WM6.1 Answer phone with bluetooth - JAMin, XDA Neo, S200 General

Having a problem with bluetooth. When my headset is paired, I have no problems answering and making calls. However, on my previous phone, if I pressed the answer button on the phone itself, then I could talk on the phone without the headset. I like this option since I usually only use the headset in the car, but don't like wearing out in stores etc. But now when my phone rings and my headset is in my pocket, I'll pick up my phone, press the answer call button, and can't hear anyone since the call is coming through the headset in my pocket!
Any fix for this?
Thanks,
Tim

Any help out there for this? Thanks!

BT headset-LAST NUMBER REDIAL

Hi,
does anyone know how is it possible to disable the LAST NUMBER REDIAL function? If my BT headset is in my pocket it happens many times, that the "-" button is pressed and it activates the LAST NUMBER REDIAL. It is very annoying....you can imagine. Is there any REGISTRY hack or somehing like that to solve this problem?
THX
That has to be one of the most annoying things!
Especially when you are having a moan about someone after the original call!!
Vijay??
Nobody has the same problem?
me too - it happens for me because I changed the LaunchAPEnable registry setting from 1 to 0 to send the sound to my headset over BT
WOlfgang
Can you clarify this problem? Which button is it that's being pressed? Hardware key or on the headset?
Explain clearly and I'll look into it and if I can help...
V
Vijay, you're too kind for your own good.. heh heh. (but we all appreciate it )
I had this problem with my BT headset and speaking for myself, it's when you hold down the button on the headset, you'll initiate last number redial.
If you just press the button you'll launch Voice Dialler..
I used to keep my BT headset in my pocket and I had both these issues.. eventually I resolved both of these problems by buying a £3 neck strap off ebay and wearing the headset round my neck..
cheers,

BT on for nearly 2 weeks!!
gaspx: there is a technique I'm working on which might help us out here.
It's messy and very very early stages right now, and sent me over the edge last weekend. But if the technique works, it'll open some very interesting doors. Please remind me in a few days. I'm afraid that I can't think of a quick solution, but in my usual style, an unnecessarily complicated solution might surface...

i have had the same problems aswell...
although i have been looking into the phone tools that only turn the bluetooth on when you have a phone call,
i am wondering if that will allouw bluetooth to turn on when transfering audio
VJVolubilis will automatically enable bluetooth and transfer audio (or attempt to).
V
Anyone figure out a way to do this yet? It sucks because I keep accidentally calling people from my headset.
I've looked around for a solution to this problem for a while now. Anyone come up with something? Vijay?
Any development on this issue yet? I accidently called twice today. Very annoying because I kept my BT headset in pant's pocket. Please help, Vjay and others professors.
How about powering down the headset? Maybe I don't get it but....
I just triple-checked, my Motorola H500, H820 & H700 will reconnect when I power them back up & press the button once as long as the phone's BT is on, even mid-call. Do these newfangled machines not offer that? What I do is answer the call on the unit w/ one ear and if I think it'll be more than a minute, I put the headset on the other ear to power it up, press to connect, and I don't miss a word (not on the H820, I'll take a pause to switch to that one when I pull it out of my gadget-laden diaper bag. Every mom needs a BT headset!). I think it'll hook up even during ringing, but calling from my skype seemed a little overkill for this response.
(I'm using a modified/very-simply-reduced version of the Jaguar ROM on a wizard at the moment, and many of Vijay's venerably ingenious tools.)

Dopod M700 did not work with SE HBH-DS970???

I use Dopod M700 and Handfree bluetooth Sony ericsson HBH-DS-970, I have problem about handfree.
After I compaired such devices, I could listen MP3 by DS-970 through WMP. It's worked and give qaulity sound! But, when I used DS970 as handfree/small talk, It's not worked. I could not answer/call by using DS-970. When incoming call while I listen MP3, WMP stopped but I could not recieved call through DS-970, I must recieved call by M700 only.
How should I do? Help me pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
PS : I used official rom and did not install any program.
Go in Comm Mgr BT settings and refresh your DS970 services and ck: handsfree and wireless stereo, save. See if the phone part works.
And if that doesn't work, maybe since the DS970 can only be paired with one phone, it needs to be re-set - then re-paired. I think the instructions are on page 10...yep, found my book: Turn off headset, then press and hold the on/off for 5 secs - you will hear a long beep. Now it is ready to be paired. Next: press & hold the on/off and call handling button simultaneously for 5 secs. The headset will turn off.
When I turn on BT, I find it best just to go into BT devices and refresh the services on the DS970. It seems to behave better...
Thank you very much. I made follow your advise. It's almost ok, but when incoming call, no ringtone in both M700 and DS-970 but it show number and contact. In M700 vibrated only and no ringtone in both M700 and DS-970.
May M700 did not work with DS-970???
Any suggestion. Thank you.
Hello

Hello
No problem i just found the solution to it:
Here's what I did:
* I deleted the HBH-DS970 from the list of BlueTooth devices
* Then I bonded them again (by setting the the little switch on the headset to the left and pressing the power button for about 5 seconds after it had powered on
* Now I move the switch over to the right
Now I can listen to music and when I have an incomming call, I get a short "beep", and I just press the mic button to answer. Then the music pauses, and resumes when I hang up.

Issues with original wired headset

G'day xda-dev's,
I hope you can help me (and a lot of other fellow X1 owners) with a strange phenomenon regarding several x1 + original wired headset.
1.) Pick up a call with the button on the microphone housing. It does not work for many X1 users. Only work around: plug in headset while telephone is ringing. After that you can pick up calls with the headset-button; until the next soft reset. Then you have to do the procedure again. Rather annoying to call oneself every time you leave the house and you want to use the wired headset.
2.) Blow into the headset's microphone and the phone will terminate (hang up) your ongoing call. Check it out, it works on many units.
3.) Microsoft voice command. The microphone button does not trigger voice command. Very sad about this since it would be very useful when your phone is burried underneath layers of warm winter clothing. Anyone having the same observation? BTW: VC works with my bluetooth headset seamlessly.
I searched this forum and I could not find any thread or fix regarding these issues. Anyone who can help?
Thanks!

It's happened to me too. In my case, when I make a call, the microphone that active is the handset one not the headset like it should be. I have to raise the handset to my mouth while speaking. This is very frustrating.
yes, i have the same problem...
and like kanthai the mic that works its the mic of the pda and not from the headset...
Complain to SE about it then.
i bought the phone outside mi country and i havent support
is there any solution to the problem described by the op known by now?

I experienced the same problem of your Item 1.
I took both my headset and the phone to the SE service centre for checking. They told me this is a bug and the problem can be resolved by inserting the headset jack very slowly into the phone. I don't know why but it works for my phone.
SE said needs to wait for an updated firmware to fix the bug, although no one has any idea when it will be
Same here
SE needs to fix this for us!!
But we got a cool way to end a call....blow in the mic! LOL

Topaz + BT hands free (Sony MEX-BT2500)

Hi there,
Can anyone help me solve this problem:
Ik have a Sony car radio with a BT hands free function (MEX-BT2500) in my car. When I make a call, the radio stops and I can speak hands free, hearing the conversation on the car-speakers. All nice, like it should be.
Problem is when I receive a call. The radio stops and I hear a ringtone (not my phone-tone though ). When I awnser the call, the caller can hear me, but I can't hear him, unless I take the phone in my hand and put it on my ear. The sound doesn't come through the car-speakers. So an incoming call can't be awnsered handsfree.
With my former phone (nokia 6230), it was no problem. Anyone knows how to solve this?
If it was the same as my problem, turn up the volume on the phone
My phone was the exact same, for some reason when it connected it was turning the volume right down!
Hope yours as as simple

Unfortunately my problem is not that simple. I got an incoming call yesterday when I was driving, but again no sound. When I called back, there were no problems. Does anyone else have a solution?
Well, I don't have the Sony-stereo, but I've got a Pioneer with BT. I have bumped into several issues with it, and the solution is the same every time:
-first, if you have a settings-option called something like "reset BT-memory", try that one, and pair phone again.
-If that doesn't work, next step is full reset of the stereo, meaning you pull it out and disconnect the power. Then plug it back in, and re-pair phone.
This at least did the trick for me, now voice-dial works perfectly, and I even have "BT Audio", meaning I can play my Topaz' music on my carstereo without hassle.
Could also be something else simple, you are using the stereo to answer and not the handset?
If I answer using the phone with my stereo then I get the same issue as you, answer using the stereo and all is well

bluetooth handfree issue

I use a BT handfree, but sometimes I may want to answer a call using the phone itself.
If I slide to answer, I don't expect the phone to transfer the call to my handfree. It has been working in this way for all the phones I used previously
However, N1 will still transfer the call to my handfree in this situation....Any solution? (other than pressing the bluetooth soft button on screen)

That was what I was going to suggest. One additional button-press doesn't strike me as terribly burdensome.
Anyhow, the way it works makes sense to me. If I have a bluetooth headset stuck in my ear, chances are I'm going to want to use it for the call, even if I answered the call using the slide just because I picked up the phone to see who was calling and slid to answer while I had the phone in hand rather than using the button on the bluetooth device.
I Have been driven nuts by this for ages, to me the nexus one does it right.
My car handsfree answers after 4 rings, if I really didn't want to miss the call I'd press on the phone to answer, only then to panic when I couldn't hear them and then have to use speakerphone and turn off the radio manually and then have a really difficult conversation.
now, if the handsfree is connected it's always used.... I think there is a privacy function (that's what it's called on some other phones anyway) which will switch the call to the handset.

lol i don't know what you guys are smoking.... but it is up to personal preference i guess.
It would be better if we have an option for that so everyone will be happy
