Video Player for X1 - XPERIA X1 General

Guys
I am using the WM for the first time ever. Have been using SE flagship phones forever. I tried playing a xvid movie but the preinstalled WMP on the phone did not play it. Could you suggest some other player which performs well on the x1.
regards

Search for TCPMP (old one that isn't updated anymore) or you can buy CorePlayer, which is TCPMP's successor.

i tried that but does not work on the x1 damm!

[ Real Player ] .CAB -----PPC ! Get it from here!

.cab file!
will play Real Media files on ur pocket pc!
Will it play rmvb video files, as well? Compression on those are outstanding.
You know... a month or so ago I spent HOURS searching for this ****ty ass real player program... and I finally tracked it down and installed it.
And then you know what...
It wouldn't even stream the damn file I wanted it to stream
I haven't ran it since I installed it.
Real's compression is all terrible.
Using pocket divx encoder to encode small avi files and playing them use tcpmp is FAR better then trying to fight with this horrid software.
Just thought I'd throw in my 2 cents

what are you stalking me? lol
And I got it to stream files just fine from it's main homepage site, but when I tried to pull up real streams from other sites, it would just site there and never start playing it.
I know what I'm doing

.flv?

are there any .flv players for the g1, i've found nothing about it on the forum
flash player? google it. they are working on it. there is even a video or a picture of some sort of a demo.
no .flv players as of yet. we've been promised flash support for a long long time and they even had a working demo back in december. i'm still dubious as to whether it's actually gonna get released =/
if it does, they'll probably make us pay for it or something

Not even sure it's gonna be available to G1 devices at all. I read somewhere that proper flash support might require different/better hardware to work properly, which means it might not work on the G1 even if it comes to Android.

I concur.
Adobe has a long way to go to make flash accessible to lower end mobile devices. Based on their track record so far, I would say that if it does show up, it will be so laggy that it will be nearly unusable.
I would say that we have a better chance of seeing a successor to flash take over than ever seeing flash play a video at ~30fps on the G1.

Did you actually watch that video? It was mostly stills, and what little animation it had was laggy as hell.
just realised, if you connect to your home computer through VNC you can watch flash videos, and they (kinda) look alright. i say kinda...
i know it's not the phone playing them but, i'm sure the phone could play flv's tbh. my fkin LG Viewty could play Flash Videos and that was a pile of crap.

the animation wasn't too bad and it was just an early concept.
my point is, if it was fairly ok in november (just checked video ) if they have actually been working on it (which i doubt) it should be pretty good by now.
I'd rather have ok flash support than no flash support at all.
stupid adobe
I don't think we need Flash players to play swf files.
I got my TCPMP to play .flv videos on my WinMo device. So now I can download YouTube or any FLV videos to play on my WinMO device. The only thing that TCPMP needed was an ability to read the FLV container as the videos are standard H264 encoded.
Is there anyone working on porting TCPMP over to Android?
Or is anyone working on getting the existing Video player on Android to read the FLV file formats?
cheers

I m using 1.59.x.x but TCPMP is not working smoothly...the video is really bad
Just buy Coreplayer. It'll render your movies even w/o re-encoding.

Good video player???

Is there any video player like coreplayer on windows mobile? I know there is YXFlash but when I play movie it is not smooth (choppy)...
use meridian , but it will not play divx videos
same here i am missing a good divx player on android !
is it possible to play divx on android?
Sent from my HTC Legend using the XDA mobile application powered by Tapatalk
yes YXFlash works but it;s pay app and options are limited.
Don't understand there isn;t any good FREE player. Android is Linux based so it should be easy...
CorePlayer is working in andoid version but no release date on their tweeater...
i find that 98% of the videos I try to play...video files, video podcasts, and most youtube videos are out of sync.
anyone else has similar issues?

i came from the n900 multimedia powerhouse tablet and this is like a full downgrade lol
in this category anyway
Hmmm this is a bit of a blow.... I was just looking at getting a Legend or maybe Desire but With no decent movie player it could be a non starter
Out of interest I notice that the Legend is similar specs to the HD - how does it compare? anyone had both.... I find the HD sluggish with later WinMo ROMs and Android to be honest.
Rockplayer Plays it all.....
Its in public beta for now.
Sent from my HTC Legend using XDA App
yeah i was going to say what about rock player, its in public beta but it plays it all. might as well grab it while its free even if it is a tad bit buggy since its a beta. plus i'm pretty sure it plays everything, even divx
didn't rock player use armv7 ? when the legend support only armv6 :\

Rockplayer is working great on my legend so I would say no...
the new rockplayer public beta has support for armv6 / legend
Im glad there is a nice player finally no need to convert that much anymore saves a lot of time
I hope they update it and stays free

What will happen with Rockplayer if the public beta time is over..Anyone know something about this?
1. Will be blocked (unusable), except you pay for it (pay app)?
2. Continue as freeware and with tons of new updates?
I am in desperade of having a good FREE video player. ^o^

MP3/AAC streams on the Atrix

Right, this is really beginning to bug the hell out of me.
I want to stream stations from here:
http://www.radiofeeds.co.uk/mp3.asp
But Winamp/Built in player refuse to even try and play them, where as my Nokia N900's crap built in player wouldn't even bat an eye lid, and even plays the AAC streams on their site too!
Am I missing codecs or something? (Can you download a codec pack for Android?)
Have you tried using Tunein Radio?
Perfect. Thank you. I got pro as well.
