reason why custom Rom's should not work.
So to flash a new Rom back-up your current Rom (see specific thread), apply hard SPL and select the Rom you like.....

Actually, one of the best ROMs I found here is based on your model. This one : New [ROM] [6.5.3_23541_WWE_Radio_3.53.25.20], uploaded by TangerineTractor. It's awesome and I recommend it to you. I'm using it now and it has only minor bugs that you/I can live with and although my model is T3333 after I flashed this ROM, my device says T3320 but everything works well. Try it!

I already try T3333 hard SPL from Jockey on my T3320... but it not work!

and there is no possibility in near future because i am coordinating with Jockywilson for the HSPL from last 10 DAys and finally failed to use HSPL

Hello All,
As for Addicted2Xda, the HSPL worked for my device (T3320) too & that too in first go.
I dont know much about these things & this is the first device that I own. I verified the procedure & my device in the tri-color screen reads 1.28.Hard on the LHS side. So i believe that HSPL has worked. The only way to confirm that this works is to load a custom ROM(which i am ready to load) but before that I would like to
1. Backup my current ROM (i.e. the original one from HTC so that in event of any issue, i can claim warranty)
2. In case the custom ROM doesnt flash or work, I can load the original one.
Now I, dont know the procedure, requirements, pre-req on how to do it & hence I would like your expert help in this matter. I am ready to do it, its just that i dont know how to do it & I would like to learn.
So is it possible, for someone to post the stepwise procedure to
1. Backup the current ROM.
2. Load the custom ROM.
For our device Model T3320. I also have a reason to specify "our device Model T3320" in every request simply becaue I, have read most of the thread there & found out that there is much misleading information about this device T3320 here. For e.g. in some threads you find that the HSPL is not working in some you find that it works & other things.
My aim (request or what ever you call it) in humble manner, is to make it easy for guys like me (who are new / dumb at this) to use this beautiful forum, in much better manner.
It is possible that, my aim has already been achieved & I am doing something wrong (probably since I have not read all the rules), in which case I am due for a butt-whipping from all the senior members, which i am ready to take, provided, it becomes easy for guys like me to use this forum.
Long post, you all can thrash me for it & i would gladly take the heat, but please consider my reqeust.

Great job HD.... i am also sailing in the same ship with you. T3320 is my first Windows mobile, there are a lot of doubts and confusions with the device.
Most of the terms used in this site are complete jargons to me, it would be great if someone comes forward to enlighten newbies like us.

If you have Hard SPLed your phone, just make sure that your boot loader shows 1.28.Hard (meaning you have successfully HSPLed your device). Luckily you do not need to backup your original ROM as it is already available in the Roll up thread . WWE Asia is your ROM (if you are an Asian that is ).
if your HSPL shows as 1.28.Hard, you can flash any custom ROM you feel like. Just give a few of them a shot, you are bound to like one of them .
Once I flashed my ROM with a custom ROM, never bothered to revert to the Original crap, be it my Vox, my Gene or my Mega.
BTW if you are really interested to know the methods / jargons (well some of them), just pm me and I will be glad to help you - but please note that I have a real job, so it will take some time .

Once you hardspl your device, your warranty is void.. unless you find a way to put the original spl back on your device... whether you flash a custom ROM or not is immaterial.
But please note that it is my personal opinion, but:
1. I have a Vox for nearly 4 years now... never needed to send it to service centre... only had to change the battery once... that too last year.
2. I had a Gene for more than 1.5 years and sold it to a friend of mine (who used it for 6 months till he lost it)... without a glitch.
3. Using my touch2, flashed it within 1 month without caring for the world (BTW I am not a millionaire... if I was, I would go for TP2 ).
If you want to try new stuff... you have to take the risk.
Best of luck in enjoying your Touch2 right now... or waiting for the warranty to get over

yes you can.i have the same model and flashed almost
ALL the ROMS available in the ROM section of MEGA
and all work great!!

I never knew my model was 3320, I used jockey's HSPL, been using custom ROMS from here, all works fine

Question about downgrade

Hi ,first of all I want to excuse if the thread exist.Before few days ,I buy HTC Touch HD ,and it's with Windows Mobile 6.5 ,and I think that the device is very slowly and I want to make downgrade to 6.1.I don't understand the terms ,and I don't known what I have to do.As I know the phone have to be hacked ,and I have to flash it with new ROM (what exactly ROM is?)
How I can understand did my HTC is hacked ,and how to install the new ROM with WM 6.1
Also as I read I have to see my "SPL" ,but don't know where this info is ,and what means ,i read that if is HSPL or USPL so the phone is hacked or something like that ...

1. DO NOTHING if you don't understand what terms mean. You may make your device unusable!
2. If you don't understand this: [TUT] Dummies guide: flashing 1.56+ roms [v 2.0] - [HSPL][USPL] DO NOTHING!
Please state at least your country, maybe there is someone who can guide you in your native language...

You should learn more and you'll figure it out for yourself...
And yes by flashing a new ROM(anykind of) the older ROM will be deleted.
The User Interface(touchflo, manila, sense, titanium) is, usually, included in the ROM, but there are UI instalable like any other application by cab. file(ex: spb shell), it's up to you to chose a ROM depending UI you like/desire, but again you should read more...
You should start by reading(very carefully) "Dummies Guide for..." from this section(ROM development).

As for your query, read the Dummies Guide thread. The second or third paragragh down explains how to put your device in bootloader. Check your SPL. It should state either SPL 1.54.000 or SPL 1.56.Olinex. This will tell you whether or not you have HSPL on your device or not, i.e. if 1.56.Olinex, you have HSPL. If so, just flash a WM6.1 rom
If SPL is 1.54.000 you will need to put either USPL or HSPL on your device before flashing a wm6.1 rom
All you need to do is follow the Dummies Guide and you will be grand
i.e. if you want to use USPL and your SPL is 1.54.000 go to step (USPL5) on post 3
or if you want to use HSPL go to step (HSPL2a) on post 2

[Q] need wm 6.1 rom for my htc 3300!!!!!!

I have HTC P3300 and it came with WM6 with the following config.
ROM : 3.7.701.1 WWE
ROM date : 6/21/07
Radio : 02.69.90
Protocol : 4.1.13.30
ext Rom : 3.6.707.101
Now i want to upgrade it to WM6.1
I SEARCHED THRU MANY POSTS. i got so many answers to my questions but i have some fundamental questions and if anybody can answer that i will be really obliged.
1) I have vodafone India. Can i flash a ROM which is for another carrier. For eg. when I searched the thread "Artemis_Upgrades" I could not find any HTC WWE factory ROM which matched the above specs. BUT when i saw the factory ROM of DOPOD WM6. It matched the above specs perfectly.
so the basic question is if anything goes wrong in my upgrade then can I flash the DOPOD rom on my HTC
2) I have searched the forums but i could not find a valid factory WM6.1 ROM. If anybody can provide a link then it would be a great help to me. Please also specify which ROM (dopod or any other) is compatible to my HTC.
3) Once i get both the above factory ROMs (WM6 and WM6.1) i will be flashing my HTC and the steps that i would follow is as mentioned in this post

but firstly flash with uspl , the rom i has flashed id -

just type this in google u willget link u can flash this and use it

follow the link that neo gave you and flash your p3300 with uspl1.11.cmon.
you cant go wrong if you follow the steps on my thread in post 1.
(post 1... here...)
if it does not work, or if you have any questions, just message me, im always here to help.
*do not try anything untill you have sucessfully done uspl1.11.cmon.
Sooo.. the point im trying to make is: you wont even need the original/official rom once you have got uspl1.11.cmon installed.
eg, if you flash a rom and it goes wrong, uspl1.11.cmon will let you flash ANY rom, so the original/official rom is not even needed!
